The renowned beauty of Chile’s Patagonia region is exemplified in this photo of French Valley in Torres del Paine National Park, submitted by Your Shot member Roger Smith. The valley is ringed by the soaring granite peaks of the 19-mile Cordillera del Paine and is located at the center point of the park’s popular W circuit hike.

First !!!!
1st…but we all get 1st place trophies here. :0)
Nope this is definitely not the venue for participation trophies…
The only participation trophies I ever displayed were my gay pride ribbon… sorry, Army Service Ribbon and my NDSM.
Man I can’t believe it. I’m almost in the same league as Skippy, Claw, et al.
🙂
Smile/Smile/Smile. You need to check the WOT First entries before saying Skippy is in the same league as me.
Skippy hasn’t registered a “First” since three months ago on the February 19, 2016 WOT.
I’m still working on getting my creds back up to snuff after the smack down I got two weeks ago.
I’ll be back fairly soon. But as for now all I can do is whimper, stay in my time-out corner and say “I coulda been a contender.”
Smile/Smile/Smile.
K. Claw I’m on a cold streak has it really been three months ?…
Yep, scrolled back through each one (cause I’m bored, it’s raining here and only about 45 degrees right now) and that was the findings.
BTW, how’s that newest household addition of yours getting along?
TSO featured his little poopmaker on here, so maybe it’s time for an update on yours.
Smile.

Here’s PC kick in the nuts:

For the past nine years the retired lieutenant general has taught leadership and ethics at Hampden-Sydney College, a highly regarded, all-male school based in Virginia. By many accounts – he is beloved and deeply respected by students.
But Gen. Boykin will not be returning to the classroom this fall. That’s because he tells me he’s been fired.
“The man who was one of the original members of Delta Force and once commanded all of the U.S. Army’s Green Berets – the man who served his nation with honor and distinction for more than 36 years – was ousted because of political correctness.”
The inmates are in charge of the asylum.
The inmates are no longer in charge.

Good news, this. Saw the canning article yesterday, so this comes as a welcomed surprise. Glad to see someone found their set. I guess the LGBT crowd will retreat to their safe space for a group hug and plan their revenge, which you know will be coming. Maybe they will attend a micro-aggression seminar over the weekend or visit an aromatherapy boutique. You know, so they can feel good about themselves and their convictions while hammering the hell out of anyone who has a differing opinion.
Wow, the comments on that article are pretty toxic for such a large website. It’s weird how some folks choose to spend their limited time on earth.
my in laws live in Drakes Branch right down the road from there dove by it about ten times…
Good news! I’m sure there was some behind the curtain arm twisting from alumni with deep pockets going on, and if I were Gen. Boykin I’d seriously consider telling the college to take a flying fuck at a rolling donut.
I didn’t read the first article, but did read the second. My response to GEN Boykin is that the man who follows me into a bathroom had better hold the door for me, be desperate to go because the men’s room is out of order, and/or be someone of whom I have intimate acquaintance.
What the bloody hell ever happened to good manners in this country?
Sometimes, I feel like my head’s going to explode.
I’m with you. I honestly, freaking, can not figure out what the heck is going on in this country. This crap wasn’t conceivable 50 years ago.
Well, chief, I’m keeping a close watch on which way the wind blows the signal flags and they are beginning to stream to the right, even in the EU/UK.
Something is definitely in the wind. The Venezuelan military is coming under fire from the populace.

Well, within the top ten for once.
Otherwise, got nothin’ else.
Bernath works balls and rumor has it that *SLUURRP!*-QuEeFeRs41 blows winos for fifty cents and gives change.
Honorary first. I would have posted sooner, but I was waiting in the conference room for Elaine Ricci to give me my six month performance review. She never showed. I hope that nothing bad has happened to her.
Especially since you get no payraise until she does.
You might have to join the long and growing list of people who have taken the company to court for non payment of services.
I am right behind Confluence Corporation when it comes to getting paid. Pretty pathetic that such a succesful company (based on their website) can’t scratch up $8070.20.
37th
Not first. Not even close. That’s the penalty for taking a shower prior to my VA appointment.
Damn changing poopy diaper cost me dearly oh well
beautiful weekend in store here in the mountains of southern New Mexico so much better then the oven

It is addictive ???????
James Walls and Jerry Foster are still, as of today, cocksuckers.
Annnnd, James Fritch of Plainfield, Connecticut is on set today, filming his new adult film, Taking It All In, Fritch Style. He is also a cocksucker.
Patagonia is a lovely place, one of the few remaining untrashed places on the planet. There are only a few places I do want to go to and that is one of them.

27th again… no big whup.
Here’s my weekly shout out to Dickless Danni-boi Bernastypants and his booty boi CoCkSlUrRPeTh41. How you two fucknuggets doin?
Hey Dickless Danni-boi! Still watching the mailbox for the letter from the CA State Bar??? Don’t worry, it’s coming to you REAL SOON. What you need to be worrying about is that someone isn’t looking at your “business practices” and wanting to charge you with a few felonious crimes (fraud being one of them) and taking your wife down with you in the process. Also, I’m sure there are a few federal agencies that are looking into you too..
Hey, QuEeFeRs! What’s happening with you, butt pirate??? Still downing that Thunderbird and lusting after the poodle three doors down? Or dreaming about another rendezvous down in the local poundyouintheass jail with Bubba, Thor, Julio and Mr. “Tiny” after another weekend of performances at the local DZ as “PissPants – the inebriated, purple suited, old hobo clown”? Just remember to keep Danni-boi up to speed on what to expect when he’s the “wife” in jail, OK?
I’m OUT!
Well, to get an idea of the worthiness of the Houston Chronicle (which has never met a leftist candidate they didn’t like): they featured a debate in the lifestyle section yesterday between their two resident music critics who, after pages of discussion, determined that the top American band of the entire rock and roll era was a tie – between Journey and the Monkees.
Dismissed the Beach Boys, Credence in a sentence or two, same with the Dead, never mentioned Aerosmith…you get the idea.
The Monkees, seriously?
Totally ignored Josie and the Pussycats.
I still remember where I was when I heard that The Banana Splits perished in a plane crash. Word on the street is that Daniel Bernath was at the controls.
Never mentioned the Beatles, the Stones, or Clapton, either? Led Zeppelin? Pink Floyd? Queen? Eagles? Chicago? Styx? Doobie Brothers? The Who? Emerson, Lake and Palmer? Doors? Byrds? Lovin’ Spoonful? Big Brother and the Holding Company?
Did they ever listen to ANY real rock music?
I went to see the Beatles, the Kinks and the Yardbirds in concert. I had a good time, every time.
Those people are SO limited. They were obviously deprived of a real experience worth remembering.
EX, I think it was just the American bands. Lots of great US bands, but this where the Brits have a significant edge IMO. The top 10, maybe top 15 would probably be all British. Solo artists on the other hand is where US hands down gets the advantage IMO.
Only American??? That’s musickist!
And anyway, anyone who thinks the MOnkees were a great band is a dink.
They were pretty entertaining, though. David Jones was a great little stage actor as a kid. Saw him, and got his autograph, when he played the Artful Dodger in “Oliver!” long before Monkee time.
Yes, they were entertaining, but I think the only musician in the group was Micky Dolenz, on the drums. I guess I was too MATURE to appreciate them. 😉
Check out Michael Nesmith… Different Drum made a few a bucks for Linda Rondstadt.
Linda Rondstadt? Oh, be still my pounding heart. I feel the blood actually rushing to my, uhh, brain. The brain above my shoulders. Hands down the (once) most beautiful woman in the music world. And her song, Long, Long Time is a particular favorite of mine. OK, I’m better. For a while there I thought I might need to be sedated.
The Beatles, Kinks and Yardbirds? How did that happen? Ah, you didn’t mean all at the same time! Do you remember what year you saw the Yardbirds and who was in the band?
I got to hear Mstislav Rostropovich a few times–largely compliments of the U.S. Army.
The sound of really good cello in a room with good acoustics and a good player was as memorable as any rock concert, the dynamic range is just on a different scale.
My last ELP concert was at Wolf Trap and it was TFL. Wolf Trap has a good audio system but my ears are about shot-to-hell and somehow the louder they got the farther I tried to move back. It was good show, just outside of the amphitheater/band shell.
Jethro Tull and Deep Purple were before those boys time? I thought The Monkees was a TV show in 60s. Ricky Nelson was better.
Beatles summer of 1966 at the International Amphitheatre in Chicago
The Kinks appeared with Peter & Gordon and Jacki de Shannon in the summer of 1966 in Decatur, IL at Stephen Decatur High School. There was a black singing group, quartet, who appeared with them, too. Don’t remember the name of that group.
The Yardbirds were at Arie Crowne Theater in Chicago in December 1966.
Good times. They all seemed to like it if the audience got into the groove with them.
Sorry, my bad — that was the summer of 1965 for the Kinks. I have slides from that show somewhere.
Did you ever see The Buckinghams? They were THE STUFF, around that time. I ended up in Harrisburg, PA area in that era, entered active duty via New Cumberland Army Depot. There were some really great local bands, the best of which was The Magnificent Men–at least for those of us who were into “soul” music.
I think they were on some live weekly TV rock show several times, so yes, I did see them that way.
Anyone remember Lou Christie? (Two Faces Have I) My first concert, about 65-66. Could have been 67. The Mrs. and I recently named the number of concerts we have attended. It’s in the 40s and we’re sure we’ve forgotten a few. Our first together was Johnny Cash. We’re pretty sure it was at the Cow Palace near San Francisco, either 71 or 72. Just driving by and there it was. Probably cost less than $10. We had to park many blocks away to avoid paying the parking fee because we didn’t have enough money. We had somewhat become accustomed to eating to avoid starving. So we parked probably 1/2 mile away. Then bought food. Worked out well. Great concert BTW. But, hey, it’s Johnny Cash.
The Kinks. That takes me back. First time that I saw them was The Low Budget Tour.
If you want a really great show, catch The Smithereens. They are always on tour, and come through DC every January or early February. And the are fan friendly, the entire band stays until everyone gets a picture and/or autograph.
I spent 25 years in that area and never heard of The Smithereens. Did you ever hear Eva Cassidy? Bill Holland, Tim Eyrman, Jr. Klein, Danny Gatton. Sorry to say that I never had a chance to see The Kinks or Yardbirds. Now Deep Purple is a different story. Same with Zappa and Rory Gallagher.
From a musical standpoint, the 20th century was a wonderful time for cultural experience. FM radio didn’t exist when we were kids! But Cousin Brucie did, along with some huge station from Ft. Wayne, Indiana, depending on the time of day. That and The Louisiana Hayride out of Shreveport.
Well, maybe this will wet your whistle.
Those assclowns – no fucking clue about music.
Must be pinko commies if they didn’t mention the Beach Boys… they wack off to the International while at work
Saw Beach Boys (Capitol Center ?) in/near DC when stationed at Bethesda, between 72-77. Great show that lasted well over two hours.
Also saw John Denver same place during the same period. Opening act was Starland Vocal Band (Afternoon Delight). Just an outstanding concert.
Great music these two groups/guys.
The little twinkies in Houston were probably pissed about hearing that music critic Sasha Frere-Jones got canned this week from the LA Times for turning in a $5,000 strip club tab on his expense account.
Keith Richards will probably outlive them both. So there’s that…
It’s not but about 85 miles from Houston to Beaumont but I guess those young noos-bois probably never heard of Johnny Winter. Maybe they grew up with pop radio music. It’s understandable that Bob Wills was before their time, just like George Jones but, dammit-to-hell, Willie Nelson is a native son. Maybe it depends on what the meaning of rock and roll is. Chuck Berry never had any trouble keeping the beat and neither did Jerry Lee Lewis.
Bless their hearts, at least they didn’t inflict that pitiful Canadian SOB (Neil Young). Steve Miller may have been born in Milwaukee but he his family moved to Texas by the time he was seven years old and he was lucky enough to go school with Boz Scaggs.
If any one album from the era comes quickly to mind it’s The Allman Brothers Band Live At The Fillmore East. Somewhere between Hot’Lanta and Pleasant Valley Sunday, I’d rather be with some good time buddies, drink’n in a cross town bar.
I’ve seen the Eagles several times. They are out of this world in a live performance. They are one of maybe a few groups I would travel quite a distance to see. I really want to see George Strait but he performs live infrequently and rarely in my neck of the woods. Another great country group was the Statler Brothers. When Lou passed away I didn’t think Jimmy would fit it, but he did so … almost seamlessly.
Oh, my, I don’t want to consider life without music. What a blessing.
I was in Carlisle, Pa, Dickinson College, can’t remember what year it happened, probably ’72 or ’73. The Eagles were playing but I had no idea they were even in town. Evidently, someone had called in a bomb threat or something sufficient for the authorities to evacuate the “field house” or whatever the auditorium was called and everyone was put out in the street while the place was secured.
After it was cleared they opened the doors, no tickets required; that worked for me because I wasn’t even thinking about going to a concert, just out carousing!
But, to the point, I remember the bass player singing the high voice, probably alto range. It is ever an amazement to see how integrated some peoples minds and abilities are. It seems to be ordinary for pianists to have entirely different things going on between their left and right hand and not just a few of them can sing at the same time!
The Eagles were every bit as talented as The Beatles. And then there is/was Oscar Peterson, Dick Hyman… The Seldom Scene used to show up at The Birchmere… once in awhile 🙂 Can’t remember if The Cellar Door is still around, probably not.
You don’t have to go far to hear good music.
Did anyone here ever picked up their transittor radio AT NIGHT to catch WSL and their music? ♪♫♬??
Beaker Street on KAAY Little Rock, 1969-7?.
And for me, the best music was Yes, true musical artistry at its finest.
I’ve seen them in concert many times and I must admit you have to have an ear for them but I do have that.
And I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Pink Floyd.
Their Ummagumma album took me on a couple for trips off the farm… As it were…
Timothy Leary with Pink Floyd, The Moody Blues & Yes listening through a great pair of Koss headphones…
Oh yes, the 70’s, these kids today have no idea what they are missing.
Let’s not forget ZZ Top and Pantera both from the DFW Metroplex. Also there is a bunch of excellent Blues and any kind of bands foryour listening or danching. All the big names book the Dallas/Fort Worth on their tours. To me the 60s and 70s were the golden age of Rock and Roll. Joe
This just in: according to the State Bar of California, Daniel A. Bernath is still Not Eligible To Practice Law!
It does not appear that Mr. Bernath’s ineligibility to practice law is voluntary. Anyone who is curious regarding why Mr. Bernath is no longer eligible to practice law is invited to read this.
“In the instant case, the court concludes that the requirements of rule 5.85 have been
satisfied, and therefore, grants the petition and recommends that Respondent be disbarred from the practice of law” – Top of Page 2
“Trial began, as scheduled, on August 25, 2015. Respondent appeared at trial on
August 25-28, 2015, and September 23,2015. On September 24, 2015, Respondent willfully
failed to appear for the sixth day of trial. His non-appearance occurred without consent of the
-2-
court. Finding that all of the requirements of rule 5.81(A) were satisfied, the court issued and
properly served an order entering Respondent’s default that same day. The order notified
Respondent that if he did not timely move to set aside or vacate his default, the court would
recommend his disbarment.” pp2-3
“On December 29, 2015, the State Bar filed the petition for disbarment. In its petition, the
State Bar noted under penalty of perjury that on September 24, 2015, Respondent came early to
the courtroom, collected his effects, and failed to appear for trial that day. The State Bar also
declared that the court waited 45 minutes before entering Respondent’s default.
As required by rule 5.85(A), the State Bar reported in the petition that: (1) Respondent
has filed multiple motions since the entry of his default; (2) Respondent has other disciplinary
matters pending in investigation; (3) Respondent has no prior record of discipline; and (4) the
Client Security Fund has not made any payments resulting from Respondent’s misconduct.
Respondent has not responded to the petition for disbarment. The case was submitted for
decision on January 29, 2016”
*CHOOOO – CHOOOO*! The train’s a’ comin’!
Breaking news (fox news) shooting w one casualty near white house. One “casualty” (undefined), one under arrest. WHouse “under lockdown. Barry O playing golf at Andrews AFB
Of course this is a mistake, as we all know guns are simply not allowed in Washington DC. I mean, they passed a law and everything!
/sarc
43!!!
And….44!!!!! A two fer!!!!
In the rear, securing the gear lol. I just saw a bunch of YouTube videos about a bunch of hippy clergy trespassing Beale AFB. What the hell is the deal with these retarded assholes?! They drank the Jim Jones special, and think they can waltz onto base, spreading ashes? I needed a safe space after watching those videos, so a nice Montecristo classic to becalm the nerves /sarc
I was without shoes enjoying the grass in front of my house and realized that I’d stepped in a Giduck.
John Giduck – the turd with a face!
????????
I was unaware that Steve McQueen was a Marine, who was demoted to private seven times.
“I was unaware that Steve McQueen was a Marine, who was demoted to private seven times.”
I know McQueen served, supposedly as an Amtracer and stayed in trouble. He was in from 47-50.
I am pretty sure those seven demotions to privater are bum scoop. If he was Promoted by Time in Grade he wouldnt have enough service time to be promoted to PFC that many times.
He probably had 7 disciplinary actions.
Thank you for the explanation, it certainly makes perfect sense.
BAMF Of The Week goes to William Overstreet Jr. who passed away at the tender age of 92. His badassery? Merely chasing a Me 109 fighter in his P-51 “Berlin Express” UNDER the Eiffel Tower. And shooting it down.

Rest in peace, Bill.
What a man. Thank you AW1Ed.
Here’s an update on the man with a gun near the White House. Biden was in the WH at the time.

Posting for my mom, Reb. The tumor was removed without a hitch. She has a amnesia that the doctor explained will go away.
She speaks in her native language, knows us, who and what she does but can’t remember schools she studied at. She doesn’t remember being martial arts trained. Her English both verbal and writing sucks. We’re glad we learned to speak Dutch, so communication isn’t a problem.
Normally mom has a great sense of humor but my in good fun gag backfired. I put up a 3 x 5 poster of her enemy under the TV.
Someone is with her 24 7, I heard her yell armed intruder code and she was searching for the gun she normally sleeps with yelling I’m going to end you MFer and flies off the bed into my arms. She went into convulsions and they medicated her. Poster came down, she woke up and didn’t remember a thing. Doctor was not pleased.
Prayers to BUDDHA that she goes home with memory restored. Laughing as I type this. She already has word memory loss and my daughter said maybe she’ll forgot her cuss words in several languages too.?
Wow. Didn’t know this was happening. Glad the procedure worked and she on the mend. Prayers of all kind.
Prayers for you Mom’s recovery…
According to what I read, I am an anomaly within the VA medical services. At all of my appointments, I am seen promptly, usually earlier than the appointment, with me frequently walking out of the building before my actual appointment time. When I have a problem, my primary care doctor actually listens to me, and is receptive to suggestion by others in the medical field, aka, a Registered Nurse Practitioner friend of mine, and give adequate follow up testing to determine the source of the problem. Currently, I have a very low heart rate, “Bradycardia” by definition. We have been evaluating it for 3 weeks, with 3 appointments this week alone. With 5 tests completed, I expect an evaluation consultation next week. I make a 140 mile round trip to get to the clinic, but since my mileage is compensated, it is well worth the drive. I really have no complaints about my care there.
Thank you for your service. I am pleased that you are getting the treatment you deserve.
I’m also one of those that has had good things from both the Milwaukee VA and the Houston VA medical centers.
The VA health system has saved my life three times and saved my soul once.
The people that take care of us Veterans are some of the most dedicated people I have ever met in my health care career and as a patient.
It is said that Angels are people that God puts in your life when you need them the most, in that I have to wholeheartedly agree.
Having someone tell you that you need a heart transplant and that without it you are given six months to live will no doubt put a bit of starch in your undies…
Six years later with no transplant needed and still eating the same lousy diet I am a testament to the wonderful care that those people provide for most of us….
Thank you for your service my friend.
Hope the cause can be found and resolved. I had physiological bradycardia on AD, also known as athlete’s heart. My resting was in the low 40s. I ran 3-20 miles a day. I’d just take off and return hours later. Now I can barely run to the reefer to make a sammich.
Wishing you well, my friend. Blessings …
I tell the women that you guys aren’t really calling me a phony. I tell them that you guys mean that I’m “bony”, because I have big bones.
Cheese,
Dennis Howard Chevalier
Denny H Chevalier
Cheese on the bone? Like chicken legs, spare ribs or just a weiner with a Chaquita label, wrapped in wax paper with a Sean Penn watermark.
Cartman’s mom told him that story: “you’re not fat, you’re just big boned”. Al Gore can probably narrate that episode.
And just what are you going to do about the surplus, cheesefish mcblobeater?
You have not addressed that at all!
Do you realize that there are 402 official cheeses in France?
In the latest bidness about stuff that will affect us all down the road:
In one poll, Trump has 47% and Clinton has 41%; in another poll by a different group, it’s the exact opposite. One analyst has said there is a possibility of a 3rd party in November. I would lay odds it’ll be Sanders as none of his supporters will vote for Clinton, and vice versa.
And the turmoil of refugees in Europe has begun to swing Europe in general and the UK to the more conservative righthand side of the political fence. And the UK is weighing exiting the Euro Union. It’s very similar to what happened in 1928-1934.
There is the distinct possibility of a repeat of 1968-type violence at both conventions this time.
I swear, it’s like deja vu all over again.
And the times, they are a-changin’.
https://youtu.be/e7qQ6_RV4VQ
Back at’cha, Ex!
I dunno about y’all, but I’m eating popcorn and nachos while enjoying the show as I watch the lefties turn on each other, I wonder if they’ll reenact “their Good Old Days” of the 1968 Democrap Convention? Boxhead and Feinschwein said they no longer feel safe speaking to those of their own party! 😀 😀
Some analysts are forecasting a repeat of the 1968 DNC convention violence for both DNC and GOP conventions this time. Might be the last gasp of the wankers. One can only hope.
GOP Convention? OH, as in Soros-paid Bernie-heads and Hillarrhoids rioting to shut down what they can?
Did someone say popcorn??
Great picture at the top.
Anyway, my dog ate some sort of old ass, decayed bone and has a serious case of the Phil Monkress.
And it is bad.
Rough.
Even the False Commander and CEO of All-Points Logistics “Phony” Phil Monkress would be envious. That is, if he could get the balls out of his mouth and finger out of his ass.
A typical “Phildo” Saturday morning….
Moving on…
On a serious note, have a beer on Armed Forces Day for our boys and girls that stepped up to the plate.
I started night shift again. I’m still getting used to the shift between sleeping at night and sleeping during the day. At the end of this month my daughter and the grandkids are moving in for a couple months so I already have the motor home set up so that I can sleep during the day between shifts without little ones “checking on papa”. During my days off I have a lot of land to clear and my chainsaw is getting a lot of work, but I will have plenty of wood for the winter. We are also working on the garden and I am trying to get back into canning. I really wish my grandmother was still around because the last time, besides some experiments, I canned was with her.
Get a copy of ‘Stocking Up’. It tells you everything you need to know, especially about canning foods.
I already have a copy. The thing is trying to do it from reading, which I’m horrible at, and doing. Reading about things I seem to be more hit and miss.
Okay, to simplify it, use the dishwasher to sterilize canning jars and lids, if you have one.
Otherwise, boil them for 5 minutes on the stovetop and keep them in the hot water bath while you’re filling them, and THEN take them out of it AFTER you put the lids and rings on them.
I found that it also works to put them in the fridge for a few minutes, to seal. I’ve resealed jam jars and pasta sauce jar that way.
It’s strange to see a return to simple ingredients in jam and peanut butter. Like someone FINALLY got a clue. Peanuts and salt make peanut butter. Fruit, sugar and pectin make jam and jelly. They taste better, too, the way they did when I was 7YO.
Would refer you here to get all the latest research for canning anything safely: http://nchfp.uga.edu/index.html
For instance, jars which will be processed (either water bath or pressure canner) more than 10 minutes do not require sterilization prior to being filled. Clean, yes, sterile, no.
They also have lots of charts and stuff for easy consultation during the canning season. Or other times.
Well, first week at the new job is done. So far, so good.
I actually have weekends and holidays off. Not sure if I’m going to be able to adjust to that, but it’s so much better than not having a job.
Chicago starts the weekend with a perfect opening salvo. A city worker is shot and killed in a gang-related shooting, 2 blocks from the Bronzeville CPD HQ, just as she exits a Starbucks after work.

And the mare calls the family to ‘console’ them, because that’s all he knows how to do.
You don’t expect them to actually do something to stop the criminals do you? If he did that, who would he get kickbacks from to turn a blind eye?
Rahmbo is SO in over his head. And he still thinks that if legal GUNNZZZ owners turn in their weapons, it will bring crime to a halt.
Sure… and I’m a pear cactus somewhere in Albuquerque.
Next Rahmbo will be calling for everyone to turn in their guns out of fear of drive-by shootings on doughnut shops!
Two Marines boarded a quick shuttle flight out of Dallas, headed for Houston. One sat in the window seat, the other sat in the middle seat.
Just before take-off, an Army soldier got on and took the aisle seat next to the two Marines.
The Soldier kicked off his shoes, wiggled his toes and was settling in when the Marine in the window seat said, “I think I’ll get up and get a coke.”
“No problem,” said the Soldier, “I’ll get it for you.”
While he was gone, the Marine picked up the Soldier’s shoe and spat in it.
When the Soldier returned with the coke, the Marine in the middle seat said, “That looks good, I think I’ll have one too.”
Again, the Soldier obligingly went to fetch it and while he was gone, the Marine picked up the soldier’s other shoe and spit in it.
The Soldier returned, and they all sat back and enjoyed the rest of the short flight to Houston. As the plane was landing, the Soldier slipped his feet into his shoes and knew immediately what had happened.
“How long must this go on?” the Soldier asked.
“This fighting between our services?
This hatred? This animosity?
This spitting in shoes and peeing in cokes?”
AAhh yes, the services even tell time differently for instance,3:00 PM
The Army says 1500 HOURS
in the Navy bells ring (how many times?) after some Seaman polishes them and paints the boat.
In the Air force an O6 askS an E3 “Bill, do you know what time it is?” to which the E3 says “YEAH Tom, Mickey’s big hand is in the 12 and his little hand is on the 3!”
In the USMC it’s ” OOG, UGG, *GRUNT* GRUNT* *GRUNT* FUCK, KILL, OORAH!!”
1500 is 6 bells.
On a less positive note, the following are words of wisdom from Susan Rice, another Obama appointee who is pretty much clueless:
White House National Security Adviser Susan E. Rice said Wednesday there are too many white people in key government posts, creating the danger of “groupthink” that could put U.S. security at risk.
Speaking at Florida International University’s commencement, Ms. Rice said a diversified government workforce is more likely to yield “better outcomes” than a predominantly white one.
Referring to criticism that the U.S. national security workforce is “white, male, and Yale,” Ms. Rice told the graduates, “In the halls of power, in the faces of our national security leaders, America is still not fully reflected.”
Well, that explains a lot. Maybe she can make direct comparison to African countries, many of which are very nearly exclusively people of color and whose governments reflect this exclusivity. After all, they are doing soooo much better than is this country. No, wait, so many are suffering from abject poverty, crime and social upheaval. Never mind.
“Renewable” or “Green Energy? Here’s an account of one Solar Plant burning itself up in kalifornia:
http://gizmodo.com/the-world-s-largest-solar-plant-just-torched-itself-1777767880
“Concentrated solar power plants, in addition to being a menace to themselves, can also pose a hazard to local wildlife. Last year, a plant in Nevada torched over a hundred birds when they flew through the plant’s “flux field.””
Between that and windmills, I bet “Green Energy” has killed far more birds that DDT!
Looks like the army will keep the “man” in combat job
titles.

I read that. My response is that it should never have come up as an issue in the first place. It isn’t related to anything but the job description, and frankly, if I drove a tank or manned (!) artillery, I would expect to be called a tanker or tank crewman, or an artilleryman.
And if anyone takes exception to my use of the term ‘Photographer’s Mate’ and says it has to do with anything other than the job, the ‘mate’ part refers to the Navy’s traditional job description and NOTHING ELSE.
I’m not buying it, PH2. I’m thinking the ‘mate’ is an ulterior reference but you won’t admit it. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
A guy goes to his doctor and says “Doc, I can’t stop singing ‘The Green, Green Grass of Home.”
The doc says “Well, it sounds like you have Tom Jones syndrome.”
“Is it very common?”
“Well, it’s not unusual.”
🙂
Bwhaaaaa. Good one. I’m glad I thought of it. Bwhaaaaa.
Saw my VA PCP on Friday. I asked what type of birth control would be appropriate for my wife and myself, who have been married 45 years. She suggested nudity. What’s that mean? Bwhaaaa

117th!!!
First off, to the recent idiots who idolize Dennis Chevalier here in Texas….perhaps you should make contact with him on how to avoid Highway 80 in East Texas because he fears this Pineywoods NCO.
Speaking of Dennis, where’s that paperwork you promised to show us all over three years ago…you know that paperwork that supposedly was ruined by the flooding in Irving back in March 2013?? I wanted to give you the benefit of doubt back then, but after so long, I think now that you were lying off your Texas State Guard “never was a NCO” ass, like you were found to been doing to them. I have better things to do now…
Finally, to all the other liars and deadbeats out there, including a special shout out to the BDRC (Brotherhood of the Dutch Rudder Crapper), it’s time to change things…and fess up you are nothing more than LSOSs, accept the fact you are despicable and simply go away…
Have a blessed day to all veterans past and present.
Okay folks, I’ll ask for a little help here. I have this thing down but how do ya’ll do all the other emoticons I see? Admitted dummy asking here.
The Weekend Thread is dead. Not one bit of help.
Wish I could help ya out Sparks, but I don’t have a clue as to the dynamics of how to get them to appear.
Hell, I’m barely able to tie my own shoe laces and pour coffee, let alone figure out how a computer works.
You da man Claw! Thanks for the reply brother.
Hey, that’s what buds are for.
Take a John Wayne bar out of petty cash and sit back. I’m sure Chip or Skippy or one of the other emoticon guru’s will wander along shortly and see your question and help out.
Sparks, Do you have a smartphone?
I do.
On your smartphone, you should see a symbol, such as a smiley face. When you click on that, you should be able to scroll right to left or left to right. You also should be able to see other symbols, such as foods, animals, flags, homes, weather symbols, etc. See if that works.?
Thank you.
I use a dry erase marker. After I send the message it wipes off real easy and then I’m ready for the next message…
I’m laughing now.
Sparks,
Jonn’s hippie chick tech ninja might be the only one who can give you a definitive answer. Just from looking at the raw blog code, the mrgreen markup surrounded by colons points to a tiny graphic called mrgreen.gif in a TAH image library. The TAH code apparently follows a Word Press blog convention which means the following basic emojis are probably functional:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/emoji/
or
https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Smilies
Any others might work but may be a matter of trial and error. Skippy’s different emojis point to a separate image library which might be unique to Android or iPhone. You might ask him what he’s using when he’s not too busy changing diapers or chasing blue heelers…
Thank you very much.
