No  overwhelming news to spout off on at this point – Epstein is still dead, Trump still in office, Democrats are outraged… so we’ll hit a few little items.

Remember a couple of weeks back when we talked about the bow of the USS New Orleans being found in Iron Bottom Sound off Guadalcanal?  Scientists are reporting finding parts of the USS DeHaven, which sank in February 1943 after repeated bombings and taking 167 of her crew with her.

The USS DeHaven, which was sunk during an attack off the Solomon Islands in World War II, still has torpedoes and a bell that are largely intact, according to the Ocean Exploration Trust, a nonprofit that recently surveyed and filmed the wreckage with remotely operated vehicles.

The DeHaven went down in February 1943, after operating out of Guadalcanal throughout the U.S. military campaign there, according to the Destroyer History Foundation. The ship was bombed multiple times and eventually sank, with 167 crew members on board, near Iron Bottom Sound, a section of the ocean near the Solomon Islands known for its WWII-era shipwrecks.CBS News

The Ocean Exploration Trust is the same group which discovered the bow of the New Orleans.

Somehow I was sure that alcohol played a role in this one. Yep, it did.

A 60-foot private vessel collided with the USS Midway in San Diego on Friday afternoon, leading to the arrest of its captain for allegedly boating under the influence and fleeing the scene, according to a Harbor Police spokesperson.

The collision occurred just before 2 p.m. on July 18, officials confirmed to Fox News Digital.

Authorities say the vessel struck the hull of the USS Midway, leaving a visible dent on the side of the historic decommissioned aircraft carrier, which now serves as a naval museum and popular tourist attraction.  Fox News

How do you lose sight of a 1000 foot  aircraft carrier? I hear that elephants blend surprisingly well into bush, and you can almost run into one if you aren’t careful, but their outline is broken by brush. Not sure there is enough brush around San Diego to break up the outline of that much hull. Oh, and the idiot did an estimated $100,000 in damage – looked like a long dent and some paint scrapes on the hull, so it ain’t gonna just buff out.

And in closing, if you live in Boston and have strayed recently from the straight and narrow, you just might have gotten lucky. Not with a person of the opposite sex, but with your case.

More than 120 cases, including some for assault on family members and police, were dismissed Tuesday in Boston, the latest fallout from a monthslong dispute over pay that has led public defenders to stop taking new clients.

At a mostly empty courtroom, Boston Municipal Court Chief Justice Tracy-Lee Lyons invoked the Lavallee protocol in dismissing case after case. It requires cases be dropped if a defendant hasn’t had an attorney for 45 days and released from custody if they haven’t had one for seven days. Tuesday was the first time it was invoked to drop cases, while suspects in custody have been released in recent weeks.

Most were for minor crimes like shoplifting, drug possession and motor vehicle violations.

Not all, though – some were cases of domestic violence, assault on police officers – more serious crimes.

The judge, repeatedly invoking the Lavallee protocol, dismissed almost all of the cases after being convinced public defenders had made a good-faith effort to find the defendants an attorney. No defendants were in court to hear their cases being dismissed.

“This case will be dismissed without prejudice,” Lyons said repeatedly, noting that all fines and fees would be waived.  AP

Prosecutors weren’t happy, but legally there is not much they, or the judge, can do. Note that bright spot at the end, though – “without prejudice” means charges can be re-filed, so it’s not like she is allowing all the defendants to walk scot-free.

Bawstan. Once my home, but no longer for too many decades.
From the Cradle of Liberty to the septic tank of Liberalism.
Someday I may return for a brief visit to listen to the Boston Pops do the 1812 Overture (complete with cannons and church bells) and a HS reunion. Someday.

A coworker from my AF days liked to tell anybody not from Boston, that back in the day “we weren’t going to let you have a (pick any state or city west of Boston)”.
I believe he was from Concord.

A little Motrin and sail it out…no biggie, but MAN, lose an entire bow of your ship? That’s gonna leave a scar!

I’m not expert on flying and sailing but if these guys can still fly:

Than that boat should be able to sail.

Be that as it is our 50+ year old fleet of F15s suddenly started to degrade when Trump took over. Definitely need a fix.

A little rust, a little mud, what’s wrong with a little hillbilly camouflage. 🙂

The bride wore white and he wore his best overalls. A keg of natty lite and it’s the social event of the summer!

I’d like to know if these limousine liberals have ever looked at the paint job on a commercial aircraft. I’ve seen more than one that had more peeling paint than a cow barn after a harsh winter. Paint is weight and lowering the weight can allow for another paying customer.

5JC

The one I flew on yesterday (smaller commuter jet) had large paint peels in four different places, but no visible corrosion.

Paul (of the ballsack) Wickre might be getting a call.

Being a “Lawer” and all.

Hack Stone

Hard to call him when he no longer has a phone. Or a home. Or a job. Or a reputation.

Scratch that last one, he does have a reputation. It may not be a good reputation, but it is a reputation.

A Proud Infidel®™

Does he still even have a worn-out old Jaguar to sleep in?

Odie

Is he the reason jaguar sales have dropped better than 90%?

  • This is going to leave a mark, visible with the naked eye from the ISS.

Lori Benton might be hiring….

Not sure. But in addition to filing for personal bankruptcy for the third (fourth?) time, he was also recently sued by Bank of America and the rental company that he stiffed on Lonesome Pine Lane just off the River Road exit of the Capital Beltway. Looks like the owner of that housed won’t be getting any money from Psul and Karen, as they have no assets and there is a long line of creditors ahead of him. Psul was living the good life, residing in a 5 bedroom home that rented for $6500 a month. It’s easy to live comfortably when you don’t pay rent.

These guys with these yachts that are asleep at the switch, I guess they just have money to flush down the toilet.

Musical or not, it always seems these deaths come in 3s of famous people.

Trump and Hulkster got along well despite their plus sized egos and personalities.

Blaster

I think Trump gets along with most people. At least he always did until he ran for president on the GOP side and THEN,,, became a racist, bigoted, male chauvinistic, xenophobic,,, blah, blah, blah, blah!!!!

Odie

And he quit writing contribution checks to individual candidates.

A Proud Infidel®™

THE SAME Candidates who once tirelessly kissed up to him for contributions, and as soon as the gravy train stopped, they turned on him.

Dude had more name recognition than the Pope in his day.

Left/libtard rag Slate is already Hulkster-bashing ’cause he supported Trump (trying to sound “objective” about it, but not succeeding):

Until he went of the top rope and dropped the leg drop.

I read that article, as hard as it was to get through it. I could feel the politics oozing out of it. What a tool that author is. Can you imagine having to sit through dinner with this person? I wasn’t a huge Hulk Hogan fan. I didn’t dislike him either. Funny, how this “writer”, decides to “be honest” after the man passes away. They (the left) tend to do that. Don’t they?🤔

I want to ask that author:

Who woulda thunk a 60ft boat could put a dent in a carrier?

Blaster

It wasn’t size, it was velocity and pressure.

Been saying so for YEARS!

Odie

Good thing it only had a drunk boat captain and not “somebodies” wishing to do serious harm.

SFC D

The somebodies now know how easy it could be.

No room for fun and comedy anymore!

We are built different because those that brought us up were different!!!

Hopefully, the new breed finds the way before it’s too late!!!

Green Thumb

The Hulkster was in the Happy Meal.

Enough said.
