Oath Keepers on 60 Minutes
Last night – Sunday 18 April 2021 – the show “60 Minutes” had as their lead story a segment on Oath Keepers.
They stated how prominently that the Oath Keepers were involved in the Capitol riots on January 6th and how people may not know that much about them. They promoted the group as a well-organized, well-trained paramilitary militia made up of ex-military and ex-law enforcement.
They mentioned Jessica Watkins but failed to mention she served as a man. We wrote about her here.
They also featured and interviewed James Arroyo, who we wrote about here.
Arroyo is the leader of the Arizona chapter of the Oath Keepers which is their largest chapter. Although he did not go much into his own personal background, he reiterated the military and law enforcement background that the Oath Keepers have. He basically says in the interview that his group departs in philosophy from the Oath Keepers that stormed the Capital building. They are not us type-of-thing.
It was an interesting segment overall but promoted the idea that the Oath Keepers are representative of an aspect of right-wing thinking and are a group of respected ex-military and ex-law enforcement. This could not be further from the truth. We have found the Oath Keepers to be a band of misfits and wannabe embellishers, including Arroyo himself.

Were you expecting a fact based reporting from CBS or 60 minutes?
They are there to sell a narrative that everyone on the right is a traitor and a seditionist, not to provide actual news reporting.
The network’s acronym can generally be translated as, “See? BS!”
👍👍👍
Only three?
While you guys are shitting all over a man you have NEVER met or spoken with in person, and squabbling over Tabbed vs. Scrolled, your fucking country is being overtaken by the enemies of Our Constitutional Republic. Also, throwing EVERY person in the Oath Keepers into your cauldron of hate is pathetic as well. Congratulations you keyboard commandos, WE ALL LOSE, EVERYTHING…
These tools? PHUQUE THEEM!
And 60 minutes? PHUQUE THEEM TOO!
Let’s see. The regulars around here represent about a bazillon years of total military and law enforcement experience. Add to that the number of our friends and associates and it more like a gazillion years or so.
Has any of those veterans ever shown one iota of support for the Oafs? If so, I missed it. All we have read around here is the opposite. Yet, as has been their pattern for decades, the media finds the most clownish caricature of either the military or law enforcement and puts that forward as representative of the career. The Oafs serve them well in doing so.
Oh, well. Who still expects the media to be remotely concerned about the truth? They are pretty consistent in going to great lengths to do otherwise.
The Commie BS’s work on this piece is sorta like that fake reality show about the New KKK, where they basically scripted and created their own little cell of Klansmen for the program.
They have the Dan Rather tradition to live up to:
1) His treacherous reporting on Vietnam Vets as all being homeless drug addicts.
2) His libel against George Bush based on phony documents.
Are you saying there was no Microsoft Word program back in 1972 with which to type such phony documents on a PC computer? Color me shocked!
I don’t know enough about them to know if I support them or not. Haven’t seen any actual evidence that I should not support them.
Translation = veterans and police represent a radical threat.
Goes to show you that if you don’t speak up for yourself, you get lumped in to fit a false narrative.
The tone and message is changing. I see it more often that if you are conservative in your thinking and lean right, you are radical and represent a threat to mainstream thinking – as they define it.
Daisy Cutter
This is the point. A narrative is being built brick by brick and too many Americans are too stupid or too lazy to think for themselves. Those who have a moment of mental discord between the narrative and their memories are being cowed into re-remembering correctly, or, are receiving the message that questioning the narrative makes them dangerous. Afterall, it is everywhere in the news…disagreement, even questioning, the narrative means being canceled, losing friends, a job, and being lumped in with “those” people.
Soon, such tactics will no longer be necessary. The ability to think for oneself, being a critical consumer of information is being educated out of the population.
Then again, we could look at all this as an act of desperation because the narrative isn’t working, people do think for themselves and the sought after total control is slipping further from reach with every iteration of the narrative. Yeah, I’m probably being naively hopeful.
Nothing new here.
Note that it’s April 19th – 26th anniversary of the day Army veteran Timothy McVeigh blew up the Murrah building in OKC.
Alarmists have been warning about “extremists in the military” since before a lot of our current crop of soldiers was even born.
I was on active duty then and I well remember the moral panic about “extremists in the ranks of the US Military.”
It’s an old go-to for the media in these days when going after muslim extremists or anti-fa types gets too much heat.
And unfortunately, dumbases like the goat keepers just fan the flames because being a scary bunch of potential terrorists featured on 60 minutes is easier on the ego than admitting that the only group you belong to is Cletus Spucker’s Trailer Park Militia down in Incest Holler.
I would not give 60 minutes one minute of my time.
I’ve never watched 60 minutes and never will. The only 60 minutes I will listen to is “60 Minute Man” by Billy Ward and his Dominoes 1951 on Federal. I’m Sure Beans will put it up on youtube.

Out-phreekin-standing!
Of course, ow that I’ve got a little taste, the rest of my night is shot–going to Youtube & Dorothy Moore, the Chi-Lites, Glen Miller, …..
I love this internet thing.
Well no surprise here as far as 60 secs is concerned.
WHY?! would anyone with more than one brain cell to rub together, voluntarily put themselves on, and be interviewed by, any of the DeMSM Lame Stream Media?
If I join the Oath Keepers can I claim Green Beret since I once served as a radio guy in a Group Signal Detachment?
You can get one of those Ranger Up shirts that says You were Special Forces (in big type), and in little type says you were at a base that Special Forces deployed from and envied their Chow Hall!
I attended an SF show-and-tell once and managed to jam up an FN rifle so even the weapons Sgt. couldn’t fix it. He was a bit irritated. Embarrassed, too, I think. ‘Cause that’s the kind of sojer I was.
What’s to envy about their chow hall? Snakes taste like chicken, don’t they?
I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member.
Groucho Marx
The Communist Broadcast System has been a dedicated part of the DNC Pravda for decades and I haven’t wasted my time watching 60 Minutes in the past 30 years!
News organizations know there are two guaranteed ways to get people’s attention:
1. Titillation
2. Fear
Don’t believe me? Just look at any online news feed:
[some woman who is famous for something] Posed Nude In Her Front Yard and We Love It!
This ‘Secret Ingredient’ Is Actually Poison And May Be In Your Kitchen!
The Top Sex Trick You Need To Know Right Now!

[some other woman on the internet] Posed Topless To Support Black Lives Matter And We Can’t Get Enough!

Etc, etc.
Painting the Goat Keepers as a bigger-than-life army of highly trained militants who are a threat to democracy makes them seem scary and gets people to watch.
Accurately portraying them as a bunch of sad-sack wanna-be’s and never-were’s playing dress-up and being generally the bumbling losers that they are wouldn’t scare anybody.
No fear = no eyeballs and No eyeballs = no $$$ from sponsors.
That’s really what it’s about. The fact that it also supports a generally leftist narrative is more of a bonus than a deliberate calculation.
Oath Keepers = Extra Losers.
Oath Keepers. Another example of a good idea led astray. Sounds like a great organization when you read what they claim to stand for. In actual practice, it’s a shit sundae of posers, wannabees, military failures and assorted generic dipshits that shouldn’t be allowed near children or farm animals. I wonder what Josie Wales would say…
So, instead of “hide the women and children and children” is should be “hide the sheep and children” instead?
‘military failures and assorted generic dipshits”
Sounds like our Commo Platoon back in the day…..
Sounds like nearly every Commo Platoon I was ever in. Cable Dawgs just ain’t normal folks, and the radio guys had RF exposure issues.
sounds like your friendly local “Unit Police” (do they still have them?).
Josey Wales would say “To hell with those fellas. (spit). Buzzards got eat, same as the worms.”
I’m starting a new organization of wannabes
That name is going to be Fart-Keepers
That’s right we are going to protect people’s
Right too fart. LMFAO !!!!!!
All you need to apply is be a Bat Shit Crazy a
Washout.
From any branch of the military or Law enforcement
Any takers????
Would be a taker, but can generate plenty of my own…
“Any takers????”
Naw, I’m a giver.
And just remember: If you love your freedom, thank a vet.
And if you love to party, thank the Beastie Boys because they fought for that right.
Let me break this down into the simple terms:
If you join an organization filled with idiots…
And they do something idiotic…
And you can’t understand why people think you are an idiot…
You are an idiot.
tshe,
Well well well.
Based on this VG page,
I looked up our local outspoken Oath Keeper.
The guy who tried (and failed) to recruit me. Twice.
The guy who was on FakeBook with handshake photo ops
with local and state politicians.
Well, I can’t find his FakeBook page anymore.
He is now on Twitter, with this.
And, on his LinkedIn,
he has announced that he is about to split for MONTANA.
It looks like his racist jokes and Oath Keeper magic
has run out of steam,
and the toucan up his sleeve flew away.
To Montana.
Just thought you (all) would enjoy this update.

So, do Oathkeepers do their training with Meal Team 6 down at the local Golden Corral/Trough?
HMCS(FMF),
Golden Corral, yes,
but….
Only on the Monday after Veterans Day.
You know, the free meal for veterans.
Or veteran looking types
with patched up phony badass black leather vests.
Or veteran looking types
with black caps with bold yellow letters.
Yes, I live in a Golden Corral town,
but I only do the drive by on Veterans Freebie day,
to watch the lines,
and spot the (annual return of the same) PHONIES.
Did the GC once for that, never went back.
Never saw some many fat, pathetic military wannabes in my life.
Green Thumb,
Same here. Once. Long ago.
As if the long line wait of bullshit front and rear wasn’t bad enough,
it continued at the tables inside.
Luckily, I was invited to sit with an old couple,
a Vietnam Veteran Major and his wife
(apparently I looked officerly),
and they clued me in quick to the bullshit gab and posers all around us.
An enjoyable meal, only due to our eaves dropping on the neighboring tables, and the joint laughs and ughs over the sheer volume of bullshit.
And patches.
60 Minutes of Lies.
Lumped in… that didn’t take long.
I believe that every time there is an unfounded accusation of “racism” it should be quickly countered with an accusation of “race-baiter.”
It may be the one thing that reverses this ugly trend.
Besides that, I truly believe it is race-baiting.
