Wednesday morning feel good story
Dana sends us our first story this morning from Massachusetts;
According to Sergeant John Delaney, just after midnight, two men began ringing the bell of a home on Webber Street, calling the resident the wrong name, and threatening to “light up the house”. They eventually kicked down the door. The resident was home with their three-year-old daughter at the time. The two men, identified as 24-year-old Jordan Eady and his 22-year-old brother Jason, refused to leave, and advanced on the homeowner who, feeling threatened, shot Jordan in the chest and arm. The Eady brothers then fled the scene and were stopped by officers.
Home invasion is better when you do it with family.
NR Pax sends us another one from Georgia.
In this case, a National Guardsman found himself highly outnumbered as he faced off against three would-be armed robbers.
According to media reports, the man, identified as 23 year old Joseph Toombs, was approached by several suspects at a Sonic Drive-Thru restaurant in DeKalb County, GA late last month. The suspects, at least one of whom was visibly armed, demanded money.
Toombs was able to draw his concealed handgun and open fire. One of the suspects was hit and the others fled.
Chief Tango sends us some more stories, the first is from California;
The coroner’s office identified the alleged intruder Monday morning as 32-year-old Cesar Garcia of Indio. Deputies said he was entering a home on the 41600 block of Adams St., just north of Avenue 42, around 3:30 a.m.
The homeowner said he was protecting two young children and their mother when he shot the intruder, said Riverside County Sheriff’s Sergeant Mike Manning.
According to the sheriff’s release, the first arriving deputy moved the family to safety and then found Garcia, who was still inside the home suffering from two gunshot wounds.
And, from Alabama;
The shooting happened about 3:40 a.m. at America’s Best Inn and Suites on Summit Parkway, confirmed police spokesman Sgt. Andrew Didcoct. A woman was inside her room, possibly with the door propped open, when a man came in and robbed her at gunpoint.
The woman pulled her own gun and shot the man, police said. The man was pronounced dead on the scene. He was not carrying any identification and his identity had not been released this evening.
Finally, from Tennessee;
Officials say two people were working inside of the home when two other men entered and attempted to rob the workers at gunpoint.
One of the robbery victims then shot one of the suspects. The wounded suspect was transferred to Regional one in critical condition.
The other suspect fled the scene and is still on the run as of Friday evening.

The Alabama story reminds me of why I always bring a riot gun when I know I’ll be staying at a motel. When I first arrived in Baton Rouge, I stayed at the Fountain Motel off Airline Hwy. Kept a few pistols within reach and a shotgun next to me in bed there.
Six months later a couple was found dead in an adjacent room: http://www.wafb.com/story/12273990/double-murder-from-last-year-remains-unsolved
It warms the cockles of my heart to read so many stories about good armed men and women successfully defending themselves against armed thugs, with some of the thugs even ending up dead.
“And the world is a more peaceful place, beginning now.”
In each of today’s stories, proper use of a legal handgun, changed the course of events. I like reading these.
In Massachusetts:
“The coroner’s office identified” and…
“The man was pronounced dead on the scene”…
Two of my favorite Feel Good Story outcomes.
