GBI Investigating After Woman Fatally Shot, Deputy Injured in Dooly County Officer-Involved Shooting

By Rohit Mehta
An officer-involved shooting in Dooly County, Georgia led to the death of one woman and the injury of a deputy, an incident that’s now under investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI). Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s report states that the episode unfolded early morning yesterday, when a speeding Cadillac sedan prompted a car chase after failing to stop for the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

The chase, which began over the Cadillac’s excessive speed of over 100 mph on Interstate 75, persisted for several miles and eventually came to a halt in Dooly County where deputies executed a PIT maneuver to immobilize the vehicle, after the car continued, fleeing from the attempts of law enforcement to reign in the speeding driver finally near Exit 109, a potentially volatile situation was in progress. When deputies approached the vehicle and attempted to interact, the woman behind the wheel began firing at them, striking one deputy.

In the ensuing exchange of gunfire, deputies shot the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene while no information regarding her identity has been released pending notification of next of kin. The injured deputy was transported to a local hospital; fortunately, the injury sustained is not considered life-threatening.

Hope the injured deputy makes a rapid and complete recovery. Slim pickings but our Gun Bunny came through once again.

Highly unusual, a woman perp and shooter.
Don’t see that very often.
Wherever she was in a rush to get to, she’s at her final destination now.

Hack Stone

Are you a biologist? Can you define woman perp? 🥴

I think I got a “feel” for that, to tell a woman from a woman.

Like they say, “Drive like hell and you’ll get there”.

You know when women don’t like to be seen until their hair and makeup is done. They shoot at you. Just let them be till they have time to fix up themselves and be presentable.

And there is this!

The folks I work with heard about it, but nothing official yet.

Curiouser and curiouser… I’m sure the commie will show up to explain how this PROVES that President Trump, or Tulsi Gabbard, or.SOMEONE is a Russian asset… or some similar leftist bullshit..

Slim pickens, indeed. News feeds are full of storms, floods, fires, Bad Orange Man, and the typical crimes in the usual places. This one was also considered a strong contender for the SPoTW Thread. Why, you ask? A very good question! Anyone that has ever traveled that leg of Interstate 75 knows that it is one of the most heavily patrolled sections in the country. Georgia passed a law a few years back allowing all of the tiny towns to annex any land continuous to a state or federal highway, giving them enforcement of traffic laws. So you have State Patrol, County Mounties, AND a local popo stacked up like a fire sack/kill zone just slobbering over a “Super Speeder” (anything 15mph over the posted limited) and the various drug runners/nefarious individuals passing thru. Co-ordination of the dispatchers means that when a call goes out, multiple jurisdictions will respond and join the chase, hoping to have a share of any “confiscated” goodies. Can’t use the confiscated $s to pay salaries, but they can use it to buy equipment (cars, radar, radios, K-9s, and what-not) freeing up local $s for the salaries. And trust me…they WILL call in the whole clan on your ass. Another pro tip…if one decides to shoot at the LEOs with a little p*ssy assed, fugly, piece they WILL shoot back. Ms Thang did the epitome of the FA…and she FO.

Sounds like a good stretch on Interstate to route around and take lesser roads. May take longer, with a lot less hassle.

One would think that would be the case, Tox, but that can bite you on the azz, too. The Old Dixie (can we still say that?) Hwy (US 41) routes thru the middle of those tiny towns and many of them were your typical speed traps. One would be rolling along at the posted 55 mph limit, round a curve and then BOOM…you’re in a 35mph zone, inside the city limit and there sat the local popo a’waiting. The State stepped in awhile back and forced the towns to post graduated step down speed signs giving the travelers space to slow down. Then too, you have a lot of farm equipment using the secondary roads going from field to field, plus license “safety” checks doing “training” exercises that can slow you down and/or ruin your day if you are doing nefarious type activities. Best bet is to set the cruise control on about 77-79 mph and leave it there when you’re on the Big Road. There’s plenty of “bear bait” that will pass you doing 85+, zig zagging the whole time. That’s the ones the GSP, in particular, are looking for. Most of them have their radar guns set at 86 meaning it won’t register on any vehicle doing less than that. Oddly enough, you will be pulled over for doing 10 mph BELOW the posted limit than you will be for doing 10 mph above it. They figure anybody going that slow is trying (without success) to not draw attention to themselves. I did a lot of business, back yonder, with the comm rats that sold/maintained LEO gear. Also sold a helluva lot of radar detectors, CB radios, and police scanners to dumbasses trying to get an edge. Full disclosure…none of that stuff helped very much.
