Even More PPACA News

| November 23, 2013

Here ya go – another dose of stupidity jackassery foolishness entertainment news concerning that new law named the Patently Pathetic Abjectly Clueless Absurdity Patient Protection and “Affordable” Care Act, AKA “Obamacare”.

No, folks – I ain’t making this stuff up.  I couldn’t.   No  one would believe it.

As usual, hat-tip to the Drudge Report for pointing me to the links above.

You’re on a roll, Hondo.

From my perspective, those who were gnashing their teeth and wringing their hands in, first, opposing a gov’t shutdown, and, second, demanding that it be stopped after it occurred, were effectively (albeit, likely ignorantly) supporting OBAMACARE. Some folks tried to tell the country. Some folks tried to stop its start-up but they were regarded as Tea Party types to be ridiculed and dismissed. Well, you have your paychecks. They were never at risk, and now the country has OBAMACARE. (I capitalize it now because the Dems are referring to it by its proper name all of a sudden. Gee, I wonder why.) Congrats!

Oh, well, I gave that up. I forgot to change my screen name.

Every day there’s some new sweet bit of deliciousness, it’s like the old cartoons where the comic foil keeps stepping on the rake and having the handle fly up and hit him in the face.

And the people who implemented this are same the ones who VWP keeps assuring us are going to claim the Presidency forever thanks to minority voters.

There is just no upside to Shithead Obamacare. The people who get these premiums are often cut back in hours by small business employers and can’t afford it. We are already hearing of hospitals around the country not taking some of the companies offered. Example in my state is Children’s Hospital in Seattle. A forecast of things to come until we have the same medical care quality as Canada and Great Britain. All I know is 2016 cannot come soon enough for me. I am blessed to have retiree medical through my former employer, which though expensive, is not even close to the monthly premiums this “Affordable” care is showing. My hope is that in 2014 and 2016, by some miracle, the conservatives take back over the house, senate and white house. Then go about dismantling and doing away with the ACA. I know that seems laughable to a lot here but a guy can dream, can’t he?

Shouldn’t that be SOBADMYCARE?

@#6, Sparks, in line with your thoughts on 2014 and 2016, I truly hope that Dingy Harry Reid gets his revision of the filibuster rules shoved up his ass, and the R’s completely repeal OBAMACARE. I don’t have a lot of faith that they will, but, like you, I can dream.

So…you would think (ahem) that this wunderbar POS legislation was going to help those who need it, right? Another great example is my SIL. She has a PE condition. She got into NC’s high risk pool, but as NC decided not to expand the Medicaid program, it has been canceled as of December 31. Now, she should be getting disability because really, any job at this point will make her go off the deep end and recoveries to her normal take 6 months…but they denied her because whoops, she made a whopping 5100 bucks last year!! She does not qualify for medicaid because of that. So…she gets on Healthcare.gov. where she thinks she will finally be helped.
Nope. They have promised her phone calls, mailed apps and she has gotten zip, zero, zilch.
The biggest kicker? At 5100 bucks, she does not make enough money to get a fucking subsidy!!! If she had to pay rent, or anything else, she would be on the street. You have to make 11,500 to even potentially qualify. Amazing. This ship is going down.

You guys are all being haters. This well informed woman explains it all.

“I’ve been told that, to make a project succeed, one has to think positively. If I think my project will fail, it will. I have experienced this.

So, I am more than annoyed by the numerous articles and columns The Post has published on the troubled rollout of the Affordable Care Act. Its costs, how it could fail, how the president’s “legacy” could be ruined because of it. Keep up the negative fomenting and the predictable could just happen.

If this health-care plan fails, a blathering media, harping on the negatives, and Republicans, who are so concerned with being the majority in Congress that they will distort and dismember any Democratic project to further their political purposes, will be to blame. Not the software designers, not President Obama, not the Democrats. The losers will be those who most need insurance but can’t afford it under the present system.

Now, if you will excuse me, I have to feed Skittles to my herd of unicorns.
