Mr. Winter was treated for his bite wounds. K-9 Toki was just given treats with his belly rubs. And a road-kill possum to get the taste of Mr. Winter from his mouth. Don’t miss the video- the fun starts at 1:39.
Thanks again Gun Bunny.
Fatal shooting was self-defense under state’s ‘castle doctrine,’ Lehigh County DA rules
By Sarah Cassi | For lehighvalleylive.com
No criminal charges will be filed in a fatal shooting from this summer in Allentown, after Lehigh County’s district attorney found the shooter acted in self defense.Edwin Diaz-Rivera, 37, of Allentown, was shot in the body the night of July 9 in the 700 block of North 11th Street in the city, and later pronounced dead at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest in Salisbury Township, the Lehigh County coroner previously said.
Diaz-Rivera’s death was ruled a homicide. On Wednesday, District Attorney Jim Martin said he found the killing was justified self-defense under the state’s “castle doctrine.”

Refreshing to see DA’s on the ball.

What does Mr Sweeney mean, “No one shoots .45 ACP any more”?
Blasphemy!
I’m not, at the moment. My 1911 is at the smithy with an ejection problem.
Not to worry. I had the same problem. My doctor prescribed Viagra and cleared it right up.
Extractor Envy? 😆
Fortunately, my backup Glock 48 works as advertised every time.
I have had multiple 45 ACP pistols. They ranged from regular 5″ to Officers model. For the most part they functioned OK. I also have had more than one of their competitors handguns. They were more reliable and ran fine right out of the box. At this time, like the last several years 9mm is cheaper to buy than 45, or even 38.
Based on real world shootings / autopsy results with modern ammunition there is a statistically insignificant difference between the 45 and 9mm. Now if you limit it to ball only then yup 45 does outshine 9mm or 38 spl. as determined in the conflict with the Moros. Civilians and Police are not limited to ball. When it comes down to it, shot placement is far more critical than caliber. Solid hits center mass determines stops more than type or caliber of weapon. Use whatever you can shoot best.
To take a phrase from the real-estate industry:
“location, location, location.”
Shoot what ya’ got, but put ’em in the right locations every time.
I suppose I’m just another nobody.
Fine with me. I’m old, fat, and slow too. But on my drills the other day the rounds all ended up in the ‘hurt-ya-bad’ zone with reasonable-ish times.
No one shoots .45 ACP anymore?
Step away from the crack pipe, Mr. Sweeny.
Look down the business end of my Sig P-220 and say that
No missile like a Fur Missile. Launches on command, tracks in and brings dam dam upon target every time. And they can keep your feet warm on a cold winter night.
A DA that followed the law and used some common sense? DaHell!?!
Too bad Ford didn’t get a fair chance at being an elected Prez. We might still own the Canal that we built.
Wonder how much they paid “Mister” (sneered in a derisive tone) Sweeney to gush like a Miss Congeniality over that plasticized abomination? Limp wrist soi bois don’t shoot .45 anymore. There, fixed it for him. *spits*
Josey Wales, where’s that Red Boned Hound? I need a Grrrr.
