Man fatally shot in the face in North Philadelphia; possible suspect taken into custody
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A burst of gunfire left a man dead in North Philadelphia.
Investigators told Action News that a large metal pipe-wrench that was found next to the man offered clues to what may have happened.
Police said they believe the man may have been trying to break into a home when he was shot.
The shooting happened in the 2100 block of North 21st Street, around 10:30 pm. on Tuesday.
The victim, said to be in his late 20s to early 30s, was shot in the face.
“We’re getting preliminary information from females at this time that the male who was shot was using this large pipe wrench to try to force entry into the property, where he knew at least one or two of the females that were inside,” said Chief Inspector Scott Small with the Philadelphia Police Department. “So it’s possibly domestic related.”
While police were on scene they said they noticed a man nearby acting suspiciously.
They also said he was carrying a gun.
Officers took that man in as a possible suspect.
Women inside the home were also questioned.

If the Po-Po arrested every swinging Richard in Philly acting suspicious and with a gun the place would be a ghost town. Looking for the down-side here, hmmm. Thanks, Gun Bunny.

A TRO piece of paper won’t protect you…but a new husband with a Coachwhip will. (as the Gun Bunny gazes lovingly at the Rossi Coach in 12 gg purchased for $125 pert near 50 years ago)
Face it…never take a pipe wrench to a gunfight. Tox, check the book! Philthy-Hell-Phia… *sigh*
Those who beat their swords into plowshares may one day find themselves under the yoke of those that kept their swords.
Alright, listen up. The Gun Bunny is in the process of adding to his fleet. Plus some more ex-rays today. Good chance he will NOT be available for the dropping of the TAH Friday Weekend Open Thread. Here’s your chance, haters. Delete your search histories, shine up the connectors on your interface devices, lube up your F5/refresh key, and take a shot. Gotta play to win. There’s a good chance I may need a cig and a nap after visiting Ms Ex-Ray Thang Tech. There is also a good chance that I may need bail money for when I bitch slap the Sales/Credit Managers at the dealership.
Rotsa ruck with the car dealership. Those places are as hinky as any of the fun palaces outside any given military base. Be sure to count all your fingers and toes before AND after you “shake hands” and close the sale with the salesman.
And wassa matter with your current ride? So old that ya gotta kick start it a la Fred Flintstone? Yer feets gettin’ tired?
And yes, I WILL add “pipe wrench” (no word on how large) to the 3″ three ring loose leaf binder of T2NB2AGF.
(le sigh….) Dude, she’s no longer into you. But her CURRENT HUSBAND’S (?!?! how many has she had?!?!) boolit is. Time to move on…..oh….wait…..the only moving on that you’ll be doing is in a hearse to the cemetery. (they never seem to learn, until it’s too late)
Not replacing anything, Tox, more like adding a Staff Car. Just trying to tie up some lose ends and get my affairs in order. My Long Time Business Partner and very highly trusted Lady Friend has had to assume the additional duties of transport to all of the added Chancre Mechanic visits that are a 60 Mile round trip away to the Little Big Town. Done got too feeble to make those runs, alone, and since she will also be Co-Executor of my Estate, I’m gifting her with a new little run about skateboard type ride that is much easier for her to handle than my Big Prime Movers. Bless her heart she ain’t but about 5 foot nothing and seeing over the right front quarter panel of Big Red and The Ark (F-150 and Flex respectively) is a little difficult. The 6 speed on the NISMO and it’s Turbo is a little difficult what with her case of carpel tunnel and knee surgery. Putting it in her name so there wont be any additional taxes or headaches when the time comes. Had made a pretty good deal on the purchase price of a new (2024) Nissan Kicks from Ms Thang Innerweb Sales Manager of the dealership. That young lady was competent and took care of business, informing the Sales and Credit Managers that I would NOT be buying anything but the vehicle, no extended warranty and the little bit of financing would be handled by my Credit Union at 4.5%. (Dealer charges $500 more if you pay cash. DaHell?!?) Dood decides on his own to pitch the add ons in a round about way till I very firmly, yet politely cut him off at the knees. He then pushed the contract forward, saying sign here as I asked about the rate and who was the bank. Some outfit called PNC with a rate of 8.9%. OH HELL’S TO THE NO! Sissy punk almost broke his arm feeding a new contract, with my bank and rate into the printer as I’m walking out the door. Good times! The whole staff… Read more »
