Woman shoots boyfriend in self-defense at east Wichita hotel
WICHITA, Kan. (KAKE) – One person was critically injured following a shooting in northeast Wichita on Friday night.
The Wichita Police Department says the shooting happened just after 9:00 p.m. Friday in the 3700 block of N. Rock Road.
WPD says after an initial investigation that around 6:30 p.m., a 32-year-old man threatened his 33-year-old girlfriend with a knife, causing minor injuries, but police were not called.
A few hours later, the man returned to the hotel and threatened hotel staff as well as his girlfriend. The woman then shot the man in self-defense and he was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
WPD says the woman was fully cooperative and was released. The man will be arrested once he’s discharged from the hospital.

Suspected Vehicle Burglar Shot by Resident in Early Morning Incident on University Drive
SHREVEPORT, LA – On Saturday, April 5, 2025 at approximately 3:32 a.m., officers with the Shreveport Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 7600 block of University Drive.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds to the abdomen and right arm. The victim was transported to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport with life-threatening injuries.
According to initial reports, a resident was outside smoking a cigarette when he observed several individuals allegedly breaking into vehicles a few houses down.
The resident called 911 to report the activity. While still on the phone with dispatchers, one of the individuals reportedly approached the homeowner. After issuing multiple verbal commands for the individual to stop, the resident fired his weapon, striking the suspect twice.
No arrests have been made at this time.

It is also not a good idea to approach a cigarette smoking dood at 0330 hrs. Just the fact the he’s smoking tells you that he’s living on the edge and if you interrupt his smoke break he’s gonna be pissed. I’m sure that the perp was suffering a lot from being gut shot.

Hopefully the Wichita Woman shot her ex-S.O. (or should that be “S.O.B.”?) in a place where he’ll never be able to pollute the gene pool ever again.
