37-year-old identified as man who was shot and killed in Richmond’s Northside

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — A 37-year-old man has been identified as the man who was shot and killed in Richmond’s Northside Thursday evening.

Detectives have identified 37-year-old Dominique Epps of Henrico County as the man who died in the 2200 block of Chamberlayne Avenue on the evening of Thursday, June 5.

Officers were called to Sugar’s Crab Shack just before 9:30 p.m. for a report of a person shot.

When officials arrived, they found a man down and unresponsive inside of the business, with an apparent gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

“Major Crimes detectives are investigating this incident as a possible robbery attempt by Epps, with an exchange of gunfire with an employee,” Richmond Police said.

Pro-tip, if a crab shack is more than a 15-minute drive from the water go to a steak house instead. Also don’t try to rob the place.

Teen armed with rifle shot during violent scene in southwest Houston
Houston police shot a 15-year-old boy during a chaotic gunfire exchange at a southwest apartment complex.

HOUSTON — A 15-year-old boy is in the hospital after being shot by Houston police early Friday morning during a chaotic scene involving multiple armed suspects at a southwest Houston apartment complex.

It happened around 2 a.m. at the Costa Maya Apartments on Cinnamon Lane, just south of Beechnut Street.

According to HPD, officers were responding to a report of a shooting when they arrived to find multiple people running and shooting at each other around the complex. Police said heavy gunfire erupted as officers got to the scene, and shell casings were later found up and down Cinnamon Lane.

One of the individuals who ran from the scene was a 15-year-old boy who was armed with a rifle, according to investigators. Two HPD officers opened fire, hitting the teen in the stomach. He ran off but was later found inside an apartment. He was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital. His condition is currently unknown.

A rifle was recovered near the teen, according to police.

Two other people, a man and a woman, were detained at the scene. However, HPD said surveillance video shows other suspects may have been involved in the gunfire exchange. Their identities and roles remain under investigation.

No officers were injured during the incident.

Looks like the employee got a little crabby when Dominique tried to do a little income redistribution activity.

I’ll go out on a limb here, again, and say that the KHOU story is another case of “the usual suspects….doing the usual thing…” What say ye, Graybeard?

Cool factor not withstanding, I’d much druther have the GAU-8 that the article author talked briefly about. And him saying that an original Gatling Gun was fairly cheap? I guess for some folks north of $75K is cheap.

My kinda Gun Bunny perched upon that piece. Wonder if she can double as a sammich maker?

I’m thinking a fella might replace those 10/22’s with Mini-14’s or Mini-30’s…

Don’t threaten me with a good time, Lil’ Bro.

I read the story on the 10/22 gatling guns but the article never mentioned that the Brits back in the late 1800’s tried using batteries to power the gun but in those days, batteries didn’t last long enough and I imagine that they needed charging out in the field but where would they get the electricity to charge them…If I remember, the story on the Brits Gatling guns came from a book on the history of machine guns even the the gatling wasn’t a machine gun. Don’t know if I still have that book up in the store room cage.

Gotta fire multiple rounds with one pull of the trigger to meet MG standards for anyone except Joe Biden’s ATF. I read that supposedly Dr. Gatling was so opposed to war he wanted to make it so terrible no one would want one, and reduce the number of men needed to fire the same number of bullets as to reduce casualties.

SFC D

They could’ve just plugged them into a current bush..,

MIRanger

You would have a lot of machining to do to the Mini-14 or Mini-30s(?) to be able to use them like the 10/22. What is the real shame is, even though the price is very reasonable, no many people purchased this kit. Saw lots of YOUTUBErs showing how it worked but for me it was hard to find a set of 10/22s at the time. Seriously though about picking it up…then it wasn’t available any more.

WTH!? Teens runnin’ and gunnin’ late at night with live ammo?
What do they think this is?
Paintball? Video gaming?
No “resets” or “do overs” with live ammo.

Tallywhagger

Fifteen year old fool will remember that gut wound everyday for the rest of his life.

I’d like to rent that tricked out 10/22 for about $50 worth of ammo. Could be fun at the trap range.

No one saw nuttin’, no one didn’ do nuttin’, no one knows how dat dead dude ended up there.

Be difficult to hide that cannon in yer back pocket. But it would be great at defending that North Wall. Just stuff it with grapeshot or any other loose metal out of a junkyard (bought for pennies on the pound).
And train the lovely Ms Thang there to be your gunner. Keep her around, AND be useful and functional, not just decorative.
