Texas: Mother Charged After Being Accused Of Buying Ammunition, Tactical Gear For Son’s Planned ‘Mass Targeted Violence’ At His School

A 33-year-old Texas mother has been charged after being accused by authorities of purchasing ammunition and tactical gear for her son’s planned “mass targeted violence” at his middle school.

Her son’s age and name have not been disclosed by authorities — though middle school age typically ranges from 11 to 14 years old.

According to an affidavit obtained by ABC News, Ashley Pardo, 33, was charged with “aiding in the commission of terrorism” after purportedly providing ammunition and tactical gear to her son, who is also accused of planning some kind of “mass targeted violence” at Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio, Texas.

Pardo was initially contacted in January about “[her son’s] drawings of the local school [he] currently attended,” according to the affidavit. It noted that the drawings featured a map of the school labeled “suicide route,” and the school’s name scribbled next to another drawing of a gun.

Pardo and her son, who was not named in the affidavit, were contacted by officials at the time since he expressed a “fascination with past mass shooters,” according to the affidavit.

The child was reportedly discovered in April researching the 2019 Christchurch shooting in New Zealand, which killed 51 people, while he was using a school-issued computer — the affidavit continued.

“He was subsequently suspended, and later in the day, attempted suicide, with a straight razor causing significant injuries and requiring over 100 stitches,” the affidavit noted.

Officials then explained that the boy began attending an “alternative school” until May 7th.

Some time after, his grandmother, with whom he had been staying with “on various occasions,” contacted police on Monday after she found her grandson “hitting a live bullet with a hammer,” authorities continued.

After being questioned by her, the young boy told his grandmother that he received the bullet from Pardo, his mother, and that she had “guns and ammunition at her house.”

Trooper shot, suspect killed after exchanging gunfire during traffic stop in Detroit

DETROIT (WXYZ) — A man has died after officials say he shot a Michigan State Police trooper who returned fire during a traffic stop in Detroit Friday evening.

The incident happened around 7:40 p.m. on the city’s west side near the Lodge Freeway and Wyoming Avenue.

According to state police, a trooper with the Metro South Post was conducting a traffic stop when he and the suspect reportedly got into an altercation. The trooper then said the suspect shot him, so he returned fire, fatally hitting the suspect.

It’s unclear at this time where the suspect was shot at and how many times. State police identified the suspect as a 41-year-old man from Highland Park. He was taken to the hospital by the Detroit Police Department.

The trooper was shot three times, twice in his vest and once in his shoulder, officials said.

He was taken to Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit for medical treatment. MSP says the trooper is in stable condition and doing well.

Graybeard

San Antone. Boy lives with grandmother, mother buys ammo for boy.
Smells like cartel or drug related to me.

KoB

Smells like the distinct odor of cray cray from the MOTY picture, too, Graybeard. No wonder the kid has “issues”.

Shot three (3) times and still able to return fire, scoring a DRT. BZ Trooper! The Trooper’s vest probably did save his life. We had an off deputy doing traffic control for us while stringing some cable along a major state highway. Dude’s supervisor came by and stopped just to chit chat and noticed the deputy didn’t have his vest on. Sarge politely, but firmly told him to put it on that he was “never off duty”. A few weeks later the same deputy was “off duty” when he got an emergency call from an ambush on other officers. His vest saved his life that day.

What’s not to love about a Mossy? Rugged, reasonable price, and it works as advertised.

Speaking of “what’s not to love…” HONEY HUSH! That thar leggy, brunetted, Ms Thang wouldn’t have to kick my door down, I’d leave it wide open for her. Wonder why a certain ZZ Top song is popping into my brain right now?

Should have figured she’s a Zahal Girl: Zahal Girl Lovie | Shooting Instructor. That company has some fairly attractive former IDF types working for them. I hate hearing about a cop getting shot on duty, but I can’t help but wonder how many officers have been saved by their vests since those became standard issue. Regardless, it seems that criminals have some of the luckiest lack of aiming skills out there, as far too many cops lose their lives to gunfire despite the body armor. I’m no cop, but body armor is part of the uniform anytime we’re on-duty and outside of the branch (we can downgrade if we have the Brinks run or go to a satellite branch). Much like the recommend retention holsters (Level II), the body armor policy reflects our unique position as potential targets. Most cops have Level III or higher rated holsters. They need them because there are people who will try to snatch their weapon, especially during a physical struggle. Body armor is a must because cops are targets to some. My peers and I don’t have to worry much about someone snatching our guns. If someone has ill-intent, they’re likely already well-armed and looking to get the drop on us. My value as a target is minimized when I’m not transporting cash. Criminals don’t want my $600 Glock, they want the $$$ I’m carrying. Hence, I have few concerns stopping by the store when I get off of work. One thing I really need to do, though, is to invest in some more concealment holsters. If I can find the 5.11 Tactical concealed carry vest I bought almost 20 years ago, I might keep that in the truck and just wear it over my gun belt, but for now I drop the belt whenever I have to go into a store after work. I could wear it in, but I’d look awfully funny wearing a stripped-down duty belt (another good thing is that we have a simplified escalation-of-force compared to cops: verbal, present the firearm, shoot/no shoot–no less lethal to worry about) around… Read more »

Which reminds me in a roundabout way, I’ve got to get a photo. I should finally be submitting my Private Investigator application this week. I don’t know when I’ll use the license as my Armed Security license is used 50-65 hours a week currently, but it’ll add to the resume, open up some future job prospects, and give me yet another form of ID. 😀
