Tuesday morning feel good stories
Tim sends us a link to a story about a self-solving problem in Phoenix, Arizona where two armed thieves tried to rob a man, but in the excitement, one of the criminals shot himself and ended up in the hospital and in police custody.
A homeowner in Wilson, North Carolina, heard a burglar trying to bust through his door. he called the police but before they could arrive, the homeowner was forced to fire his gun though the door to stop the criminal. The thief was DRT (dead right there) when the police arrived.
A homeowner retreated to her bedroom closet when two criminals forced their way into her Tulsa, Oklahoma home. When she heard them outside the bedroom, she fired three rounds – one round hit one of thieves center mass and the crook was taken to the hospital in serious condition by his partner who didn’t stick around after he dropped off his pal. The police are waiting for the wounded crook to get out of surgery.
Kaycee Devante White in Kershaw County, South Carolina tried to rob a homeowner with his shotgun. However the homeowner had his own gun and forced Kaycee to leave. They saw White hiding in some bushes outside and sent some lead in his direction which dislodged him from his hiding place. The police visited him at home later and took him and his shotgun into custody.
Billings, Montana Police responded to a “shots fired” call to find a wounded man and a woman. The man was wounded and taken to the hospital, the woman was cuffed. As the investigation continued, it was discovered that they had both been the victims of an attempted carjacking. The actual suspect was found a short distance away, also wounded by gun fire.

LMAO! “…one of the criminals shot himself…”, Dummy should have learned some weapon control before he set out on his life of crime.
And several additional stories of legally armed home owners defending themselves because, well, you know, “When seconds count, the police are only minutes away”.
*Insert range time joke here*
Training should be required for firearms carry. Shouldn’t it? Well??
Oh, yeah. Maybe it’s just that criminal element that disregards the safe handling thing. Kinda like they disregard the legitimate ownership thing. Just because someone else paid for stuff should not impede their ability to acquire said stuff. Use of deadly force to acquire other people’s stuff is option.
How do we encourage more criminals to shoot themselves instead of innocent folks?
A fivefer Tuesday? Oh, what a great day. Ever notice most of these stories are from states where honest citizens are allowed to own weapons? Similar stories of criminals breaking into homes in states where firearm ownership is restricted can be read in the obit section of the newspaper, and it’s often the homeowner whose name is listed.
Hmmmm……shooting through a closed dor ……just like the hunter who shot blindly into some bushes because he heard a noise that sounded just like an 8 point buck but turned out to be Elmer F. taking a dump.
Wrong answer, ceefour. Nothing blind about those shootings. The homeowners KNEW what/who was behind Door Number One. That was why they were hiding in the first place.
What I find remarkable was that there was still so much damage done to the perps even though the rounds had expended some of their energy passing through the door first.
A wooden door has very little water content. If the bullet is made of lead it will have almost all of its energy. It may have also been a wooden door with slats. Thus allowing her to see and aim. But that is just a guess.
……. reminds me of the buds deer hunting. One decided to prank the rookie on his first hunt by telling scary bear stories…. then hiding in the bushes. As the rookie came past, the prankster started growling and shaking the bushes. Results: gunshot wound to the ankle.
A crook shoots himself? Another one hides in the bushes? What a bunch of amateurs!
And you would have done it better. . . . how? (wink)
They were all “pillars of the community” that were “good, God-fearing people that went to church on Sunday”…
“They were all “pillars of the community” that were “good, God-fearing people that went to church on Sunday”…
… in their 1980s Chevy sedan which was driven only on Sunday and on those days it was driven to the local soup kitchen where the pillars of the community volunteered.
This isn’t really a crime story, but it seems that a mixed-faith couple (she’s Jewish, he’s Christian) who wanted a non-denominational wedding at a bed & breakfast in Galena, IL, were refused by the owner because the ceremony, according to him has to mention God, and he tried to blame it on the city’s rules, and the city of Galena said ‘We have no such rule’. And now he’s getting sued for discrimination.

So they are trying to find a new venue to have their wedding as planned.
I hope they find the right place and wish THEM the best. The B&B owner is a dork in my personal opinion.
