Random Open Thread – TAH’s Rent Around the Corner

Last year, Jonn called for donations:
“Just a warning — our $6000 annual rent comes due next month, I pay a year in advance so that I save $1200/year. So start digging that change out from your couch cushions. I’ll be rattling my tin cup next month.” – Jonn Lilyea
Once again, we’re in that part of the year where rent is coming due. The requirements, as they’ve consistently been, is $6,000 for rent, site-related expenses, maintenance, technical support, etc.
You guys pulled through last year, as Jonn stated:
“I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to us this year – this is the second year in a row that our readers paid our rent.” – Jonn Lilyea
Jonn passed away after the last rent came due, the balance of what was in the coffers was given to Jonn’s family. From then, it took a combination of monthly contributions and personal funds from those who inherited this site from Jonn, that kept this community going.
Jonn enjoyed the fact that this site brought our community together through the years. From reading comments here, I could tell that you guys see things the same way. Here’s to helping his legacy continue to live and do what Jonn wanted it to do. Looking forward to you guys pulling through this year as you did in the last two years.

I’ll be “shaking the canteen cup” again as we get closer to “due date”.
Edit: Donation methods being worked on, in addition to other functions and quirks. There is a rapid, temporary solution, that I’ve proposed. Waiting for the “okay” signal. I’ve also passed along the interest in sending via snail mail.

1 – Give me a “PAY TO” address where I can send money via PayPal.
2 – Put a “click here” tab on the top row so I can post something using a credit card.
3 – Give me a snail mail address where I can write a “check” and deposit it in the “US MAIL” in an “envelope” with a “postage stamp” stuck to the outside.
4 – I don’t do Bit Coins.
I’ll take door # 3 for what I can send on a pay to the order of whomever bank draft. Credit card melted due to medical and insurance bills.
Would be willing to make a donation in whiskey and cigars, but….y’all know how that Hardin Boy is.

Y’all know I have no shame rattling the cup as well- because before I rattle I donate. I would’t ask anyone here to do something I hadn’t already done.
Even if this place didn’t have a very serious purpose, it’s just a great point on the interweb-verse. Hang out, greet old friends and make new ones, engage in epic flame wars with trolls and their ilk, and generally act like a bunch of dickweeds. Some things money can’t buy, but you can rent it for a while. So dummy up when thebesig lights the signal fire. I know I will.
Give me door number# 3, I always keep spare cash! I was raised dirt poor.
#2 is easiest for me, but I know it may be more difficult and/or more costly for y’all to process. Zelle might be another option. My sister transfers money to me that way sometimes.
