Kilmar Abrego Garcia returns to the US to face charges

| June 7, 2025 | 37 Comments

Man identified as Kilmar Abrego Garcia assissted by guards to his next stop at the Terrorism Confinement Center in Tecoluca, El Salvador. (US District Court for the District of Maryland)

Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the illegal alien associated with MS-13, has returned to the United States to face federal charges related to human trafficking. If convicted, he could be sentenced to prison and returned to El Salvador. This is not exactly what the left was demanding. They were hoping that Garcia would be returned so that he could go through removal proceedings. The Trump administration brought him back on Trump’s terms and the ultimate outcome may be harder for the left to change. Garcia is looking at “Round 2” of the “perp walk” back into the infamous El Salvador prison in the future.

From Fox News:

Instead, the case dragged on for months after the Trump administration challenged the court orders as judicial overreach and unconstitutional. The indictment issued by a federal grand jury allows the administration to end the controversy on its terms. Rather than yielding to the challenged orders, it simply brought Abrego Garcia back to stand trial.

It is an example of the old adage “one day on the cover of “Time,” next day doing time.” Sometimes notoriety can be your undoing.

If Abrego Garcia had been removed, little attention would likely have been drawn to his prior conduct. Indeed, as all the Democratic politicians, such as Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., arrived in El Salvador with an army of reporters, one has to wonder if Abrego Garcia was having second thoughts about his challenge.

While news organizations like NPR described Abrego Garcia as a family man “living quietly” in Maryland, the facts proved far more damning. He was repeatedly accused of beating his wife. The court record also included allegations of his involvement in a notorious gang:

“Per the Prince George’s County Police Gang Unit, ABREGO-Garcia was validated as a member of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS13) Gang. Subject was identified as a member of the Mara Salvatrucha MS-13, “Chequeo” from the Western Clique a transnational criminal street gang. This information was provided by tested source who has provided truthful accurate information in the past. See Prince Georges County Police Department (Gang Sheet).”

MS-13 is designated as a terrorist organization.

Careful what you wish for, demonrats. Maybe the whole country should have the same policy on illegal immigrants as Martha’s Vineyard has? Or these demonrat politicians that have such a love affair for these gang bangers can just open up their homes for them?

fm2176

“Careful what you wish for”, indeed. As per their nature (let’s face it, it’s in nearly everyone’s nature nowadays), the Left kicked and screamed about “injustice” and now this criminal is being brought back to face justice.

I know little about this guy besides what I’ve read here and the little bit that I’ve seen and heard online. My first thought is the same as it is for every illegal, why should I care about a criminal alien who’s in my country? My second thought is the same way I feel about a lot of celebrities and politicians, why do I know anything about this guy, much less his name and history? He’s a nobody, just like me and so many others. By placing him on a pedestal and rallying around him, the Left has made him a target for the Right and an eventual martyr for their own misguided causes.

Then again, maybe he’s the true victim here… targeted by a corrupt and evil Trump administration for the “crime” of being an immigrant, and innocent of all charges against him, both formal and informal. He’ll get his day in court, and if he’s found “not guilty”, the Left should embrace him even more. There are plenty of childless Leftists out there earning six figures and living in 3k+ square foot homes. They should have a couple of extra bedrooms for a struggling young migrant family to get on their feet and begin living the American Dream.

Due process can be prosecution, Democrats.

LC

Not sure who of ‘the left’ you’re speaking with, but most I know are absolutely fine with this. Me personally, I have no idea whether he did this shit or not, and look forward to a trial.

My understanding, and I’m happy to be proven wrong, is that a single CI testified that he’s a member of MS-13. CIs are either paid or offered reduced sentences for cooperation, but they need to deliver goods – that’s not exactly conflict-free corroboration. I hope they’ve got compelling evidence, since the alternative -that the administration and the PCG police screwed the pooch- ain’t good for anyone.

SFC D

Everyone is making this far more complicated than it needs to be:

1- Abrego-Garcia is in the country illegally.
2- Illegal aliens get deported.

Everything else is political bullshit.

LC

Again, I haven’t followed this closely… but didn’t an immigration judge given him legal status to live and work in the US back in like 2019?

SFC D

Temporary. And you can spin his MS-13 affiliation any way you’d like. The tats, known affiliation, corroborating information from the wife, it’s all enough for a ticket home. And now, we have body cam video of blatant human trafficking, with the officer on scene being told to release him. But wait… there’s more. He wasn’t “mistakenly deported”. The deportation was kosher. The mistake was sending him home to El Salvador. He had a credible fear of death from… say it with me… a criminal gang. That gang has been eradicated, the threat of death no longer exists, and the entire democrat tantrum is moot. He’s still getting deported.

Hack Stone

And why does he fear that El Salvadorian gang back in his homeland? Because of his membership in a rival gang.

timactual

I am pretty sure non-members of gangs also have legitimate fears of gangs.

timactual

No. If I remember correctly, he was ordered deported and then another judge ruled that he had a legitimate fear of being killed by a gang if he was deported to his native country and thus couldn’t be deported. That gang, from what I have read, no longer exists. Thus, he can now be deported safely. The original deportation order is still in effect.

rgr769

The president of El Salvador ended all the criminal gangs. They were given summary trials and locked up in that scary prison with 70 men to a cell. So, there is no gang fear by the populace now in El Salvador.

SFC D

The judge said he could be deported, just not to El Salvador.

Odie

^^^ This can’t be up voted enough or made any simpler to understand. What’s that old saying… ignorance of the law is not an excuse. Even if you don’t speak English, it’s been going on for so long it’s been a revolving door, and the illegals know it.
Or they used to know.

Hack Stone

Well, he was found in the company of known MS-13 members while adorned with the MS-13 gang tattoos on his knuckles. Unless MS-13 has an Honorary Gang Member program much like Daniel Berenath being named an Honorary Chief Petty Officer, we can all agree that if he not a member of this El Salvadorian civic pride group, they would have removed those tattoos with a disc sander.

timactual

“Not sure who of ‘the left’ you’re speaking with, but most I know…”

LOL
I have the same thought when someone makes a blanket statement about “those on the right…”.

Odie

Anybody heard what’s going on with that judge in new Mexico who posing with known gang members? Or the Wisconsin judge who was hustling them out a back door ?

Or, are WE not allowed to ask about those fine judicial specimens.

rgr769

Hey, Liberal and Clueless, watch the cop-cam video of his vehicle stop in Tennessee, where he is the driver of a van with 9 other Hispanics and admits he is driving them to Maryland for “work” for his “boss.” Oh, and he speaks perfect English. But now his lawyers say he needs to postpone his arraignment cuz he needs and interpreter. The cops reported him to DHS as a probable human smuggler; the Biden DHS wasn’t interested.

A Proud Infidel®™

And on the other hand, liberal maggots have been rioting, oops, I mean “protesting” out in front of an ICE Facility in LA, I wonder if our resident fart-brained Moonbat isn’t taking part in that?

David

I want to see legit pics of his hands
Note now the Dems have pivoted to “we only care about due process”. Hmmm… where is that due process when they propose ‘red flag’ confiscations.?

JustALurkinAround

Home for Father’s Day. What a good news story.

Odie

You’re home for father’s day 😁

Graybeard

Give him a fair trial then hang him, shoot him, and / or electrocute him.
Not necessarily at different times.

RGR 4-78

Give him a fair trial followed by a first-class deportation back to the Guatmo super max that was his previous abode.

rgr769

Once convicted, he is going to spend several years in federal prison, then he will be deported. The DOJ is not going to go to the trouble of indicting him, bringing him back to Tennessee and then just promptly deport him again. It is the humane thing to do, cuz his wife and kids can visit him in the federal slammer. He will have the same visitation rights as every other federal prisoner.

Next, the proggy lawers will be trying to get him out on bail and move the venue to Maryland, where they will get a friendly judge. Anyone want to lay odds on how long before the Go Fund Me account goes up? I am betting the middle of next week.

Graybeard

U.S. Prisons are luxury resorts for these guys.
Maybe someone will shank him?

SidneyBroadshead

His wife already has a Go Fund Me.

26Limabeans

And a new boyfriend….

timactual

That’s fair, since he, too, will soon have a new boyfriend.

Odie

Tree branch or light pole, large block of ice and check back in a couple days. He will have to be guarded of course, but a couple days of guard costs is much cheaper than 10+ years of guard costs.

Bring a bus load of other illegals and remind them every 20 minutes or so that they are next.

That should get their attention.

Commissar

Bullshit Trumped up charges.

The administration was going to be held in contempt if they didn’t return him.

But Trump did not want to bring him back without an excuse because it would make it look like they made a mistake sending him there, and it would look like he was weak in letting the court tell him what to do.

So they manufactured an excuse to charge him so they can pretend he was being brought back to face charges.

We know it is bullshit because of the bullshit press event they held and the fact that the crimes they are accusing him of in the press event are not actually what he is being charged for.

SFC D

He didn’t need to be charged with anything other than being in the US illegally. Your liberal judges got their knickers in a twist and cried foul.

Aren’t you supposed to be somewhere rioting and protesting ICE? Got enough chapstick in that medic bag?

Roh-Dog

Please stop calling these retards “liberal”. They know nothing, especially of Liberty.

Let’s hope LT here ‘accidentallys’ someone and gets incarcerated for practicing Kanpō without enough vowels in his name. (It’s still the dystopia of CA after all)

More anqueefa retardation needs to happen for fresh lolz:

He also needs a large tube of “I Can’t Believe It’s Not K-Y” for those Pantifa bromances.
