Jonn wrote about Ralph Northam here when Mr. Northam was running for governor.
I voted in the gubernatorial election in Virginia where Ed Gillespie (R) and Ralph Northam (D) campaigned for governor. In one of the campaign ads shown for Ralph Northam, a Latino Victory Fund video showed a truck, identified as racist, going after minority kids. The implication was that Ed Gillespie in particular, and Republicans in general, were racist.
Critical thinkers saw this advertisement as something that didn’t reflect reality. We know which party had the history of racism. Sadly, many people fell for that video, as well as the general leftist narrative about the right.
Governor Ralph Northam has since issued an apology, CNN aired the apology… Labeling him as a Republican. I voted for Ed Gillespie. I could assure you that Ralph Northam is a Democrat. Some may argue that the labeling was nothing but a “mislabeling”.
But, given their track record with regards to bias and misrepresentation, and retractions, I wouldn’t be surprised if they did that deliberately. The leftist narrative is that of Republicans and conservatives being racist. As you guys have seen with the labels thrown at those wearing the MAGA hats, many fall for that narrative hook, line, and sinker.

“My fellow Virginians, earlier today I released a statement apologizing for behavior in my past that falls far short of the standard you set for me when you elected me to be your governor. I believe you deserve to hear directly from me,” Northam said in a video he posted on Twitter.
“That photo and the racist and offensive attitudes it represents does not reflect that person I am today or the way that I have conducted myself as a soldier, a doctor, and a public servant. I am deeply sorry,” he continued. “I cannot change the decisions I made nor can I undo the harm my behavior caused then and today. But I accept responsibility for my past actions, and I am ready to do the hard work of regaining your trust.”
As a recap, Governor Northam talked about how a baby would be “made comfortable” after it is delivered, and its fate would be discussed. This was regarding an abortion bill that was being considered.
Well, Mr. Huckabee gave Mr. Northam his own words served with humor:

Some in Virginia are wondering why this wasn’t available during the election. They would’ve voted for Ed Gillespie instead. A better thought process should go along the lines of “declaring independence” from CNN, and others like them, by being proactive with getting information.
Even without the above photo, information was available about Ralph Northam that they could’ve obtained. Some of that information made it to the above link to Jonn’s post about him.

If he’s now unambiguously claiming it’s not him in the photo, then either Northam was lying when he made that apology – or his claim of “it wasn’t me” is a lie. The two are mutually exclusive, and both cannot be true.

In that “correction”, all Cooper admits to is “misidentifying Gov. Northham’s party affiliation”, then says the error “has been corrected”. He never identifies either the specific error or the necessary correction.
If one were suspicious, one could say that sounds rather like an attempt to “double down on teh stoopid“.

What bothered me most here was that the media initially (1) ignored the story for weeks if not months (you can bet SOMEONE in the manistream media knew about those pictures long before last week), (2) sat on the story recently until they had no choice but to cover it, and (3) then in at least one case obscured the man’s party affiliation, perhaps deliberately.
You can bet long odds if the man had been a conservative Republican, the media would have trotted out these pics during the last week or two of the election campaign.

No problem. What I mentioned on the other thread was that the Democratic Party of Virginia has, as a priority, doing away with the photo ID requirement at the voting booth.
Showing a photo ID is still a requirement. The Republicans in the state will oppose attempts to remove that as a requirement in order to maintain the photo ID requirement.
As the current law stands, voters still have to show their photo ID before they vote.
I, among many others, am scratching my head on this one. But, it is with some small amount of pleasure that I watch the left running about as they characterize and mischaracterize just what happened here and explain just what we are supposed to be outraged about.
Best I can make of it is that a proven liar got himself elected and has been caught in subsequent lies about his behavior several decades ago. OK.
What of that is supposed to surprise us? And why should I be outraged that another Dem displays his bigotry in public, followed by an inability to take responsibility for it?
My best guess is that this clown honked off somebody higher up in the political food chain and they threw him under the bus. This is not the first time, or even the third time CNN has “mislabeled” a politician. If it were I would give them the benefit of the doubt that someone erred. But there is a pattern here that cannot be ignored. And they wonder why they’re called the network of Fake News!
Many in the media have been busted for showing the “R” when a Republican politician gets busted, or gets put through the legal/judicial meat grinder. But, when it was a Democrat, the media dropped the party affiliation and just identified the politician by their position.
