The Brits did it!

Plans to exploit Iraq’s oil reserves were discussed by government ministers and the world’s largest oil companies the year before Britain took a leading role in invading Iraq, government documents show.

The article tries to put everyone in the same boat, but NOW we know who started it.

You should read the book. You’ll probably come to different conclusions but at the very least it undeniably lays to rest the fiction that the Bush administration’s motives were purely altruistic. The key question it raises is, at what point does the line between legitimate national security interests and empire begin to blur? For many in the administration there was never any real distinction.
