Paranoia Strikes Deep
Noted a trend here at TAH.
There IS some fun in being an old guy.
Please ignore the direct Viet Nam references.
I keep seeing this tune as a glimpse of what we face. It really could easily be OUR song. Them Brits did get annoyed when our predecessors said similar to what we are hearing just now.

So in the grand scheme of things, does this mean all of the presidential comparisons to Abraham Lincoln are out the window and this current guy is really a combination of Johnson and NIXON???? Whoooaaaaaa.
For most of us here, I can say with age comes wisdom, and obviously experience.
Though I don’t know folks here personally, I feel I do –
…and I’d proudly stand by each person’s side and take up whatever fight this country is facing, just as I have with people I DO know.
“Please ignore the direct Viet Nam references.”
I have for probably the last 8 or 9 years.
Because whenever I hear this song now, my mind pictures US troops in Iraq, and now Afghanistan.
Eagle Keeper #3: You are quite right. You have hit THE nail. I was aiming at the gun thing. but I won’t argue with you here.
I can still see this tune as a focus point turned around.
For many of us that will only be associated with one era. But, it’s seeming terribly appropriate today.
Need we be reminded that it’s not paranoia when they really are out to get you? There are entirely too many who actually are these days. They are no longer content to be who they are and live their lives – they want to destroy anyone who will not agree to support their choices.
Huey armada at 1:40 is unreal… A nod to Vietnam…today is Richard Nixon’s 100th birthday.
I was just at Sean Linnane’s blog and he had a video of Jimi Hendrix’s “All Along the Watchtower”. There must be a vibe going around.
brings an old phrase to mind—“time to hat up”
Y’all got on this boat for different reasons, but y’all come to the same place. So now I’m asking more of you than I have before. Maybe all. Sure as I know anything, I know this – they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They’ll swing back to the belief that they can make people… better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin’. I aim to misbehave.
Yeah, it’s a movie, but damned if it doesn’t sum up my feelings right about now.
Folks tried to warn these morons that if we abandoned Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, etc, that the war would follow us home. It did. The same commie bastards that enslaved tens of millions and killed as many as any other tyrants has, followed us back.
They took over the colleges, the public schools and the bureaucracies. It was easy for them because we let them. They knew all the rat-bastard snake-eyed moves to sneak in and entrench themselves.
then they began by poisoning the children’s minds, by slowly eroding personal liberties and responsibilities in the name of “public safety” in the name of “the children” passing “reasonable laws” and prohibitions.
Now we have them in the White house and trying to rule by executive fiat. It must NOT be allowed to stand.
As our forefather knew, we either all stand together or we shall most assuredly hang separately. They mean to disarm us and to seize our liberties. They mean to enslave us on a dependency plantation, impale us upon the velvet fangs of the nanny state.
They mean to strip away our citizenship, and make us subjects. I am not a subject.
I will not submit. I will not run. I aim to misbehave.
At almost 63 years of age, I have accomplished all of my life’s goals. If this be treason, then let them make the most of it.
Damned fine reference Sparky!
Sorry man, but when I hear this song, I immediately think of this instead:

Now, why would I ignore the direct Vietnam references?
I’ll repeat that poem by Hiram Mann that does apply:
No man survives when freedom fails
The best men rot in filthy jails
And those who cry “appease, appease”
Are hung by those they tried to please.
Oooo! Anonymous is yours very truly. Sorry.
