Update: More or Les Document Myth
There is more to come on this story. To recap, Les Brown’s official military records do not match his claims of retiring after 20 years as a MSG (E-8), Special Forces, Ranger, Desert Storm veteran, Master Parachutist and in federal violation of the Stolen Valor Act of 2013 – wearing a Combat Infantryman’s Badge (CIB). At first, Les Brown claimed it was just on a vest and floated a theory that his organization had a special arrangement with itself and they can wear unearned medals and rank. Then, several pictures were produced of Les also wearing unearned rank, a Ranger tab, Master Parachutists badge and a Combat Infantryman Badges (DIB) sewn on a camouflage uniform that he wore to parades and to speak in front of school children.
We’ve been talking to people in Elko Nevada and we’ve got it from a reliable source that Les Brown claims he has the appropriate documents to back up his claims. Although we look forward to seeing this documentation, we would like to point out that anyone could have obtained concrete proof by now directly from the National Personnel Records Center and saw firsthand what we have been saying all along. We have merely been pointing out what those records state – along with several refiled FOIA requests to ensure there was no mistake.
This same principle goes for the Elko Daily Free Press as well. They promoted Les Brown as some kind of home town hero with their articles about him as an inspiration. After Brown was exposed, they doubled down and did a softball article that allowed Les to get out his side of the story. They could have just as easily obtained Brown’s official records and verified for themselves. It would have only taken a day or so. Instead, they spun some kind of weird ‘us’ against ‘Les’ scenario, probably to deflect from their poor journalism and lack of research skills. They called us, but no sooner than they got a name, they hung up – probably so they can claim “they reached out to us.” That is not journalism. The fine folks in Elko Nevada should see the Elko Daily Free Press for what it is, in my strong opinion – simply a social media blog printed on newspaper and passed off as journalism.
Any veteran that refuses to look at the hard evidence and defend Les Brown has turned their back on the honor that they once held dear. Les Brown may flash you something that looks official in an effort to counter claims made against him but he does not want this documentation to be reproduced and go out beyond a tight circle. If there is a mismatch between what he is showing you and what is officially on file at the NPRC, somebody is not going to look good.
The poker game’s over Les – time to show your hand. You can only bluff for so long. Put up or shut up.
Can Les Brown single-handedly become “The Brown Stain” on Elko, Nevada? He’s making good progress but he is also being helped by people willing to either look the other way or participate in the coverup.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
One of our remorseless ninjas has found some more interesting facts for Brown (stain) to ponder.
Found a 1980 newspaper article that announced Les’ wedding to his first wife in Placerville, CA. In the article, he was identified as an Army Soldier….and that he and his first wife were going to live in Tacoma, Washington.
Tacoma, Washington is the home of Fort Lewis, also home of the 2nd Battalion, 75th RANGER Regiment
During the early 1980s timeframe when Les was stationed there, the 2nd BN, 75th RANGER Regiment partook in OPERATION URGENT FURY (Grenada).
In the Army, when we are deployed for combat missions, on our RIGHT sleeve on our uniform we are entitled to wear a “Combat Patch” AKA the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia-Former Wartime Service (SSI-FWS). Does not matter if you are a Ground Pounder or a Supply Guru…if one was in a Combat Theater of Operations, then one is entitled to wear the SSI of the unit he or she deployed with on their right sleeve.
Now, take a look at this picture of Les in 2012 wearing an SSI-FWS on his right sleeve-
Then compare it with a Silver Star Recipient who was with the 2nd BN 75th RANGERs for Grenada-
Surprised Brown hasn’t claimed one or two of these as well.
I have also included the YOU TUBE Video about that Silver Star recipient as well as his synopsis from The Hall of Valor:
Les is wearing a Combat Patch insinuating that he was with the 75th RANGERS PHYSICALLY in Grenada.
Which explains why he wears the CIB. And the Parachute Badge. And the 75th RANGER on his vest as well as RANGER and SPECIAL Forces. Wonder if he was INITIALLY assigned to the 75th…but went to another unit when he picked up the Ammo Specialist MOS.
Again, there HAS TO BE a DD214 out there that is his FIRST DD214 that shows what he did from 1980-1984. The FOIA shows he was an Ammunition Specialist for 66 months, not Infantry/RANGER.
Ironically, he makes a BIG Deal about being a Desert Shield/Desert Storm Veteran, yet he wears the 2nd BN/75th RANGER Regiment Scroll as his “combat patch” on his right sleeve…but then again, he is NOT AUTHORIZED to wear his MP Unit that he was with in Germany during DS/DS since HE WAS NOT IN A COMBAT THEATER….So the plot thickens…HE WANTS TO BE A COMBAT VETERAN…
Is he using GRENADA as his way to be a member of that VFW 2350?
Trying to figure out IF he did deploy to Grenada as part of a support unit from FT Lewis…or if he WAS with the 75th…but as an Ammo Specialist and not a Grunt (which means NO CIB!!!)
Besides that, none of his records show he went to Airborne School or RANGER School, so am guessing that he EMBELLISHED his assignment at Fort Lewis…
Not ‘guessing,’ ninja. More facts for the people of Elko to ponder. Thanks for the hard research and theory. Seems laughing boy here can’t keep his campaigns straight.
Lest Brown takes the cake compared against other phonies that have graced this website. I doubt if any phony profiled on TAH has generated the number of comments or the level of outrage than what Les Brown has generated. And this is saying a lot, as there have been some very outrageous phonies on these pages. Just a quick review of some recent phonies: Robert Hayes: 191 Comments Charles Hill: 177 Comments Jeff Treu: 98 Comments Patrick Porter: 63 Comments Joe Foti: 87 Comments Frotz Gerlach: 111 Comments Oscar Rodriguez: 87 Comments Thomas Aaron Vachet: 120 Comments Robert Shackford: 76 Comments (My favorite for 2019 prior to Les Brown) And the list goes on from there. None of the above phonies have even come close in drawing out the level of comments on TAH as Les Brown at over 1,900. I think there are some reasons for this comment count and commenter outrage: 1. Les Brown’s claims of military service are outrageous compared to his official military record for his service. 2. Les Brown’s involvement in an organization that has the respect of the community. The community assumes that veterans are truthful and honest and Les Brown takes advantage of this misplaced trust for his own twisted need for gratification. 3. The protection against exposure seemingly afforded to Les Brown by some citizens and groups in Elko, Nevada, despite the community being afforded the opportunity to examine the facts. This is bizarre to say the least. 4. Making public appearances, including school visits, while in a military uniform adorned with achievements he never earned. No telling what was said in those appearances. I am sure it wasn’t about talking about pulling neighborhood watch in Germany. 5. Les Brown’s unwillingness to come clean with the community. I doubt if Les Brown will take the necessary steps to amend his wrongs. He doesn’t have it takes to come clean. I do have faith in the people in Elko, Nevada, as they eventually wake up to the facts concerning Les Brown. It may take a while, and it may not be pretty when… Read more »
Just a note,
Les isn’t even *close* to many of the folks that have numbers over 1,000
We don’t have the search engine on the front page (unfortunately) until they have a TAH site revamp, but if you google “TAH” and then a couple of the following names….
Paul Wickre
Daniel Bernath
Just two of the biggest ones off the top of my head, there have been a few where Jonn had to close out threads and start over and then they just keep going on and on.
I’m sure a bunch of the other TAH Crew can pile on here with other TAH greats.
Granted, Les is the stinkiest person that we’ve had on in months and maybe, just maybe, this year?
We’ll have to have a few others weigh in.
The outrage is multiplied by his unapologetic use of
an issue that demands an honest account of our brothers
and sisters. It is truly bizarre.
Frank Visconi had 1,544 Comments.
https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=41610#comments
Jonn had to shut it down:
“Sorry, but I’m closing this discussion. Frank is never going to admit that he lied, and we’re never going to believe that he didn’t. He sends me irrelevant crap to post because he’s too cheap to get his own free Flickr or Instagram account and I’m just sick and tired of him and his threats to sue me.”
I just scrolled through the valor vultures and revisited (in my mind) the unglorious phonies of yesteryear. The round ranger, the cheese eater, several round marines, a heaping helping of soup sandwiches. Good times. I still like the phony Master Guns sporting the American Defense Medal and the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, he was classic.
Was that Gunny Driveway? I believe he was the one who coined a beloved TAH-specific slang term when he threatened to sic his “lawer” on Jonn.
1st Sgt Moerk had a lot for impersonating a leader.
SP8 Moerk. That was not a 1SG.
The appearance of sock puppets who come out to defend the fakers fakery always kicks the hornets nest on TAH so that accounts for a lot of the comments as well.
Two have popped up to defend their fake hero Les Brown, though Brown himself appears to be too chickenshit to respond.
And I’ll agree that Brown is unlikely to come clean. He seems to have assembled a retinue of defenders in his little town who will defend his lies and he likely doesn’t venture much beyond the Elko city limits so the opinions of those outside the town mean little to him.
He’s hoping this gets washed away in the news cycle and he can then go back to pretending to be a retired E8 Steely Eyed Killer.
The saddest part is that there are kids in his town who will likely grow up thinking that a faker BS artist like Brown is what a “real veteran” looks like.
We had an adult male in my home town that
rode around on a bicycle with a big basket
on the handlebars. He smoked a pipe and
always had a week old beard that made him
look a bit unkempt. No one knew anything
about him, just that he was always seen
riding his bicycle around town.
I wonder what became of him.
Everyone knew him as Lester. No shit.
Elko and more so Carlin are small towns in
the desert but they exist in the modern
digital world and their youth probably have
the skinny on on Les. It is the adults that
turn a blind eye.
They just can’t feature a bike group without
showing Les on a side panel.
The side panel shows:
[ELKO — Les Brown spent 20 years in the Army, retiring in 1998 as a master sergeant. Life out of the Army — away from his military family — was…]
The very article that got Les Brown noticed,
reported by an upset Elko veteran,
and ultimately led to where Les Brown is today.
Can you smell the black leather irony?
This breaking news just in from our Colorado bureau chief, Ron Burgundy: MSG Les Brown (USA, Ret.) a Desert Storm veteran and former Ranger will be riding point for the Nevada contingent of “awareness association” vested bikers. Les stated that “freedom isn’t free” and urged spectators to “give until it hurts” in support of his POW MIA group in Elko, NV.
The “Give Until it Hurts” theme was preceded by the “Givis Us Free” campaign.
it’s always about the VESTS!
Bad, Bad, Lester Brown
Well the South side of Elko
Is the baddest part of town
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of a man named Lester Brown
Now Lester he a phony
And he like his phony clothes
And he like to wave his unearned rank
In front of everybody’s nose
He got a custom souped-out Harley
He got an Beach Cruiser too
He got a gerbil in his pocket for fun
He got a Retired ID in his shoe
And it’s bad, bad Leroy Brown
The baddest man in the whole damned town
Badder than old Tom Wulf
And meaner than an admin POG
VESTED is not available
https://dmvapp.nv.gov/dmv/vr/plateav/plateav_input.aspx
One needs to be “vested” to ride with Les.
NO JUMP is currently available.
Jump on it Les, jump on it.
NOT ABN is currently available.
You are not Airborne Les, not Airborne.
CHAPLES
PARALES
and TRYLES are still available!
Nevada does not have an income tax.
I hope Les is reporting his retirement pay on
his federal 1040. The IRS can be very aggressive
when going after frauds.
Fortunately for MSG Les Brown (USA, Ret.) he lives in Nevada which does not have a state income tax so his military retired pay goes a little further in helping him put gas in his Hog.
Hell, CCR, Lester Kent Brown (stain) IS a gassy hog.
What are the odds that Les Brown
and the ELKO POW*MIA
are in Colorado today?
Hmmmm..
Do they go and show (off) their blingy vests?
Or…
Do they stay away,
because they now know they are known nationwide,
not in a good way,
and are likely to get rolled, poled, and strolled
if they show up at Cripple Creek?
Quite the conundrum.
“What are the odds that Les Brown
I doubt they travel very far from home.
Les may be BMOC in Elko but not outside the wire.
I now see this Facebook comment on ½ dozen
Cripple Creek based Facebook pages,
on their biker rally posts,
as well as the Colorado Springs Gazette.
For the bikers, veterans, and POW*MIA members
attending Cripple Creek today,
be aware that LES BROWN, the Commander of
the ELKO (Nevada) POW*MIA Awareness Assoc,
is a nationally outed Stolen Valor PHONY. (NO combat, NO CIB, NO E-8).
Pass along. Thank you. —- https://valorguardians.com/blog/?p=89407
Safe to say,
the Elko POW*MIA Awareness Association
is receiving plenty of “awareness”
in the Summer of 2019.
Saturday morning Brown Stain on Elko comment count update:
Added Note:
IAW the guidelines contained in AR 675-2-1/AR600-8-22, the colors of the 5th award on clusters changes from bronze to silver.
However, in the case of the 5th award of the Fecal Smudge Cluster to the Master Phony Badge for Lester Kent Brown, the colors will change from Baby Shit Brown to Day-Glo French’s Classic Yellow Mustard.
This is all for now, but the Truth is out there somewhere.
The TAH network must remain vigilant to insure Les Brown does not claim service in the French Foreign Legion based on his French Classic Yellow Mustard Fecal Smudge Cluster.
Don’t forget that he’s eligible to wear the Lesion de Penis (with hairy nutsack cluster) for his “service”.
“The Les Brown No Chili Drive to 2K” – We can do it. Even without a sockpuppet assist, we can do it.
Lester Kent Brown (stain) may want to have some chilli for that sausage dog he gets served at the BTJ&T Deli. Maybe not, those dogs come (snicker) with a special sauce…don’t they?
I just want to comment and say, “I helped” in the drive to 2K.
I can’t help but notice that the Cripple Creek procession will pass through Colorado Springs, home of the 10th Special Forces Group.
Maybe some Special Forces soldiers will be taking part and could make an effort to go meet and greet a “fellow Green Beret” [NOT] Lester Kent Brown. Maybe make him famous in Cripple Creek.
There’s a song in there somewhere. I just know it…
