Kamala Harris is proposing a new kind of ‘red flag’ law to take guns away from racists

| August 19, 2019

It’s part of her plan to ‘disarm violent hate’

Senator Kamala Harris (D- CA) must have been absent from Civics Class when the instructor went over the Bill of Rights. Her Good Idea Fairy certainly was absent. Her plan to confiscate firearms from people deemed “…a suspected terrorist or individual who may imminently perpetrate a hate crime.” and give courts the ability to issue “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Orders”

Nate Madden from the Blaze reports:

According to a policy proposal on her campaign website Wednesday, Harris said she would work to “combat and disarm violent hate” from white supremacists by pushing for legislation to give courts the ability to issue “Domestic Terrorism Prevention Orders” to take away the guns of “a suspected terrorist or individual who may imminently perpetrate a hate crime.”

According to the statement, such orders “will allow certain individuals, including law enforcement officers and family members, to petition a federal court to temporarily restrict a person’s access to guns if they exhibit clear evidence of dangerousness.”

“We need to take action to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people and stop violent, hate-fueled attacks before they happen,” Harris said in a statement. “By focusing on confronting these domestic terror threats, we can save lives.”

So how many Amendments to the Constitution does this violate? Certainly the Second, but also the Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and arguments could include the Seventh and Eighth as well. Pretty stunning. The entire article may be viewed here: The Blaze

What’s scary is that this is a well thought out plan that will resonate. It’s hard to argue against it because then you get “You support terrorism?!?” responses.

This is the kind of idea that will be written up and passed because nobody wants to look like they are in favor of terrorism, but will be terribly written. Like the Patriot Act, you’ll have politicians from both sides running on repealing it within days of its passing.

  2. So what she means is that all of us conservatives are considered nazis as they have called us and we can be expected to have our firearms confiscated when we hear that knock on our door as in who’s that knocking on my door, all last night and the night before, boom boom boom bang bang bang I can’t stand that awful thing, who’s that knocking on my door. Even though this is some serious caca (shit) these demorats want to impose on our rights, I had to add a teensy weensy little bit of levity to my comment.

Hmmmmmm …. perhaps she’s a fan of “Minority Report” … trying to stop crime before it happens.

The problem is …. she think SHE’s the pre-cog and has the ability to detect crime before it happens.

In April 2054, Washington, DC’s prototype PreCrime police department stops murderers before they act, reducing the murder rate to zero. Murders are predicted using three mutated humans, called “Precogs”, who “previsualize” crimes by receiving visions of the future. Would-be murderers are imprisoned in a benevolent virtual reality. The Federal government is on the verge of adopting the controversial program nationwide.

The media keep pointing to a poll that says 75% of Americans want expanded background checks and federal red flag laws.
That poll they cite is flawed beyond repair and is not indicative of the real attitudes Americans have towards firearms.
Bad news for the d-rats, single Women are the fastest expanding group of individuals buying firearms and taking self defense courses including CCW permits and regular self defense courses.
Juan, the Foxclown, williams cites that poll at least a hundred times a week and it was proven flawed years ago.
They refuse to learn that Americans have not become the feminine visions of various so called equal rights organizations…

  5. Ex-PH2 says:

Is she going to include blacks and black gangs in that?

What about the really violent gangs like MS13? Are they going to be included in it?

Or is she just doing this to kiss up to potential voters and get their support?

  6. Ret_25X says:

If done correctly, all democrats will have to surrender any and all firearms as the ray-sist comes from their smelly side of the fence.

Racism, by correct understanding, is a form of identitarianism. I have news for you, sunshine. There are no identitarians on the right.

The political right in the USA has many problems. Racism aint one of them.

  7. The Other Whitey says:

    And they call us fascists…

Granny Pigilosi; I’ll work on passing your bill Horemala.

Horemala; Don’t you want to read it first?

Granny Pigilosi; We have to pass it to see what’s in it.

Law abiding Taxpayer; It’s deja vu all over again.

  9. GDContractor says:

She also wants to ban the import of AR15’s, the moe-ron.

    • Martinjmpr says:

      I would support that. 😀

I’d also support a ban on ammunition made from moon rocks.

And there’s no reason anybody needs to own a porcelain gun made in Germany that can evade airport metal detectors either. Ban the Glock 7!

These are all “common sense gun safety measures” that I think we can all get behind.

What’s next? A huge protective tariff on those Dodge vehicles that are “imported from Detroit?” 😉

  10. A Proud Infidel®™️ says:

Kamala “Spreadlegs’ Harris squawks again like the useful idiot for Soros that she is.

  11. Martinjmpr says:

I seriously hope the Dems double or triple down on their gun control proposals.

Is there nobody on the Dem side that knows how this plays in the battleground states they need to win? Pennsylvania? Florida? Ohio?

  12. SFC D says:

Apparently, she’s got a cellphone and a pen, and that constitution thing is weaker than her executive orders.

Will she publicly announce her gun control policies at Concord Bridge?

  13. Veritas Omnia Vincit says:

    Shall not be infringed

Why is that so hard to understand for so many people?

I know I piss a few of my more liberal colleagues off when I mention the concept that there are no “reasonable” restrictions there are only infringements against a natural right that shall not be infringed.

Too many people think the second is a set of permissions for the people instead of a series of restrictions against the government from ever interfering with the right of the people to be able to conduct an armed rebellion whenever it was necessary to do so.

“I hold it that a little rebellion now and then is a good thing, and as necessary in the political world as storms in the physical.1 Unsuccesful rebellions indeed generally establish the incroachments on the rights of the people which have produced them. An observation of this truth should render honest republican governors so mild in their punishment of rebellions, as not to discourage them too much. It is a medecine necessary for the sound health of government.” — Thomas Jefferson to James Madison, Paris, January 30, 1787

    • Fyrfighter says:

Spot on VoV! Sadly most of the people that view it as a set of permissions as you put it have been indoctrinated to believe so by our “education” system, along with the mess media and the rest of the left.

Anyone conservative or not a loyal Leftist will be declared “racist” and have their guns taken.

  15. Stacy0311 says:

When I hear politicians talk about “common sense gun regulations” (they’ve stopped calling it gun control because that doesn’t poll worth a damn anymore) I think “YOU’RE the reason we have a 2nd Amendment”

Someone needs to tell Ms. Harris that Prohibition didn’t work. In fact, thanks to Al Capone, the crime rate went up considerably.

And if she’s going to take guns away from racists, shouldn’t we start with her? She spews a lot of race hatred, along with her pals, doesn’t she?

  18. docduracoat says:

They have already passed a red flag law here in Florida.
You will have to go to court and prove a negative (that you are not dangerous).
How are you going to prove that when your soon to be ex wife says you are dangerous?

  19. timactual says:

“… if they exhibit clear evidence of dangerousness.”

Oddly enough that is the same standard as that for involuntary (civil) commitment. Coincidence?

“One by one, other states followed suit until the prevailing standard for civil commitment in the United States required the presence of dangerousness as a result of mental disease.”

I guess the logical next step is to declare “white supremacy” to be a mental defect or disease. Shouldn’t take too long as just about everything is a “disorder” these days.

And, of course, any skepticism about the benevolence of our dear government also qualifies.

    • Fyrfighter says:

“Shouldn’t take too long as just about everything is a “disorder” these days.”
Except for those things that actually are a disorder, like not knowing what gender you are, or thinking your any one of a multitude of imaginary genders, or similar such thinking..

The web site Weaponsman.com, now inactive due to the passing of Hognose (RIP) had posts of research on quantities of firearms in the USA.

Credibly, based on ATF checks etc, the low end was 300 million. High was double that. Or more.

Hognose also posted on the topic of making your own. There are mills, printers, “80%” items, and resin-casting kits. There is plenty of “footprint” from online/card purchases of parts kits. But the AR format is easy enough for almost anyone to make. The plans are everywhere if you dig a bit.

I took his perspective very seriously. He was “in the business” of Insurgency, and clearly understood how that might go, here.

Web sites by SF folks make for -very- useful reading. Almost like someone was quietly preparing the ground, so to speak.

Confiscation is -hopeless-. It cannot be made to work short of a Reich-boner stormtrooper legion. That, of course, assumes passively obedient surrender.

I kinda doubt that last bit. Not if things get that blatant.

The anti-freedom folks will try to pick away at the edges, and establish “limited privilege” over “right”.

Ain’t happening. That ship sailed decades ago. One look at the Left coddling murderous thugs like the BlackheadSS will cause anyone sane to have a hideout or three.

Call them “Squirrel Guns”, because they will be stashed everywhere. There may well be “a rifle behind every blade of grass”.

Let’s all step back from the Abyss, eh Lefties? You cannot win, but you -can- make your ballot opponents more … determined … than you can possibly imagine.

Please? Can’t we all get along? Give peace a chance?

  21. docduracoat says:

We already have a red flag law here in Florida.
How is this law any different?

  22. NHSparky says:

These people are becoming more and more blatant in their echoing of their political idols of the old Soviet Union.

IIRC, the Soviets did love locking up political dissidents in “mental institutions.”

For the safety of the state and the people, of course.

  23. Ex-PH2 says:

Latest info on sanctuary counties in Illinois and other states:

Effingham County State’s Attorney Bryan Kibler last month told a raucous crowd the origin story behind the “Second Amendment sanctuary county” movement, which began in Effingham and now includes 64 of the state’s 102 counties, counties in three other states, and nine more states in which counties are eyeing similar nonbinding measures. And as state legislators, emboldened by Gov. J.B. Pritzker, look at more gun-control measures, counties are looking at more ways to resist them. — Chicago Tribune, April 17, 2019

Resistance by dem dere democraps is futile We are the opposition. We will assimilate you. Resistance is futile!!

  24. Berliner says:

She’s desperate and is throwing ideas against the wall to see what sticks with the radical base.

Remember how she got her first state job? In 1994, she was a 30 year old dating 60 year old Willie Brown, who at that time was the Democratic Speaker of the California State Assembly. He put her on the board of the California Medical Assistance Commission. That job paid $70k a year to meet 2x a month. She missed 20% of the meetings.

Later on, she was appointed to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board at $97k a year.
Five months later she resigned and her boyfriend appointed her to the California Medical Assistance Commission. According to state records of the time, members of the committee had to be “selected from persons with experience in management of hospital services, risk management insurance or prepaid health programs, the delivery of health services, the management of county health systems, and a representative of recipients of service.” Her experience: four years as a deputy prosecutor and a volunteer position at a hospital fundraising group.

What’s really scary, is that people will know this and vote for her anyways.
