One down and one in the wind, BZ. Stick with the weapon and fear for life and lawer up; it is Illinois after all. Thanks, Gun Bunny.

Mr Brooks is going to find it difficult to sit while being arraigned, during trial, and incarceration.
plus that shot will add SO much street cred with his fellow inmates.
i checked my pockets and found my give-a-shit to be empty.
That sucks, to have your car damaged during a break in, just get it back from repairs, then someone wants to break in again. Give your BF an extra hug and a prayer, he’s going to need it while dealing with the authoritahs.
Showing his azz got him bit in the azz. Don’t f*ck with an old dude. He ain’t gonna run, he ain’t gonna fight. He ain’t gonna hesitate to shoot your azz…Literally!
Amazing how a warning shot that makes your partner in crime DRT will cause a him to remember pressing business elsewhere.
Testify, Mr. Madison!
My gunz store dood is holding a mini mag for me as we speak. Needs one, you know…fer varmits and sech.
The elderly hero may have been too old to kick Nathaniel Brooks’ adz, but he wasn’t too old to pop Nathaniel Brooks’ adz!
Sad that in Illinois the good guys have to lawyer up to protect themselves from the (D)emon-rat AGs.
(D)emon-rat AGs must’ve had their fingers crossed when they took/take their Oath of Office…
I’ve always wanted a Mini-14. Bass Pro had one on the used side a while back, but I passed. They were super popular in the ’80s and ’90s, but nowadays they’re simply a (very) distant second to the ubiquitous AR-15.
I did go on a shopping spree of sorts for my new job today. Rocky TMC Public Service Boots (Rocky TMC Black Public Service Boots – #FQ0005019), as I’ll be on my feet and need slip resistance but don’t need police-style footwear. Safariland 7280 Holster (7280 7TS™ SLS Mid-Ride, Duty Rated Level II Retention™ Holster | Safariland), and an open top triple magazine pouch. Safe Life Defense duty belt. Once I confirm the pouch size for my body armor, I’ll be ordering some Mira Level IV plates. They’re a combination of ceramic and polyethylene, weigh under 6 lbs. each, and are decently priced. If the extra 12 lbs. prove too much, I can always remove them, but I like the concept of additional protection against rifle calibers.
It’ll probably be after the holidays before I get my armed security certification; despite not being regular security, the State Board of Private Security Examiners is the regulatory agency over all armed positions. I also still have to apply for my PI license, and plan to go ahead and get my CHP as well despite our state’s constitutional carry. Oh, and renew my RSO certification by January. I won’t need it for my new job, but why let it lapse? Besides, I may end up coaching 4H shooting next year if my daughter wants to continue that.
Finally, I hope to make time to complete my local range’s Sentinel Program (Sentinel Program | FRC Firearms Range & Clothing) and eventually get some NRA instructor certifications. Training is training, and if I’m going to carry a gun for a living as well as for EDC, I want to have all of the advantages I can, even while I hope to never fire a shot in self-defense.
That Mini-14 is the ugliest thing ever done to the namesake of
a genuine M14 rifle. I had to click on “are you 18 or older”
just to look at it.
Pop, who was a “Distinguished Expert” with Rifle and Pistol, way back when, dismissed the Mini-14 as “a 25 yard rifle”.
Hopefully they have improved since then. (Grin) The AR-15 platform has come a very long way since that era.
Me too and it’s been several year since mah 18th…
Here’s another budget priced option on some decent gear FM
