Colorado suspect wanted in alleged failed bank robbery after handing teller note that was illegible

A Colorado man allegedly attempted to rob a bank but left with nothing after handing a note to a teller who was unable to decipher what he had written, according to police.

The incident happened shortly before 5 p.m. on Dec. 17 at First National Bank at 750 North Lincoln Ave. in Loveland, Colorado, according to the Loveland Police Department.

Police said the man walked into the bank and handed the teller a note.

The teller, however, had a difficult time reading the note since it was allegedly almost completely illegible, according to CBS Colorado.

The man allegedly grew frustrated as the teller was struggling to read the note, so he quickly left the bank, the outlet noted.

Police are still searching for the suspect.

The man was captured in surveillance images wearing a brown hoodie, green pants, a green baseball cap, sunglasses and brown gloves.

Musical About Raygun with Proceeds Going to Women’s Shelter Called Off After Breakdancer’s Lawyers Sue

This Australian breakdancing chick is an endless trough of entertainment value.

Raygun put the brakes on a would-be musical about her life.

The Australian breakdancer — real name Rachael Gunn — who became a global viral sensation due to her questionable dancing skills recently put a stop to a musical using her name and likeness mere hours before it was set to premiere, the Associated Press reported.

Raygun: The Musical, fronted by comedian Stephanie Broadbridge, was cancelled after Gunn’s attorneys reached out to the comedy club where the show was set to take place, and threatened to take legal action if the performance went ahead as planned, according to the outlet.

Broadbridge shared on social media that Gunn’s attorneys informed her that the poster used for the show had been trademarked and she was not allowed to use it, the AP said.

The comedian added that the attorneys said she would face legal action if she performed Gunn’s viral kangaroo dance because the Paris Olympian owns the rights to it.

Anthony Skinner, the show’s promoter and owner of Darlinghurst’s iD Comedy Club, where the musical was set to be performed, said they intended to give all proceeds to a women’s shelter.

In an update on Instagram regarding the show on Thursday, Dec. 19, Broadbridge shared a new poster removing any likeness to Gunn along with an updated title, Breaking: The Musical. A new tagline was also added that read, “A completely legal parody musical.”

At this summer’s Paris Olympics, Gunn managed to be one of the most talked about participants in the Summer Games despite losing all three of her competitions by a combined score of 54-0.

The backlash and criticism on social media was immediate, prompting Gunn, 37, to call out the behavior.

“It is really sad to hear those criticisms and I am very sorry for the backlash that the community has experienced,” Gunn previously told Australia 10 News. “But I can’t control how people react.”

“It was really sad how much hate that it did evoke,” Gunn said. “And a lot of the responses is also just due to people not being very familiar with breaking and the diversity of approaches in breaking. The energy and vitriol that people had was pretty alarming.”

Gunn announced in November that she was retiring from breakdancing, but backtracked four days later, saying that her statement was taken out of context.

“So I was talking, you know, on 2dayFM about how I’m not going to do certain competitions anymore, which didn’t seem like such a big deal because breaking is not going to be in the Olympics [at the 2028 L.A. Games] anyway,” Gunn said on the show, per the New York Post.

“I’m not retiring. You try and stop me. I’m not ever going to stop dancing. So if you hear that again, you know that it’s not the truth. You can’t retire from an art form. So that’s why I’m never going to stop,” she said.

Anti-police activist begs for help after thieves stole U-Haul truck with ‘everything’ she owns… and the response is brutal

A ‘defund the police’ advocate was left pleading for help to find a stolen moving truck after her U-Haul was nabbed by thieves on the streets of San Francisco.

Darcie Bell, who goes by Jerque Cousteau on X, posted a call for help finding the truck when it was stolen on December 7.

‘Hey guys. If you see a 26 foot U-Haul truck with the Arizona plate AL50003- would you let me know because it had like everything I own on it,’ Bell said.

‘It was stolen near Noe and Market and fun fact: @uhaul doesn’t put GPS on their trucks and thieves apparently know this.’

The rental company replied to the post informing the anti-cop activist that she needed to report the crime to police.

‘If you haven’t already, please be sure to contact the local authorities to report this matter. Please be sure to contact us back to provide the police report to the Equipment Recovery department,’ U-Haul said.

Critics were quick to call out the irony of Bell needing police given her history of posting about needing to defund them.

‘Anti police person asking for the police to help, peak clown world,’ one person said.

‘I never thought the Leopards would eat my face,’ said another.

‘Funniest part of this is a vehement “defund the police” advocate now needs the police. Classic,’ a third person said.

‘Ha ha! Defund the Police Darcie suddenly wants criminals to stop criming when it’s her s**t. So rich,’ said a fourth person.

Users resurfaced her posts calling to defund the police after she complained the cops weren’t helping her.

‘Defunding the police is good actually. We pay them a whole lot to do less,’ Bell posted on October 4.

In May 2022, she said: ‘When we locked down & people had time to get angry & organize, we took to the streets to demand justice. Lots of promises to defund cops that never happened.

‘No matter how bad this pandemic gets, they’ll never give us the ability to do that again. They’ll always prioritize cops.’

Bell slammed the police for not immediately finding the truck and U-Haul required her to file a report.

‘I haven’t found my s**t! The cops didn’t do s**t! U-Haul made me file a f*****g police report!” she told The New York Post.

‘There’s cameras all over this city. They haven’t done s**t… I just want my stuff back!’

As of December 1, there have been 4,985 reported motor vehicle thefts and 19,013 larceny thefts in 2024, according to San Francisco Police data.

LA deputy mayor placed on leave after allegedly making bomb threat against City Hall

Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Brian Williams has been placed on leave following an investigation into a bomb threat he allegedly made against City Hall earlier this year.

The FBI raided his Pasadena home Tuesday in connection with the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time.

The alleged bomb threat was made in September and Williams has been on leave since then.

The Mayor’s Office released the following statement that reads in part, “He was immediately placed on administrative leave. The Mayor takes this matter very seriously. When the threat was reported, LAPD investigated and determined there was no immediate danger. Following additional investigation, LAPD referred this matter to the FBI.”

According to a Los Angeles Police Department statement, the agency’s initial investigation determined Williams was likely the “source of the threat.”

“Due to the department’s working relationship with Mr. Williams, the investigation was referred to the FBI,” LAPD said in a statement. “The FBI remains the investigating agency.”

“No additional information is being released,” the LAPD added.

A neighbor of Williams said making a bomb threat is uncharacteristic of him.

Williams’ attorney released a statement saying, “Mr. Williams strongly maintains his innocence and intends to vigorously fight the allegations. Importantly, he has not been arrested, nor charged, and will continue cooperating with the investigation through attorneys. He has a lengthy career of public service and is presumed innocent of these allegations. We urge the public to allow the investigation process to play out and not to prejudge the facts of this case before they are known.”

Williams joined Bass’ office in March 2023. He was tasked with working closely with critical safety departments such as police, fire, Los Angeles World Airports police, and emergency. Prior to his appointment, Williams served seven years as the executive director of the Los Angeles County Sheriff Civilian Oversight Commission.

Williams also previously served as deputy mayor under Mayor James Hahn, where he was responsible for the management and oversight of the Department of Transportation, Public Works and Information Technology Agency.

3 fired from MD Cracker Barrel after tables denied to students with disabilities

The general manager of Cracker Barrel in Maryland and two other employees were fired after a group of students with disabilities was denied tables, according to the restaurant chain.

The company said it conducted a thorough internal investigation after the students, who have developmental and learning disabilities, were not seated at the restaurant while taking part in a life-skills learning program with teachers.

In a community email, Charles County Public Schools Superintendent Maria Navarro wrote 11 students and seven staff members visited a Cracker Barrel in Waldorf after notifying the restaurant in advance of the group’s size and purpose. They were told they did not need a reservation.

When they arrived, they were declined service, and a restaurant employee requested it be removed from the list of businesses willing to participate in the program, known as community-based instruction, the superintendent said.

“It broke my heart,” said Dustin Reed, whose 7-year-old daughter is nonverbal.

The group was able to place a carryout order.

“Pushed off to the side, and just not even paid attention to,” Reed said. “Only thing they wanted to go in there to do was eat some food and enjoy their time there and learn from it.”

In a statement released by the company, they said executives met with teachers of the school and the parent community to address their worries accordingly.

“These actions include completing an internal investigation with guest and employee interviews, separating three members of the store’s team, including the General Manager, moving forward with specialized training for all employees at this particular store, and bolstering the already robust training we provide to managers nationwide,” the company statement said.

Reed and Johnna Penrod comforted their daughter after she returned from the outing.

“Even though she can’t speak, you still talk to her like she can understand you, because she can,” Reed said.

A Cracker Barrel spokesperson previously issued a statement to News4 that read, in part, “A staffing challenge that day led to the closure of part of our second dining room, creating confusion that impacted the group’s experience. We take this matter seriously and are working directly with the group’s leadership to better understand what happened, extend our apologies, and make things right.”

Since news of this incident became public, a number of Charles County businesses have stepped forward and volunteered to take part in this valuable life-skills program.

‘Gonna be repercussions’ | Houston County SWAT team leader suspended over fight at car dealership

The head of the Houston County [Georgia] Sheriff’s Office SWAT team has been suspended for two days after an argument at an auto dealership.

An internal affair report says it was a dispute over a garage door opener.

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office says Lt. James Spivey’s garage door opener was inside a car that changed hands due to a divorce and Spivey wanted it back.

The report says he believed an employee at Five Star Ford had it.

First, it says he sent a Centerville officer to the man’s house to retrieve it.

When that didn’t work, the report says Spivey went to Five Star himself in uniform on Nov. 19.

The internal affairs report says the Five Star worker didn’t have the opener and he didn’t appreciate Spivey sending an officer to his house to get it or approaching him at work.

They argued and raised their voices.

The report says the man insulted Spivey leading both men to point fingers and slap each other’s hands. That’s when the report says Spivey pushed him.

Spivey said get your finger out of my face. The man then told Spivey he needed to get out of my shop.

The internal affairs report says a Five Star supervisor stepped in and told the men to stop.

Witnesses told investigators that Spivey walked away while saying there’s “gonna be repercussions from this.”

A Five Star manager later told Spivey to stay away unless he was on official business.

The Houston County report says the investigator doesn’t believe Spivey went to Five Star to start a confrontation with the man but that both men lost control.

The investigator wrote that violates department policy, which says “an officer must at all times conduct himself in a manner which does not bring discredit to himself, the department or the county.”

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office declined to comment on Spivey’s suspension.
