Turkey Day boycott

| November 28, 2024 | 23 Comments

PETA, the original group (not the People Eating Tasty Animals group so many of us patronize) is calling for a boycott of Butterball, the turkey folks, based on a video they took. 18 years ago. Yep, 2006.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) launched an undercover investigation into Butterball’s Ozark, Arkansas location between April and July 0f 2006.

An undisclosed investigator revealed the alleged atrocities he witnessed – including sexual assault against the birds – as workers ‘shackled and slaughtered’ more than 50,000 turkeys each day, according to PETA.

“Nothing humane had ever happened in a slaughterhouse,” Amber Canavan, the Vegan Campaign Project Manager for PETA, told DailyMail.com.

May be the most intelligent thing I have ever heard from a PETA rep….it’s a freakin’ SLAUGHTERHOUSE, right? This is not an environment where insomniac birds are rocked to sleep by loving angels of mercy.

After reciting a litany of maltreatment their undercover guy says he witnessed (some a bit graphic for a holiday):

“The workers at this plant were clearly not trained in animal welfare – some workers even bragged about their abuse,” he asserted.

Animal executioners not trained in animal welfare…who woulda thunk it. I’m shocked, SHOCKED!

“The response we are seeing from people online is exactly what any animal advocate wants to see right before Thanksgiving,” Canavan added. “We’re just seeing dozens and dozens of people swearing off turkey this year.”

Dozens and dozens… compared with the millions upon millions Butterball sells annually (15 million in November alone). Right. I am sure they are sweating. Regardless, Butterball says:

“Animal care and well-being is central to who we are as a company, and we are committed to the ethical and responsible care of our flocks. That means maintaining the health and well-being of our turkeys is an ongoing effort.”

The spokesperson added that Butterball has yearly audits conducted by a third party to make sure facilities are complying with the ‘200+ science-based standards of best practice for care of turkeys.’

She added: “Butterball was the first and remains the only turkey company that is American Humane certified. We are proud to be 1 of every 3 turkeys on the table this Thanksgiving.” Daily Mail UK

Then PETA says abuse is ongoing. Wonder whether anyone there wants to recognize the predominant demographic working in slaughterhouses? Been around a few off and on, and while I would hate to point fingers, having a working knowledge of the Spanish language could be described as a good prerequisite.

Hat tip to my own grandson Jordan for this one!

So Peta doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving like the rest of us? Do they eat impossible turkey?

NHSparky

I saw a vegan turkey yesterday. Aside from being shaped like a turkey, it looked (and I imagine neither smelled nor tasted) nothing like one.

Which brings me to a question: why do vegans want to eat food shaped like meat? Kinda along the same lines as why do lesbians plow each other with rubber dicks?

Fyrfighter

Ahh the questions that keep us up at night…

Tasty animals belong on a plate…next to the peas, taters, and dressing. There will be a meeting of PETA (People Eating Tasty Animals) all over the country today.

“including sexual assault against the birds”

Pictures or it didn’t happen.

Punch line to the joke that Hack referenced a minute ago, @If you think this is hot, you should have been here last night. They had a guy effing a chicken.”

Hack Stone

Sexual assault in a turkey slaughterhouse? This is taking murder porn to a whole new level.

It reminds Hack of.a joke about a guy who visits a house of prostitution and the only companies is a chicken. Too long and too graphic to relate it here, but it is funny.

There was this girl in high school everyone called Butterball.
She could do the Mashed Potato like a pro.

Great song. The pier 4 gedunk stand on the Norfolk Naval base had a jukebox with a screen on top of it and for 50 cents, you could watch Little Eva dressed in Arab garb singing Locomotion. Way before MTV.

More turkey for me, that’s all I see.

MEAT IS MURDER!!!

Yup. Tasty, tasty murder.

Then again, I tend to ignore bullshit from groups that kill 98 percent of their shelter animals.

UpNorth

And I ignore virtue signaling from groups whose CEO’s have salaries in the 7 figures and whose lowest ones on the boards of directors take home compensation in the 6 figures. Fukem!!

Eggs

I’ll just leave this one here.

What, no hardware? Am I supposed to tilt the plate and slurp
it up like a dog or just give it to him.
And that better be a salt shaker next to it.

It is funny how the libs keep moving the goalposts in everything they do.
PETA used to be about treating animals ethically, now is about forcing everyone to become vegan.
They deserve a bag of dicks this thanksgiving.
I am sure they are still celebrating the Trumpminator’s election victory.

Try a Kosher turkey. A bit more expensive, but they are not frozen and taste better.

11B-Mailclerk

Oh. And for PETA.

BUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRP!

AND IN OTHER NEWS:
Cattle ARE KILLED at slaughterhouses as well.
Want to enjoy watching a proselytizing Vegan off? Remind him/her/it that Adolph Hitler was also a vegetarian!

Once upon a time, the nincompoops were protesting a Burger King next to my favorite bookstore.

Bought a double whopper and proceeded to munch it while speaking with them.

“So, what’s the beef?”

“Murder? Nah. Lunch.”

“Mmmm. (Burp)”
