I’m glad you have your priorities straight: Threatening someone on teh internet that published unclassified information.
Nixon, TSO, AHF, etc. My old bs detector is starting to bump off the bottom a little concerning “Army Officer” as being what they say. I could be wrong, but just as with iservedupmyasstoeveryone talking about being stationed in Germany for 7 years with stops in the balkans, I get the sense that “Army Officer” isn’t one. I’m basing it on little things in their statements, how they are approaching the situation, etc.
I could be wrong (not that that’s happened before) and if I am, then this “Officer” is dumber than a fence post and is probably just short of getting rifted (I know, I’m using old slang, but that was the term when I was in) for being a dumbass anyway.
OT: Army Officer is indeed an Army field grade officer. Oddly enough, he hasn’t been to either of the current conflicts.
I wonder if he still wants to threaten me with the CID.
I don’t know, my prejudice against officers makes me think he’s exactly one.

I can’t fathom how a field grade officer could last what’s been what, 8 years of conflict with out ever being deployed?? Men and Women I know have volunteered from the guard, reserves, irr even to go and support the mission. I’d imagine you’d have to maneuver into solid desk jobs pretty frequently to not end up in the suck…or is it, he’s a pro at “the suck” back here in the states?

Usually the ones that never deploy are the ones that get stuck in training billets throughout their careers. TRADOC types that care more about reflective belts than actual issues and combat. Hell, even admin types deploy more than TRADOC careerists. That’s where my guess is.
And AS, I’ve got your back on this one. He’s got to be for real.

Makes sense to me. Any soldier that finds a desk job so that he can avoid a deployment is no better then a civilian who avoids the military….they want to enjoy this country and its freedoms but really do nothing to ensure its stability.

I will naturally assume that you contact CID everytime you run across personal information of military personel posted on the net. So you are regularly having the NYT investigated for leaking classified material. Now if you are not, then I see it as you using CID for political/personal issues- hence you are breaking the law and should resign your commission immediately for conduct unbecoming an officer, misuse of government resources, and so on.
Lol, hey guys, ARMY OFFICER says its wrong! Wrong like killing 13+ people and an unborn child? Or maybe wrong like serving for 12 years and getting 3 awards total. Well, not really awards, since everybody on active duty at the time got them, but…wait, maybe its as wrong as never fucking deploying and then being a big fucking crybaby about it.

#1- Present, non-contributing. That will be a finding concerning the release of the ORB during the official investigation into the shooting incident. And that will be one of the areas that the Army places misguided effort to fix because that is an area they can fix.
#2- I am currently one of the those TRADOC wienies (2x deployments- OIF 1/06-08)who has the pleasure of training a graduate course. Every class has a sprinkle of non-deployers. Usually recent flight school grads, return to active duty types, or NG who belong to a unit with UH1/OH58C/UH72, etc. But every class has at least one senior AD CW4/5 who has not deployed. Honduras, Korea, Sinai, NTC/JRTC, etc. are the usual hang outs of these pogues. And after a few minutes of talking with them, you realize that we are better off having most of them avoid the war. The Army is actively looking for these types so as they can be deployed. Or so they say.

Has the newest Commandant (CSM with 29yrs) of the US Army Drill Sergeant Academy been deployed yet?
Matt, I’ve run across the people you describe in #69 above, #2.. They gravitate to certain positions in the fire service and law enforcement. I’ve known Captains, Lt’s and sergeants in the PD who got off the street as soon as they could and never went back. They never worked 3rd shift, it was dark out there. Hell, my old department has a chief like that now.
Me or the pogues I have to train? I am embarrassed on some days when I have to get up front of a crowd of deployers and give a class on something that may save their life in combat. I am ashamed at times that I have only done two tours when some of my students are set to begin their third/fourth. I am embarrassed that I have known well over 30 Soldiers who have died in the current conflicts (most recent- CW3 Niall Lyons, Afghanistan, 26OCT09) and yet have the opportunity to go home every night. There are days when I feel that I have not done my part.

I just caught this site and his ORB via Blackfive. Their post brings up some interesting questions as to gaps in his timeline. I find it very interesting that he chose to list no religious preference. Seems way off base for anyone who is devout.
