Las Vegas clerk killed self after shooting customer with no mask, police say

A convenience store clerk who killed himself minutes after shooting a customer who refused to wear a mask and walked out without paying for three bags of chips would have faced criminal charges if he had survived, a police report said.

The 6 February shootings on the north-west edge of Las Vegas came four days before Governor Steve Sisolak lifted Nevada’s Covid-19 mask mandate.

The 36-year-old cashier at the Terrible’s gas station and store was pronounced dead at the scene due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said.

The 26-year-old customer’s ex-girlfriend took him to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the shoulder, police said.

Officers interviewed him and a witness corroborated his account of the incident.

Police were called to West Centennial Center Boulevard near US Highway 95 at about 8.30am on 6 February.

Detectives recovered the Glock handgun used in both shootings and four shell casings and reviewed surveillance video before filing the report on 9 February.

“Due to the facts and circumstances learned at the time of the incident, [the clerk] would have been charged if he survived with battery with [use of a deadly weapon],” the report said.

KLAS-TV first reported the incident the Associated Press obtained a redacted copy of the police report through a public records request.

Police say the clerk yelled at the customer to put on a mask or leave the store but he refused and placed three bags of chips on the counter. The clerk refused to serve the man, who walked outside with the chips without paying.

The clerk followed him and started recording him with his cellphone camera. The customer became upset, advanced toward the clerk and “a struggle quickly ensued”.

“Once the physical fight was broken up”, the clerk pulled a handgun from his pocket and fired three times at the victim, striking him once in the shoulder, the report said.

The victim ran to a tire store and was picked up by his ex-girlfriend in a van. The clerk made a call on his cellphone and argued with someone on the line. Moments later he fired one round to the right side of his head, police said.

A police officer wrote in the report that when he arrived, the man was still holding the handgun and cellphone, lying on his back with no pulse and blood coming from his head.

Wanted Florida man caught after passing out drunk in McDonald’s drive-thru, deputies say

A wanted Florida man was caught Friday after he passed out drunk in the drive-thru line at a McDonald’s and caused a backup of cars, authorities said.

Luis Salinas, 35, had a warrant out for his arrest in connection to the sexual battery of a child, the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Deputies said that “it was quite a pleasant surprise” when they discovered it was Salinas who was “conked out and blocking people from their Big Macs at the Avon Park Mickey D’s.”

Despite the other patrons yelling at Salinas, he stayed asleep until deputies opened his door and allegedly attacked them.

“Unlike his victim, our deputies can fight back,” the sheriff’s statement read.

During the scuffle, Salinas “slightly injured” one deputy before he was taken into custody, according to authorities.

Salinas, who deputies said had a blood alcohol level of .179, was booked into jail on the felony warrant and additional charges of battery on a law enforcement officer, DUI, driving with a suspended license, and resisting arrest.

Following the arrest of Salinas, deputies had a message for those being sought by law enforcement.

“Pro tip: If you have a warrant – especially for charge that can get you a life sentence – you probably should not drink and drive,” the sheriff’s office said. “You definitely should not drink and drive and pass out in the drive-thru lane at McDonald’s.”

4-year-old fires gun at officers during Midvale shooting incident

Police said a 4-year-old child fired a gun at officers on the order of their father during an incident Monday at a McDonald’s in Midvale [Utah].

According to the Unified Police Department, the incident occurred at 425 West 7200 South. A man identified as Sadaat Johnson, 27, in a Honda allegedly brandished a gun at restaurant drive-thru workers after they gave him an incorrect order.

The workers called police after telling Johnson they would fix his order.

When police arrived, they were able to locate and remove Johnson from the vehicle. However, once Johnson was outside, an officer noticed “a firearm coming outside the vehicle,” according to UPD Sheriff Rosie Rivera. The officer was able to deflect the weapon, which discharged into a restaurant awning.

Police identified the person who discharged the weapon as a 4-year-old child who was allegedly told to fire the gun by their father. The child was in the backseat of the car with their three-year-old sibling.

Officers did not fire back after the child fired the weapon.

“This campaign against police officers, this needs to stop. We’re here to protect and serve, and this is getting out of hand,” said Rivera. “This is a child who thought it was okay to pull a firearm and shoot that firearm at police. I’ve never seen anything like this in my 28 years.”

Although the officer was able to deflect the firearm, he did receive a small injury to his arm.

Johnson was taken into custody and faces charges of felony child abuse and threatening the use of a dangerous weapon.

I can’t believe the “journalist” thinks that it’s necessary to say that the cop didn’t shoot the toddler.

Whiskey still confiscated from downtown Prattville porch; charges pending against homeowner

Surprised authorities confiscated a whiskey still from a downtown Prattville home Friday afternoon.

The Autauga County Sheriff’s Office and Prattville Police Department worked the case, with assistance from agents of the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. The ABC Board regulates liquor trade in the state.

Charges are pending against the homeowner, said Sheriff Joe Sedinger. The owner was not home when the still was confiscated and has been given the opportunity to turn himself in.

Since the homeowner has not yet been arrested, Sedinger did not release the address of the home. But, perhaps ironically, it’s about two blocks from the courthouse, where the sheriff’s office is, and about two blocks from the public safety building, where police headquarters is located.

The still had been on the back porch of the home, and was spotted by a deputy who went to the home to deliver court papers, the sheriff said. It appeared the still had been on the porch for a long time.

It was not operating when it was seized, but a large container of mash was nearby.

The mash would be distilled to make alcohol. There were also several empty, plastic gallon milk jugs nearby, which Sedinger said were probably used to hold the illegal hooch.

Finding stills is not common, even in the sticks.

“I think we have found three or four stills in all the time I’ve been with the sheriff’s office,” Sedinger said. He’s been with the office more than 30 years, serving the past eight as sheriff. “All the other stills we found were out in the county, usually in thick cover where they couldn’t be found easy.”

The owner of the house will face a charge of illegal possession of a whiskey making device, Sedinger said. The charge is an unclassified felony, and code section doesn’t list a punishment range.

‘Public safety officer’ assists in traffic stop – but he wasn’t a cop, GA police say

Armed with his gun and badge, a Georgia “officer” stepped in to assist police during a felony traffic stop in metro Atlanta last week.

But the gun was a fake and so were his credentials, according to Cartersville police.

Justin Greene, 29, was arrested in Bartow County on Wednesday, Feb. 23, and charged with impersonating a police officer, authorities said in a news release. Greene claimed he was a “public safety officer,” police said, and flashed a phony firearm when he tried helping officers with a stop on Feb. 18.

He “attempted to assist officers in bringing two suspects into custody at gun point” and left the scene before anyone could identify him, according to the release.

Greene was arrested days later in what looked like an unmarked squad car “complete with lights and a siren,” authorities said. Officers also seized several items from the car, including more fake firearms, tactical gear and authentic-looking Georgia police credentials.

Greene was booked into the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office Jail, where he remained held on $12,000 bond as of Thursday, Feb. 24, online records show. He also faces charges of willful obstruction of a law enforcement officer, reckless conduct and unauthorized vehicle with red/amber lights.

Cartersville is about 40 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta.

Armed Portland Antifa Pick Fight With Violent Biker Gang Then Blame POLICE When Things Get Violent

Gunfire erupted when violent Antifa militants appear to have picked a fight with a notorious Portland, Ore. area biker gang.

Antifa lost.

At least one person ended up dead and five others were injured in Portland Saturday night.

Portland Police are still sorting things out, but what we know is that police were called on Saturday night shortly after 8 p.m to a disturbance that quickly escalated into gunfire.

Portland Police said, “this incident started with a confrontation between an armed homeowner and armed protesters.”

As Portland Police Public Information Officer Lt. Nathan Sheppard attempted to update the media on the shooting melee in Northeast Portland, two known Antifa militants took over the news conference, commandeered the microphones, and began blaming the police for failing to do their jobs to protect them.

According to Antifa protesters who took over the presser, identified by the Post Millennial as “Hailley Nolan and Dustin Ferreira,” the previous night their comrades had gone to confront members of notorious Portland area biker gang the Gypsy Jokers. Police say at least one of the Antifa militants was armed (which they usually are).

Nolan, who appeared to have trouble breathing, said it was the Portland Police Bureau’s fault when a woman died in the shooting melee and five others were wounded.

“They are sending Gypsy Jokers to kidnap us,” she breathlessly announced. She pointed to Lt. Sheppard and accused the police of encouraging the violence against Antifa, saying “they are sanctioning this violence against us. We are dying. We are trying to peacefully protest and they are killing us. And I want to know if any of you care. I want to know if Ted Wheeler cares.” See the video below.

She indicated why they took over the news conference by admitting “we are not going to let them capture the narrative and lie,” as she pointed to the police.

We can understand why. When you’re Antifa and you pick a fight with a biker gang, Antifa looks pretty dumb.

While the media watched, the Antifa goons chased the lieutenant back to his patrol car and attempted to surround it — their favorite trick.

I grew up in Portland. Ever since I was a kid I’d heard about the Gypsy Jokers. You. Don’t. Mess. With. The. Gypsy Jokers. Capice? The Portland Gypsy Jokers are reputedly among the most violent, drug dealing, anti-social biker posses this side of the Hells Angels. They’re some bad dudes. Worse than Corn Pop.

Antifa and their BLM wingmen have done nothing but denigrate the Portland Police for the past two to three years, demanding they be defunded because “they are killing us,” according to the white woman at the presser.

Let’s just step back for a second to observe the irony that Portland Antifa has been at the forefront of calling for defunding police. Portland’s police department has been decimated by the defunding after city commissioners and the mayor took these Antifa dunces’ word that there should be fewer cops. Forced vaccinations took another swath of cops off the job. Portland’s Antifa was part of Gov. Kate Brown’s mask and vaccine shock troop enforcement as well.

The violent, childish Antifa came up against a notorious, violent biker gang, which, unlike police, will fight back.

Antifa 0, Gypsy Jokers 1.

Last I checked the police had ordered the Banditos, Outlaws, The Highwaymen, Sons of Silence and the Pagans to capture as many Antifa as possible. They said the Antifa weren’t brave enough and woke enough to try to stop them.

Odie

Loved the antifa story. Whiney little beaches discovered not everyone is intimidated by their tactics.

While it sucks somebody died, I have zero sympathies to give to that individual. I guess it pays to know who you are attacking before doing so.

Sadaat Johnson thought it was take your kid to work day.

That Georgia pavement predator sure did set an example for his chillin. (He recently moved to Utah from Georgia.)

The answer is no, we don’t care. Antifa sees no irony in demonizing the Police for years and demanding that they be disbanded, then are upset that Police are not protecting them while they have their mostly peaceful protests at the homes and businesses they deem unfit to exist in their idea of Utopia.

Dear Pantyfa – Teddi Soi Boi doesn’t care about you… and it must suck getting your assses kicked by the Gypsy Jokers and calling for the police that you wanted to be defunded.

To bad the clerk shot himself. He would have been better off a head if he didn’t.

Utah is, sadley, swirling the drain into “Woke” idiocy via their”church”/cult leaders.

SgtBob

Urban stills. One was in a shed in the back yard of a house in Texarkana, Ark. I was a newspaper reporter at the time and got there to talk to the po-leece. The detective in charge was walking around demanding, “Where’s the newspaper photographer? We’re losing light! Where’s the photographer?” Tosser with inflated importance.

To be a list of truly STOO-PEAD people, you need some politicians. I’ll start: Putin, Biden, Pelosi…

BTW, Big Dick Energy to Zelensky…he’s got some.

I know a lie when I read one. This Sir, is a lie.

Angels, Jokers, Bandits… one huge mistake ‘tough’ guys make is thinking “I can take him.” Problem is, you’re not taking on him – you are taking on THEM. And even if you win this time, there will come a next.

HMCS(FMF) ret

They don’t forget stuff like that… and there will be a time for payback, on THEIR terms.

President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neande

Ummmmm……aren’t you allowed to make a certain amount of moonshine for your own consumption? I think that po-po should have been asking questions instead of automatically confiscating the still.

Sadly, no. You can make beer and wine, but homebrewing the strong stuff, in any amount, is a no-go at the federal level. Really all about the taxes, but they also do cite some safety concerns (my lean is more towards the taxes).

Pave Pusher

It shouldn’t be illegal in any way to make your own alcohol.

The Stranger

You can make your own alcohol…you just can’t distill it. You can make huge amounts of beer or wine for personal consumption in most places, talking about a couple hundred gallons. You just can’t put fire to it (distilling).

Skivvy Stacker

When did McDonald’s drive thrus become crash pads for drunk drivers?

Ever since this guy showed up…

So is it legal in Alabama to make your own cleaning alcohol? No advisable to be putting drinking alcohol in plastic milk jugs…all the PCBs tend to come out of the plastic and make it very impure.
In SC you can run a small still to make cleaning solutions, but have to apply for a permit to make beverage stuff. Hopefully the home owner has a good lawyer, but it sounds like they may have been already in the deep stuff if they were being served.
