Oregon school has kids engage in Pride Week activities – Failed to notify parents in advance
A middle school in Oregon had their students engage in activities in recognition of Pride Week. Students were encouraged to dress up as “drag queens” as well as their “queer hero”. For one of the days, students were asked to wear all black to recognize lost members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Parents were not notified in advance as required by Oregon law.

At the Arts & Technology Academy in the Eugene School District 4J, students celebrated “Pride Spirit Week” with a different theme each day intended to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, according to a memo obtained by Fox News Digital.
On Monday, students were encouraged to “wear as many colors as they could” for “Rainbow-Out” day. On Tuesday, they were told to wear all black “in remembrance of lost members of the LGBTQIA+ community.”
Wednesday was “Drag Day” where students were told to “dress like a drag queen/king/monarch or dress up as a different gender.”
Thursday was “Queer Hero Day” where students picked their favorite “queer hero,” such as Freddie Mercury or Chappell Roan.
The week’s events concluded with “Pride Flag Friday,” where students were told to “dress up as the pride flag of your choice.”
A parent who spoke to Fox News Digital said that the school principal sent out a notice to parents about the Pride Spirit Week on Monday afternoon, about 15 minutes after students were let out for the day. The email also said that the weekly activities would coincide with learning in the classroom about “the history of the LGBTQ+ civil rights movement.”
The parent was surprised to learn of the activities after the week had already kicked off and wondered why the school hadn’t shared with families in advance.
According to Oregon state law, schools are required to notify parents and guardians ahead of instruction on human sexuality.

Now that is strange. Freddie Mercury had a girlfriend and never told anyone he was gay, although he allegedly told his girlfriend in private that he was Bi. Not the strongest of evidence. How did they know? Why was he a queer hero? Ah never mind, I’m sure our resident pansexual Berkeley grad can explain it to me.
Be that as it is, ooops their bad, I am sure the state will get around to prosecution as soon as the Epstein list comes out.
I recall an interview a few years back with one of the members of Queen, he said Freddie wasn’t homosexual or bisexual, he was more autosexual. Didn’t care who he had sex with. Or what.
Clearly you are not a middle school teacher if you don’t want young kids dressing up in drag and celebrating sexual behavior.
Nope! Although… Queen did get me kicked out of 8th grade band for a week or so. No shit, there we were, three of us in the trumpet section… Bohemian Rhapsody had just come out, we’re singing it at the top of our lungs. Apparently, our director did not care for our musical choices or disruptive enthusiasm. Sent us to the principal’s office with instructions to not come back until we could behave. So, we went to the principal’s office every day instead of band and essentially used it as a study hall. 10 days later, the principal realizes we have no intention of going back to class. He sends us back, it’s like nothing ever happened. And that’s how I learned about malicious compliance.
Just think, if he hadn’t discouraged you, you could have been Shrek!

I started grade school Kindergarten in 1951. Junior High and High School taught the 3 R’s which were reedin ritin rythmatic..Desks had the inkwells but we used Mongrel No. 2 pencils until ball point pens were affordable which didn’t take long.

When I was in college, I was disgusted by the fact that they were teaching Michel Foucault who was a perverse homo pro-pedophile activist before he had the decency to succumb to the Anally Injected Death Sentence in the mid 80s.
I brought this up, and the dumb cow who was ‘ teaching ‘ professed she knew nothing of this. Right.
