Jim Webb announces presidential bid

Webb for President

You’ve probably already heard about veteran, former Navy Secretary and former Senator Jim Webb announcing his intentions to run for President next year as a Democrat. Dave Hardin and I had an email discussion about this yesterday, We agreed that in the Democrat pool of candidates – Clinton, Sanders and O’Malley – Webb was probably the best choice.

My problem with Webb is that he tends towards being a petulant child at times. The picture above was taken in 2007 at an anti-war protest and the Webb for President signs were carried by Move-On protesters because Webb had snubbed President Bush while visiting the White House a few days before the protest. In my opinion, that was really bad judgement on Webb’s part. If he was really that upset with the then-President, he shouldn’t have gone to the White House in the first place, but obviously he went to ingratiate himself with the Left and make a spectacle of himself.

Knowing the Move On creeps in DC like I do, I doubt many of them will be carrying “Webb for President” signs during this 2016 campaign, not with Hillary in the race. I also doubt that there will be many Democrats carrying Webb signs at all. Not when the icons of liberalism are the other choices. Webb will probably not survive the first primary when, to a liberal, even O’Malley is a better choice. The smartest vice president in the history of the United States hasn’t even announced his candidacy yet.

I will admit that, despite my misgivings about Webb and his immature outburst in the White House, I would probably vote for Webb before many of the Republican candidates, though. But that is more of a testament to the dreary set of choices that the two parties have presented to the voting public than anything.

Democrat.. Republican…. Two ends of the same turd.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

Can I use that for a bumper sticker?

Maybe a campaign slogan…

Yeah, no question. Whatever hopeful doubt I had was dispelled thanks to Kleenex Bonehead and Bitch McConnell, both of whom wear knee pads under their slacks when visiting oBaMa. As for Webb, I would vote for him if–just kidding. He’s a punk.

nbcguy54ACTUAL

I’m suddenly liking Trump.

It’s time for my meds…

Yeh except a dumocrat thinks you can pick up a turd by the clean end!

I have read that our system is actually a one party state: “the Boot on Your Neck Party”. There is a Left boot and a Right boot.

My interpretation of that is: We support the boot that we imagine will step the lightest upon the necks about which we care.

Still the same pair, though. Bummer.

What was that quote of Malcom Reynolds? “I aim to misbehave.”

Can we draft LTC West? Now there is a leader

I am not settling for shit. No ‘get=along’ guys. No one who ‘compromises’ the Constitution or gives the other side 99% of what it wants to be inclusive. Screw that. A conservatives such as West I would happily support. I am also a Cruz fan. Everyone else can kiss my ass, including Rubio.

Poetrooper

Cav, no matter who the Republican candidate, you’d better hold your nose and vote Republican because all the Democrats are gun-grabbers and there likely will be Supreme Court appointments made during that term. and once the Dems have our guns, the rest of our freedoms will be low-hanging fruit for their Marxist aspirations.

We have to realize that most of America is not as conservative as many who post and comment here at TAH. And those folks in the middle, who we need on our side to win, simply won’t vote for a candidate the Dems are screaming is a right-wing extremist.

If a Republican president gets to appoint a replacement for Ginsburg, we’ll be in much better shape although I fear she’s going to step down and let Obama appoint a true Marxist to the court.

Remember, in terms of retaining our constitutional rights and freedoms, the worst Republican is a better choice than the best Democrat, whose party has shown itself clearly to be be anti-religion, anti-gun, pro-queer, pro-abortion and pro-Marxist.

They can only take your guns if you let them.

Apparently, the response to the registration portion of New Yorks “SAFE” act has been beyond dismal. According to the actul state numbers, only about 3% of those owning “assault” weapons under the new regulations have actually bothered to register them, as required by that new law.

If our fellow citizens in New York are willing to resist their fascist overlords in that pinnacle of gun-grabbing states, it’s doubtful that many else will.

Even up here in God’s country, we just passed, and the governor announced he will sign, a repeal of the requirement for a permit to carry concealed. 90 days after the legislature adjourns, it becomes law and anyone can legally carry concealed with no requirement for a permit.

So actually disarming the citizens will be problematic.

Having said that, I wouldn’t at all be surprised to see a Democrat president attempt to get such laws passed through a spineless and compliant/complicit Congress.

I have never voted for a Democrat for anything, and I never will.

11B-Mailclerk

At some point, those who wrote and passed that law will start making examples of those who fail to comply.

They must, or others might get the idea that obedience is optional.

And that they cannot tolerate. They will not tolerate it.

Several ordinary, no-record, peaceful, productive people will be tried, destroyed, convicted, and tossed into “general population” as examples to the rest.

I agree

A few words and catchwords come to mind when thinking of Mr. Webb:

Boring.

Completely unexciting….or, boring.

Tedious…..or, boring.

Unimaginative….or, boring.

Did I say….boring?

When there are choices like; Hillary, O’Malley, Bernie the Commie and Uncle Joe……I’d probably pick the boring guy if given no other alternative.

Shrillary can’t be trusted. We all know that. She’s only in this for herself. She can’t be trusted. If you think bodaprez is bad, remember he just doesn’t give a crap, but Shrillary is on a power trip. She can’t be trusted.

The rest – well, they’re stupid, self-serving, smug, and greedy. They are spendthrifts with other people’s money. They’d rather see Social Security go bankrupt by using it to pay the deficit than use some common sense and get rid of pork barrel budget black holes. They can’t think for themselves, so they don’t. They hate the ‘rich’ even though they themselves are the ‘rich’, so they tax them to death. They hate the only source of income for taxes – business – so they make it hard for businesses to make a profit. But they’re just stupid and narrow-minded and not very bright. You know what they’re going to do, because they keep doing it.

But shrillary? She’s already shown us what she’s like. She can’t be trusted.

Anyone who beats DAS HILDEBEAST is fine by me, the thought of her makes me sick, not to mention how media liberals snivel, droll, and slobber at her feet!

The Other Whitey

I’d be careful with that one. It’s a bit like saying, “Fidel Castro is okay because he’s less of a murderous psychopath than Stalin was.”

Poetrooper

I’ve read most of Webb’s books except his last, his memoir. His fiction is good reading mainly because of the military subject matter and the SE Asian locales. However, when I tried to read “Born Fighting” his account of the impact the Scots Irish immigrants and their descendants had on the making of this country, I found it a hard, dry, repetitious slog even though my heritage is Scots Irish so the subject matter interesting. My conclusion from that experience was that maybe Webb is better dealing with fantasy than reality.

Add to that his multiple marriages, his fickleness in political leanings and his petulant, disrespectful treatment of the commander-in-chief in a White House visit where he was a social guest, and I feel that this guy is just a bit too quirky for my tastes.

That said, no matter who the two candidates end up being, if you want to keep your guns you’d damned well better vote for the Republican because there will be Supreme Court appointments between 2016 and 2020 and Hillary/Bernie will for damned sure appoint gun-grabbers to the court.

Holden Magroin

Don’t leave out his famous article, “Women Can’t Fight” which went over like a turd in the punch bowl in the ’80s and I can’t imagine it would be regarded at the national level of politics today.

He’s a much of a democrat as Obama is a leader. I’m puzzled by this guy being in a party that openly hates people like him.

MK75Gunner

@FatCircles0311 Take a look at on the issues and you’ll find outside of his strong pro second amendment credentials he pretty much is indistinguishable from some of the most hated democrats.

He’s far from perfect but he’s 100000x better than any of the other Democrats (Biden is probably the next-least-bad option on that side, to be honest–that’s how far left they’ve gone). I’d take him over Christie and possibly Bush, too.

Of course he’s a straight white male combat veteran who likes the United States which means he has zero chance with the Democratic electorate.

Jarhead

For all the talk and opinions, does anyone REALLY think the next prez will actually be able to do ANYTHING for the good of this country? Ain’t gonna happen in this lifetime! Until the day comes when we kick every damned one of those parasites out of Congress AND the Senate together at one time, we can praise any individual and watch them fold like an accordian when elected. Over the years we have elected the best liars and accepted their excuses for not doing anything to stop the destruction of this country. Truth is, ALL politicians are born liars. How else could you get in front of a microphone and say, “Elect me (or re-elect me), I’m the BEST person for this job.” One thing I absolutely agree with on every post,,,Hillbillary is probably as close to the Anti Christ as any politician ever to announce.

Valkyrie

I’m watching “The Donald” on Twitter and giggling at all the people stroking his, ummm ego. We might be in for a shock. But no matter what parts I share with Hillary I truly don’t think she’ll be a good choice. But like Obama I’m afraid people will vote for her because they “share” some parts or because they look the same. If you get my meaning. I don’t think this country can or will survive another bad leader.

Jarhead

Damn! Get me on a rant about lying politicians and I can’t even spend five lousy minutes on a riding mower without going off at a mere blade of grass. The real problem with this country is the people who want to kiss some politician’s ass in public and think they are somebody when others see or hear of their friends in the company of a damned politician. No matter how this site has exposed some dirty low down valor seekers, there’s always some fool who wants to defend the idiot, no matter how severe his posing is discovered. Posers!! You want POSERS? Think ANY damned politician on any level in ANY state. If your man is so damned good then why in the hell is this country in the shape it is? So if he can’t do anything about it by himself, then what good is he doing? Sure you can point out little things every politician has done for the good, but if he were in fact so damned good, again Why Are We In The Shape We Are In? They raise their salaries without our input or concern, they make laws that do not apply to them, they perpetuate their life with bennies after having served as little as possible; I could go on and on. Get every damned one of them out of office once and for all. One term of “serving” your country and get the hell out of D. C. Sorry, no lifetime paycheck. Don’t you see politics has become a way of life for those who will stick together and play the game together. Bad guy one vote, good guy the next vote. Nothing but a game with the best of the best liars playing kings, pawns, and bishops on a rotating schedule. Nobody remembers “While Rome burns”…otherwise we’d have awakened beore now. And for any damned fool on this site that thinks he’s one of their friends, tell you what pal. You ain’t shit in THEIR minds. Keep in mind, every single one of us on this site are and have been… Read more »

Guys,
I am still waiting to hear from some of you as to what you think about Donald Trump, after all, he is running this election from his own pocket, this is a hellav more then you can say about the others. I know in my blog I did make alittle fun about him, but when you boil it all down to who’s who in being a golddigger and always looking for a hand-out Mr. Trump has proven that he’s very able to hold his own, even if he has a big mouth, so lets for the sake of not starting another Civil war say, may the best man win. “GO TRUMP” you have my vote.

Trump is a major supporter of the Clintons in the past. What, he just flipped circuits all of a sudden? Right.

Stalking horse. His role is to be the evil-strawman Republican that the Dems wish they were opposing.

Step one: ensure 99% Latino support for Dems.
Workin’ on it.
