Man who fled wreck shot, killed after breaking into Longview home, police say
A Longview man was shot and killed early Sunday after he broke into a home after fleeing the scene of a wreck, Longview police said.
Johan Nino, 23, was shot by a resident in the 3600 block of Clemens Road, Longview police said Monday on Facebook.
Police said Nino is believed to be the driver of a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run crash Sunday near the intersection of George Richey and Fenton roads in northeast Longview.
Police received a report of the two-car collision at 12:38 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found one person trapped in an SUV, though the driver of the other vehicle, believed to be Nino, had fled the scene on foot, witnesses told officers.
About 20 minutes after responding to the wreck, police received a call that a man attempted to enter a home in the 3600 block of Stracener Road, about a half-mile away from the scene of the crash, but ran away when the resident confronted him with a firearm, police said.
Police received a call several minutes later from a resident in the nearby 3600 block of Clemens Road who shot Nino after he entered the home, police said.

In a not so feel good story, sad to see Master Chief Goines passed away peacefully at 88 years young yesterday. He was a helluva of a man.
I’m hearing music and lyrics of Blind Faith’s “Can’t Find My Way Home” for both these (un)worthy gents.
They’ll both just have to adapt to the hotter environment of their new home.
Tox, I have faith that these dumbasses were Blinded By The Light of the armed citizen’s weapons and it is too late for them to rethink their life’s choices. Commiefornia has already gone to hell and is dragging the rest of us with them. Where’s a handbasket when you need one?
Downright fugly. Mr. Stoner…weeps.
On escort duty, y’all save me a piece of the POS Embellisher. I’ll have to play catch up this pm.
Wow, Longview’s damn near next door
