I have the original 20″ x 28″ poster before it became a meme in this list. It was purchased at the Russian Book Store in New York City in the late 1960’s. The caption is “3A MNP!”
“That is actually a print of a 1950 painting by Fyodor Reshetnikov, a Ukrainian-born Soviet artist. It describes a fantasy scenario, in which French communists are protesting against the creation of NATO (1949). The title “ЗА МИ ” means “for peace” (as in “struggle for peace”). This was a clever way to associate peace with communism, and war with capitalism. It illustrates Karl Marx’s idea that the meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism.”

Yeah, I know, but…One has to admit that Sheryl’s “Betties” have a nice bounce and I’d do some “bam-a-lam” with her. Debated posting their version for the sake of Historical Accuracy. My hormones won that battle. Sue me. *grin*

I like the school hallway yoko ono toon. We did that floor thing in PS 156 during the cold war back in the 1950’s plus under the desk drills.
Seen them in 9mm format at well. A fellow instructor when I was at Lackland had one. His previous station was at Fairchild AFB near Springfield Arms. Springfield would pay overtime in “store credit” and employees would buy gun parts and sell at the Flea Market on weekends. He had some damn nice guns he put together.
Years ago, in my gun collection, I owned an AR-180 made in England. Sold all the “Mil Style” longs guns. In a way, I’m a little sorry like my 1950’s record collection I donated to Hofstra University’s Sunday 50’s radio show just before moving to Florida.
Impractical and outdated, but among the movie guns I want is an AR-18 and a SPAS-12, because The Terminator was a thing. Childish yearnings, but those and the guns from the first Resident Evil game were always ones I wanted. We had a semi-auto Uzi pass through last year, but the Used Gun guy bought it. I figured that for $3k and with the goofy 16″ barrel, he could have it. I’d have had to spend the extra money to get it straight.
I used to have an Auto-Ordnance M1927 Thompson (semi-auto, of course, and with the equally goofy-looking 16″ barrel on it). If I’d have kept it, it would have had to be registered as an SBR. I do wish I still had my FAL and even the HK91. We get a little older and rethink earlier choices in firearms that were more common and a lot cheaper. Fortunately, I was able to replace the Paratrooper SKS that a young Private traded for $40 and a few Beretta mags with a new-in-box one that takes AK mags. Hard pass on the NHM-90 and NHM-91 we got at the same time, though. I paid $200 for my MAK-90 that was traded away 20 years ago. We got those two pristine guns in and sold them for $1500 apiece.
My neighbor allegedly has had an AK in 5.56. A bit of a different beast. For price versus modern practicality (and, of course, barring a future where we can be trusted with newly manufactured “machine guns”), the Ruger SFAR is a nice little rifle. I posted in another thread about them, and my 18″ barreled AR-556 MPR looks an awful lot like the 16″ and 20″ SFARs we sell. Basically, the Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle is an AR-15 in .308, not an AR-10, which tends to be larger and heavier. NEW Ruger SFAR 308 Win – Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle (alloutdoor.com)
MAGPUL furniture, M-Lok slots on a full-length handguard, and a full-length picatinny rail along the top. While M-Lok was new to me when I bought the MPR, it offers a lot more versatility than the quad-rails that military issued M4A1s have. It also has the QD sling attachment point on the stock.
My first AR was a product of the ’94 AWB. It had a 16″ heavy barrel without a flash hider or bayonet lug, standard M4-style handguards, and an M16A2-style stock. The new stuff looks nice, from the Black Rain, CMMG, and Zev guns we sell, to the Rugers, FN, and S&W M&P-15.
Speaking of guns, I took a trade-in earlier on a S&W FPC (Folding Pistol Carbine) and may end up getting it. I’d been considering a Kel-Tec Sub-2000 since those were released, but the FPC folds sideways, allowing optics to stay mounted with fear of damage. It also has storage in the stock for two spare mags. M&P® FPC | Smith & Wesson (smith-wesson.com) I bought my first pistol-caliber carbine from our Used Guns department earlier this year, a basic Ruger PC Carbine I proceeded to convert for left-hand operation and ended up putting the Glock mag well in, despite buying a Security-9 to complement the carbine. Now I have my even more handy 1942 Inland M1 Carbine with vintage Owens stock.
The British L129 is indeed an AR-15 in 7.62mm NATO (which they can’t afford to re-equip their whole military with now) but it’s a designated marksman rifle as the L129A2, at least, for what they can afford. ?fit=1536%2C424&ssl=1

That explains his 4 foot tall gnomes.
Those are lawn jockeys. Not everyone can pull those off- the flat-bed trailer for a front porch is a clue.
Range in meters signs and C-wire tend to keep folks away.
I’d be really nice to have a bouncy yard, iykwim.
You mean like a Betty that bounces and goes bam-a-lam?
Ram jam is the band that did this originally.

Without comment. Ok, maybe one: Who would’ve thought a blimp from New Jersey would go down in flames?
On the Einstein 7.62 meme, I’d take an M4A1 (selectable fire) in 7.62mm NATO w/ 30-round mags any day.
AR-10s exist and AR-15s come in 7.62x39mm… it CAN be done (call it a new M16/M4 variant to make the bureaucratics easier).
