Dems blame GOP for stalling economy

| June 23, 2011

The Democrats in Congress are blaming the Republicans for trying to sabotage the economy for political gain according to leftist Talking Point Memo;

In a Capitol press conference Wednesday, the Senate’s top Democrats argued that Republicans don’t want to pass measures like a temporary payroll tax holiday for employers because they’ll improve President Obama’s re-election chances.

“Our Republican colleagues in the House and Senate are driven by putting one man out of work: President Obama,” said Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-IL).

The harshest denunciation came from Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY), the man who crafted the Dems’ new “jobs first” message.

“We are also open to hiring incentives, perhaps in the form of a payroll tax cut for employers that was floated by the administration…. [T]hat might not be our first choice, that shows how willing we are to work with the Republicans to create jobs. It’s pro-business, it’s a tax cut, and many Republicans have been for it in the past. But now all of a sudden they’re coming out against it,” Schumer said.

Project much? We all know that the Democrats did their level best to destroy the US economy during 2007 and 2008. They blocked McCain and Bush attempts to rein in Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae to head off the housing bubble.

Now they say that a payroll tax cut will encourage employers to hire – John Boehner calls it a “gimmick”. I agree – just like releasing a day and a half supply of oil from the strategic oil reserves is a gimmick.

Short-term duct-tape solutions to complex problems. But then if the Democrats actually solved a problem, they wouldn’t be able to waive it like a bloody shirt during the next election.

“Yes, Mr. Pot? Chuck Schumer just wanted to call and say that you’re black.”

It’s not the cuts in spending that is the issue. In exchange for X amount of cuts, the Dems want to spend X-squared in new and old-but-guaranteed-to-buy-votes programs.

The playbook is old, old, old:

– Don’t pass a budget, and blame GOP. Senator Reid will not bring a budget to the floor of the Senate for debate and a vote because he can not control the outcome. Having no budget is favorable to the Democrats because it provides legal topcover for the Executive to rule by regulation.

– Don’t manage the economy out of a recession and blame the GOP. What I find amazing is that all of these academics who enjoyed the POTUS’s favor to put their pet theories into action failed miserably – but academia is gracious in accepting them back. Those a$$clowns need to be hit with the unemployment cluebat.

– Introduce stagflation and blame the GOP. Are you better off than you were 4 years ago? Too bad. Elections have consequences.

– Restrict fuel production to immobilize the middle class and halt budgetary and financial certainty and blame the GOP. Most business plans go out 5-10 years. Who can grow wealth among the middle class if you can’t afford to pay for the exemptions?

– Assist the housing market in sliding ever more quickly downhill and blame the GOP. Have to move? Your new unit is at Fort Hood, but can’t sell your house in Georgia? Well, that’s too bad – oh and if you short sell your house, your security clearance can get revoked. Just policy, mind you.

– Release the Strategic Oil Reserves (that stuff we’ll need to use to withdraw our troops from A-stan) after Summer Vacation Plans have been dropped, and blame the GOP – tighten up the restrictions after August, and blame the GOP

We see this cycle every single election year. The Dems always obstruct their own jobs, blame the GOP, and slackbrained lackwit billionaires buy them into office.

You need a program to tell who the bigger morons are, Durbin, Schumer or the constituents who keep reelecting them.
Of course since none of them combined ever worked a real job,
created a job and only live to exist on the sugar milk flowing from the government tit and could’nt organize a one car funeral given a month to plan it, I would suppose that could explain it.

UpNorth

GruntSgt, a portion of the “bigger morons” who elected Durbin the Turban and Chuck-U Schumer are the same morons who elected President Present to the Senate and sent Bawney Fwank and Anthony-Stepped-on-His-Weiner to the House. It shouldn’t need any further explanation than that.
And you’re correct, they couldn’t organize a one car funeral.

Read the blurb, buy the book, become prepared to laugh at any Dem’s face that sez “It’s the eeevil Booosh’s fault”.
