Resolutions
It is not yet Christmas and here I am thinking of New Year’s resolutions. The subject was not on my mind until I saw MTV’s New Year’s resolutions for white men. To quote Dave Barry, “I swear, I ain’t making this up.” Go check it for yourself.
When you choose one group or another as the reason for your perceived failures without so much as a peek into the mirror might it be that those reasons reside within. Is it not within the realm of possibility that our failures are a product of our works? History shows for any society to lay their problems on the doorstep of a particular group of people is a precariously tread path.
“To find the cause of our ills in something outside ourselves, something specific that can be spotted and eliminated, is a diagnosis that cannot fail to appeal. To say that the cause of our troubles is not in us but in the Jews, and pass immediately to the extermination of the Jews, is a prescription likely to find wide acceptance.” – Eric Hoffer, The Passionate State of Mind
I do not imagine that an attempt at exterminating white men would be very successful, but if you listen to some of these rabid haters it is clear that if some thought they had the power they would certainly give it a try. Christians are another story. It seems we offend a lot of people these days also. For many years, there has been a concerted effort to strike us and what we believe from the American psyche and to the extent that business owners are sued and fined because they do not support homosexual marriage. Exterminating Christians? It is already being allowed across the Middle East and North Africa. Here? If we are the perceived root of problems?
I have spent a lot of time trying to figure out how we turned into such a whiny, self-absorbed society. A real wuss society. I believe we have turned many of our children into neurotic messes. I read the news and look at the cover of a National Geographic magazine picturing a 9 year-old transgender. I am at a loss as to how that happens. Most certainly the child was coached up by a parent. We turn out masses of partially educated “college” graduates who are convinced that the world’s problems rest on the shoulders of white men. Did they arrive at their institution of higher education with this preconceived notion? Or, was it pumped into their partially filled brains at one of our universities few of which require any study of Western Civilization? Students arrive at these institutions largely illiterate of US history and civics and leave there not much better off. They are offended by everything, they need safe spaces, free speech zones and when the reality that much of America does not think as they do hits them they require crying rooms and counseling. Men who want to be men cannot. Masculinity is frowned upon. Women who want to be women cannot. Feminism outweighs femininity. Anyone who endorses the natural order things is scorned as a bigot – an ist or a phobic.
How about we arrive at some American resolutions? Let us be a country once again. A people united with a commonality, an allegiance to the ideals that made us great in the first place. Not divided groups vying for superiority. And make no mistake that is where we stand. That is where we allowed career politicians and activists to bring us. Right on the brink of self-destruction. Right to the point where some half-educated, half raised, brainwashed, participation trophy recipients feel the need to come up with resolutions for my life. Go to hell. Geeze, does that make me an angry white man?

Well they can all go suck a bag of ducks. Dran, I misspeleld again!
Good thoughts.
My first response to the “Resolutions for White Men” was an idea for a Resolution for People: cease to think in terms of skin tone.
But – that is a Christian concept, so…
I think strategypage has a piece about how the attack on the Berlin Christmas market is an ideological attack: the islamists are attacking anything Christian. We are in a war – between what is holy and what is satanic. And if you have any problems identifying who is on which side, another New Testament quote: “by their fruits you shall know them.”

America: Fukk Yeah!!
All those whiny, stank ass hippies and special snowflakes need to leave my America.
Go live in Douchebagistan or other 3rd world pit if I give you the vapors.
He wasn’t my guy to begin with, but he is now my President and C-in-C, so let’s make ‘Merica great again. Hooooah!!
Does that make you an angry white man? No. The children in adult bodies whose parents have seen to it, personally, that their kids never grow up, are worse off than you are. The reality of a harsh, cruel, demanding world with expectations they are unprepared to meet is hitting them like a brick wall. It’s almost a cartoon image, a Tom & Jerry romp where Tom the cat slams into the wall when Jerry the mouse makes a quick right-angle turn and gets away, and old Tom not only impacts, but hangs there for just a few seconds, and then slides down the wall in a heap. Here’s reality: on the news a few days ago, someone was interviewing a young woman who has found work at one of the regional airports pushing people around in wheelchairs if they have difficulty walking the enormous distance from one gate to another. She has college loans to pay and her job barely makes ends meet. She has a degree in an unnamed field and the best job – maybe the only job – she could find is pushing people in wheelchairs around the airport. None of that generation of children is prepared for the harsh reality of the real world, especially not the way you and I were. WE knew what to expect way ahead of getting there. If you want to eat and have a roof over your heads, you have to work. There is no free ride. We knew this when we were 10 years old and earned an allowance mowing the lawn or setting the table and doing dishes and vacuuming, or even cooking dinner at age 11. No, it does not make you an angry white man. It makes you a realist and leaves them flat-footed because they are unprepared for the real world, JD. It will never be the way THEY want it to be. Idealism is nice, but doesn’t pay the bills or put food on the table. When the bills come due, idealism is hiding under the bed, whimpering. Now go to midnight mass… Read more »
One of the things Trump wants to do is get rid of the Department of Education.
Great move, cut off the funding for all these colleges that do nothing but bad mouth the nation that pays for them to exist.
Universities has not been educating students for decades. They have been indoctrinating them to be socialist shitbags.
We’d be better off bulldozing these places to the ground and replacing them with trade schools.
Oh, they aren’t all like that, Old Dog. There is a 2-year college near me that provides 4-year degree students with a program that lets them get required subjects such as language requirements, basic science, math, etc., plus 1st year level electives, out of the way at a modest cost, and has arrangements with a growing number of 4-year colleges and universities, e.g., U of I/Circle Campus and Depaul University, to transfer those credits to a 4-year program to finish a B.A. or B.S. They have a program that prepares accounting students to take the CPA exam.
This is practical education, not bunny fluff stuff, and they also offer what is now called trades classes, e.g., plumbing and mechanics, so that students can transfer sooner to trade schools.
Not all schools waste the time and tuition of their students. My sister teaches pre-med classes at a 4-year university, which also has a 4-year RN program and STEM classes. There is a commercial art school down in the city that prepares students for a full-time career in graphic arts, CGI imaging, animation, and prepress production.
It’s the more idiotic schools like that one in New England that offer nothing practical in exchange for expensive tuition and fees that are ripping off their students. They should lose their accreditation. They are nothing but diploma mills.
Unfortunately, EVERY school is required to offer a certain amount of brain-washing bunny fluff (i.e. gender studies, minority studies, etc.) in order to qualify for accreditation and federal funding (even to allow students to use financial aid such as VA, Pell Grants, etc.). And don’t get me started on the public K-12 schools. . .
Triggered!!
“Anyone who endorses the natural order things is scorned as a bigot – an ist or a phobic.”
Yes indeed. Universities these days take in young adults and turn them into toddler-minded self-entitled crybabies.
AMEN! I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! I am trying to teach my grandson all of the things that my dear father and mother taught me? The world is a shit hole these crybabies have turned it into, they have no grip on reality? I can only try and put forward the life lessons my father taught me. I pitty the people that didn’t have such a great role model that I had in my father! Thank God we don’t have our first female president!!! May God bless all of you and your families!
To Everyone on TAH……MERRY CHRISTMAS and Happy New Year, may this be your greatest year ever and if you don’t know him, meet Jesus, its simple, just ask him to forgive your sins and come in your heart! So simple even a democrat could do it LOL….and if you do, I will meet you either HERE, THERE, OR IN THE AIR!!
Merry and blessed Christmas to you as well, desert!
I resolve for 2017 to ignore MTV (which won’t be difficult as I have done so for the last 30 years or so).
Me? No more Oprah. No more chick flicks. No more Sex in the City reruns. I’m also giving up Barry White mood music and canceling my subscription to Cosmopolitan.
“I’m also giving up Barry White mood music…”
Whoa, whoa, whoa! Hey man, don’t go too far overboard! Baby, bath water and all that.
With you on all of it except the mood music thing. Some good old fashioned jazz and a sultry voice mixed in upon occasion do wonders to elevate an otherwise bad day.
But, hey, you want no Barry White? Fine. Leaves more for me. Thanks!
No more #Yanni too !!!
MTV News is part of New York City-based MTV, which in turn is owned by NYC-based Viacom. Viacom is in turn controlled by National Amusements, which is run by Sumner Redstone who is ultimately responsible for paying MTV employees– and is an old white guy.
Apparently those hard-hitting music journalists at MTV News didn’t get the memo. To quote from the wisdom of MTV’s Beavis and Butthead:
Heh, heh. You said “hard.” Heh.
I’m just an old, heterosexual, white male. I guess that’s what maDE my professors so uncomfortable with me. Not to mention lib’s and feminists staying away from me. Guess I was just lucky. At least my wife seems to like me, well, most of the time, anyway. Off to KP!
Word.
My children (who are decidedly NOT like those you describe) are appalled at and embarrassed by their peers and nearly everything their generation represents.
This entire situation brings to mind a conversation my husband and I had today about a possible ‘dream political ticket’ for president and veep. (As in, my husband has double dog dared me to post this, and who am I to let my infant son down by refusing a double dog dare?)
Thus, the dream: R. Lee Ermey for prez, Mike Rowe for veep. Under those two, one way or another, actual WORK will get done.
And besides. Because our country deserves a veep who’s bitten testicles off.
+10
it’d be worth it just to hear Ermey ask some libtard ” What is you major malfunction numbnuts!”
We have a VP that didn’t get that far down LOL
My resolution as a white man is to beat every whiny snowflake justice warrior chick over the head with my dick this coming year. I’d do it to the males wearing skinny jeans and a soul patch but they would like it too much.
And a man bun…
Those things are sooooooo stupid. You can’t help but look stupid wearing one of those.
My daughter has orders to never date anyone wearing a man bun…
If she does, she’s out of the will !!!
I remember the “Rat Tail” hairdo of the early 80’s where boys would have a mini-ponytail in the back. This was in the Midwest in the early eighties and some off them would feel a pull on it while it got cut off, I wonder how one could do that to a “man-bun”? What’s next, hipster eunuchs wearing beehive hairdos while calling it a “he-hive”?
MRS D is known to say “No honey, you can’t cut the man bun off” just loud enough to cause the offending bun-wearer to turn around in total panic. You should all try it, it’s a hell of a lot of fun! Aw shit, I’m a bully…
^^^THIS^^^^
I would get Mrs. Graybeard to do that – if we had those special snowflakes in our little East Texas town.
(OK, they may be on the college campus some – but I seldom go there.)
I am SO going to talk Mrs. Proud Infidel®™ into doing that next time I see one when we’re in public…
Some days irony just stands naked right in the streets and whistles….
As always, follow the money. Do away with the federally-guaranteed student loan programs which ensures that anyone and everyone can go to college, which, in turn, drives up tuition and professors’ salaries. Return higher learning to what it used to be, additional education beyond high school for those with the intellectual heft to benefit themselves and society by attending.
We badly need to get away from this liberal craziness that every kid is entitled to go to college. We don’t insist that every student is entitled to a master’s degree or a PhD so why a bachelor’s? It’s the liberal participation trophy theory applied to college education.
Notice how the term liberal keeps cropping up? They’re the ones who have got us into this mess with their seemingly endless foolishness. We are on the right track, retaking our government from federal right on down through local and restoring some sanity in government programs, especially education.
Every kid goes to college for the indoctrination they couldn’t jam into high school, out of sight of the parents, naturally.
Well, Poe, I am not sure about colleges in your neck of the world, but in Texas and – from what I have read – in most of the flyover states the professors’ salaries are not going up.
My adjunct professor son – very good at what he did – had to quit teaching to get a job to support his growing family. He didn’t even get health insurance for his family from the state university. Full professors get a little more than the adjuncts as well as family healthcare and retirement packages.
Most of the big salaries in universities go to the administration staff. Those in charge of “diversity” and such crap. That is where the federally-guaranteed student loan scam money goes. Not to those who actually teach the students.
“Most of the big salaries in universities go to the administration staff.”
Kinda like in publik skoolz where the big salaries go to mostly incompetent goldbrick administrators? MANY of the Presidents of major Public Universities get SEVEN figure salaries these days as well.

I’ve learned living well, is the best revenge.
Yes, it is. I can’t write a check in 6 figures, but I live well, debt free, and guilt free. Suck on that, liberals!
I am beyond disgusted with my generation and their progeny.
My resolution is to use the word “cocksucker” more.
I’m glad you wrote “the word.” I see what you sidestepped there and that could have been trouble.
