Muslim Patrol Cars now on the streets of America
The notion that Muslims think there are streets in this country that are considered “theirs” to patrol is absurd. I thought this was click bait being posted by a few loons but as it turns out it is real news.
The New York Police Department had to issue a statement saying that this Muslim Patrol is not sanctioned or endorsed by them.
New York’s Muslim community created a “security patrol” in Brooklyn’s Bay Ridge neighborhood in November of 2018. The “Muslim Community Patrol” car is outfitted to look like an NYPD vehicle, complete with a nearly identical logo.
But the police department told PJ Media that the vehicle is not sanctioned by the department and that it must obey the law.
It should be noted that other racial and religious groups in New York City have community patrols as well.

Ya, well I have no support for other “Religious” groups having patrol cars on the streets of America either. It will be a matter of short time before these Patrols are out enforcing sharia law in parts of America now considered Muslim territory.
This kind of thing needs to be put to a stop. Maybe some of you support this … you know who you are. I suspect if you do not support it then Liberals will consider your criticism of it a form of hate speech. Because feelings are more important than freedom.

If you put stickers and logos on your car that are in any way similar to NY City Police and it didn’t say “Muslim patrol” you’d be ticketed. Your car would probably even be impounded for impersonating law enforcement.

Private security patrols have been around for a long time. They have been required to NOT look like the real thing. No reason for this to be handed differently from how any other private patrol.
I have never mistaken a Mall cop for the real thing. Especially the vehicle.

This kind of crap pisses me off. Lots of groups do this in metropolitan areas. And rich communities did it for years to create their own unwelcome party to harass anyone that comes into their neighborhood that does not “belong”.
I think any that uses the same designs and colors as the local, cointy, or state police that also operate in the community ought to be allowed to be seized and impounded.
I also think only legitimate law enforcement should be allowed blue lights anywhere in the country and any vehicle equipped with them ought to be impounded and the lights removed at owner’s expense.
And only licensed emergency vehicles should be allowed red lights and sirens.
Private citizens, businesses, and groups should only be allowed yellow.
So if one of these asshats flashes their lights to pull you over you know they are clowns pretending to be ciommunity enforcement.

There is nothing “ignorant” about wanting to standardize lights and siren colors.
It has been discussed for years but our country is a disorganized hodge lodge of jurisdictions and agencies and we can’t even get effective coordination for more important issues so this has never been done.
And executive order standardizing it for all future equipment purchases by federal emergency services and law enforcement would likely lead to broader adoption of the standard at state and local levels.

Emergency lights are standardized, at the STATE level. It is the venue of the states to set those rules, not the Federal government.

My post is not saying how things are now. It is saying how things should be.
Red and white or yellow; authorized emergency vehicles.
Blue and red, white, and/or yellow; law enforcement.
Yellow and white; private security, tow trucks, construction etc.
That way when you see blue you know it is law enforcement.
Red emergency services, which includes law enforcement.
Only yellow then it is neither.
We standardize colors for a lot of safety purposes on our roadways. StandardiIng colors for law enforcement and emergency services makes sense.
It’s a state matter. You let the federal government standardize something that minute, you’re going to end up having the Federal government create a whole new bureaucracy of dirtbags running around telling police their tires are dirty and need to be cleaned before they can arrest anyone.

Some years back, someone in the state line area was driving around at night with a red strobe light on top of his car, forcing women to pull over so that he could rape them. He did get caught, but the strobe light color for police vehicles, including state police, was changed.
Many law enforcement department vehicles are equipped with blue lights instead of red. In some areas, ambulances have both red and blue. State police have blue & red in addition to strobe lights on the vehicle grill.
Chicago/Cook County and Lake County cops do not like it when someone in a POV pulls out of a driveway with flashing yellow over-cab lights. If there is no departmental or business sign on the door, e.g., tow truck or highway department, some of these people get ticketed.
Years ago it was red west of the Mississippi and blue east of the Mississippi for Police. Or something like that.circa 1981.

Here in Commiefornia I have seen movie prop cop cars displaying “prop vehicle” when not in use on a set. The regular cop cars get the lights covered up when a mechanic or someone not a cop is driving it. The community patrol cars are usually old cop cars but the cop logo is gone and community patrol is in big letters and no lights left on top of the car.

Frankie: I have seen them at the commissary in Pensacola. Maybe half a dozen or so over the past few years. I’ve never seen those that cover their entire body with only a slit for their eyes. That would creep me out and I’m not even sure the military would allow them on base. I hope not.
I have had a few neighbors from Saudi Arabia here aboard NAS Pensacola, the women covered everything except hands and faces. I’ve seen one or two women completely covered at one of the Walmarts, all you could see was the eyes.
A month or two ago I saw a couple of Middle Eastern females in uniform, with the head scarf (hijab?).
I haven’t seen anyone on base with the face completely covered, as far as I can remember.

Brooklyn’s Bay Ridge Section used to be inhabited by a lot of orthodox Jewish people distinguishable by their dress and hair style. They have been victims of attacks. WTF people of the Muslim faith would want to encroach on their area is my question. The Russian have Brighton Beach, but there are plenty of other high density areas where they could have gone. But no argument, they are entitled to leave in peace without being attacked.

A friend of mine had an apartment back in the 1970’s when the neighborhood was mostly Nordic and Atlantic ave in Brooklyn towards the East River was primarily the Arab community and when the towers went down, word was that they were dancing on Atlantic ave. I heard about it once but it was never mentioned in the news at the time so I don’t know if it actually happened or not. We used to have to go over there once in awhile to one of those labs that do blood work and DOT drug testing. Albas bakery in Bensonhurst on 18th Ave. moved to Staten Island a number of years ago when the Asians started to move in and the Italians moved away. A friend of mine still has a house in Dyker Heights Brooklyn which is still populated by people that have been there

You have to give New York City credit: If there’s a way to get tangled up in bizarre shit, the city usually manages to find it.
My own view is that the current Muslim Patrol thing is a matter of monkey-see monkey-do. The NYC Asian community now has its own police-sanctioned community patrol, and the Jewish Shomrim one has been around for awhile. If memory serves, the Shomrim group was created because a bunch of Hasidics got tired of getting beat up by teens who thought the Hasidics were some weird-looking mofos.
There’s also an unanswered question in the current stories about this. Although the cops have said the Muslims are cruising around without police sanction, what’s unclear is if the Muslims asked to be legit, and were turned down, or if they never bothered to ask at all.
Slightly off-topic: Does anybody else find the design of the NYPD seal a bit strange? It sort of looks like a scale, and an Indian with a topknot, and a cowboy with a whip. What’s up with that? Given that it’s New York City, I’d more likely to expect a Wall Street guy wearing a green eye-shade and using an adding machine…

I think that all traffic lights should be standardized. I hate it when I’m driving out of state and green means stop, red slow, and yellow go. My plan is to improve traffic safety by having red mean stop, yellow slow, and green go.
Also, I would like to see certain shapes represent traffic control signs. I’m thinking that maybe we can have–oh, I don’t know–rectangles for speed limits, octagons for stop signs, and triangles for yield signs.
Can we number the exits on the interstate? That would help a lot.
That’s a reasonable suggestion. I’ll put that on the list of recommendations. So far, we have:
Only emergency vehicles will have blue or red lights.
Public works and certain other designated vehicles will have yellow lights:
Standardized shapes for road signs;
Electronic traffic control devices at intersections to be red (stop), yellow (slow), and green (proceed); and
Numbered exits on interstates.
What about standardizing the lines on the roads?
I’m leaning towards double yellow being a no-passing zone, dashed being a passing zone and dashed beside solid being a passing zone for the side the dashed lines are on.
They need to refine the symbol for bike lane in MA. I thought it was a depiction of someone wearing glasses and assumed it meant Blind person crossing.
