State police identify man, 62, shot by officers after Covington bank robbery Friday

David Ferrara
Authorities have identified the man shot by Covington police during an armed bank robbery Friday afternoon.

Kentucky State Police said 62-year-old Charles Davis, of Covington, was shot by city officers after being seen fleeing the U.S. Bank on the 600 block of Madison Avenue while armed with a weapon, according to a news release.

Covington police officers were on the lookout for a man matching Davis’ description after learning a robbery had taken place around 3 p.m. and found him less than a block from the bank shortly thereafter, the department said in a news release.

State police say Covington officers told Davis to drop his weapon, and during the encounter officers fired at Davis, wounding him with non-life-threatening injuries.

Davis was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was in stable condition as of Sunday morning, a state police spokeswoman told The Enquirer.

No officers or other injuries were reported during the robbery and subsequent shooting, authorities said.

One person injured in Covington Co. officer-involved shooting; SBI investigating

by: Aaron Dixon
COVINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — An investigation is underway into an officer-involved shooting on Sunday in Covington County.

Officers say that on Sunday morning, dispatch received multiple “911 hang-ups” from Chad Sheehan, a man police say has a history of domestic violence.

A deputy went to the home on County Road 21 in Red Level for a welfare check, and police say he noticed the lights in the house were on, and as he approached, a vehicle rammed through a gate, charging the officer.

Police say Sheehan, who didn’t live at the home, exited the vehicle with a firearm and charged at the officer. The deputy then fired several shots and hit Sheehan.

Mr. Sheehan’s dramatic entrance failed to impress the deputy. Links about two different Covingtons today thanks to our own Gun Bunny.

Kinda late in the morning to be the FIRST to comment. DaHell everybody hiding? A Covington twofer of WRT just shows that teh stoopid has no boundaries. Make a note, Tox, the AlaDAMNbama nutjob took a vehicle AND a firearm to a gunfight…to no avail.

For their sake, I hope the despots are under no delusion that I will give up my freedoms.

Lubs me some 1873 Winchester…’cept when they’re being used in a pre 1873 time frame Cowboy Motion Picture.

David

Should have a pool of worst anachronisms…My personal favorite is when you see Colt 1873s being used in the Texas Revolution (1835-1836), followed by Steve McQueen’s cut-down Winchester 1892 in “Wanted: Dead or Alive” which takes place just after the Civil War, before 1870. (Too many 1873s to count in that show)
