Volkswagen Gets It Right
If you follow the news in Europe, environmental protests have been numerous and public:
A relentless outfit called Just Stop Oil in the UK has created disruptions everywhere from major highways to the British Formula 1 Grand Prix, and more recently, they threw tomato soup on a Van Gogh painting at the National Gallery in London. Across the Channel, the Tour de France cycling race was forced to pause during several stages by climate activists who’d glued themselves to the road.
Most recently, some of the lads decided to protest at the VW museum and glued their hands to the floor in the Porsche exhibit area Thursday.
The protesters have several requests for VW Group CEO Oliver Blume as listed in a Twitter thread about the event, among them: support for capping the maximum speed on German highways to 100 kilometers per hour (62 mph); hastening VW’s moves to lower its carbon emissions; canceling the debt and interest payments “owed to VW by the Global South”; and “pressure the [government] to comply with our demands.” Such protests are happening so often that there’s now a standard back-and-forth. A group disrupts traffic or makes a scene. Authorities are called in almost immediately. The media follow, capturing the ruckus as protesters are unglued or unchained or coaxed down.
Well, the staff decided to handle things a bit differently:
Instead of calling Wolfsburg police immediately, staff “recognized the right to protest,” then closed the pavilion for the evening and left — turning off the light and heat as they walked out.
One protester was removed for medical reasons. The rest stayed till Friday.
One protester who said of staff, “They refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued,” and, “We can’t order our food, we must use the one provided by Volkswagen. Lights off. Random unannounced checks by security guards with bright torches.”
Food and welfare checks? What more could VW have done? “Bathrooms? Sure….right over there.”

The picture above of the VW Bug brought back some memories. My first ever new car was a yellow 1971 Super Beetle for $1999 (as I recall, lol). Bought here on L.I.
I bought a brand new red 1970 Super Beetle in Germany in early 1970. I shipped it back to New Jersey for $105.00. It cost me only about $1600. Sold it to a friend when home on leave with only 6K on the odometer, just before I left for the Viet of the Nam.
Did you buy the the large key with the suction cup that was put on the rear engine hood and when turned made a cranking noise. We had one mounted on the main engine/turbine housing down in the Okinawa’s engine room and when the Mustang Chief Engineer saw it, all he said was Goddammit get it off after one of the Snipes told him that it was the key to the main engine.
Arrived in Schweinfurt back in 1983. I bought a ’72 VW Westphalia camper (American specs) for $500 from a CPT that was leaving. It had some rust and the fridge didn’t work but it served me well including trips back and forth to Grafenwöhr when the Bradley Battalion I supported was training. Had a DF authorizing me to transport weapons in it if I was shuttling troops on my trips.
Sold it for $400 when I left for Drum in 86. I still kick myself for not shipping it back. Waiting to see pics and prices for the 2024 VW ID Buzz van.
My neighbor just bought one, restored it, and sold it on EBay for over $35K.
Kudos to VW for ignoring these moonbats, and letting them wallow in their own filth. Hope they were all well soiled and hungry by the time they gave it up.

Apparently these Gluers have a “support staff”. (who knew?) After the doors were locked, and the place was shut down for the night, anytime the support staff went out for food, clean clothes, etc…..oops!…….they weren’t allowed back in to the area. Those doors stayed shut and locked for the night. Awwwwww……..
As I gaze into my cracked and cloudy crystal ball, I foresee more of this type of blowback as TPTB realize that these Gluers are nothing more than a VERY small minority, who speak only for the minority Libtard fringe left.
Several things I can think of to do to these Gluers as they are stuck in place, involving: knives, nail guns, ammonia or other noxious liquids, walking in boots, signs (Do Not Feed or Interact With The Hairless Primate), mocking, ignoring………
