Battlefield Casualty Parked at Russian Embassy

Germans protesting Putin’s invasion of Ukraine parked a destroyed Russian Army tank directly in front of the Russian embassy in Berlin late last week.

The subtle display marked the first anniversary of the invasion.

“The broken tank signifies downfall. Ukraine is going to be Putin’s Stalingrad,” organizer and curator of the Berlin Story Bunker Museum Wieland Giebel stated.

Russian diplomats in Berlin were greeted on Friday with the sight of one of their own ruined tanks, after a pair of German activists parked it outside the embassy.

The gesture came on the first anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The destroyed T-72 1B tank sits at an intersection near the embassy on the city’s famed Unter den Linden boulevard. It’s the culmination of months of work, including a protracted legal battle, by organizers Enno Lenze and Wieland Giebel.

Demilled T-72

That broad German humor. Not real subtle but it does get the point across.

“The broken tank signifies downfall. Ukraine is going to be Putin’s Stalingrad,” organizer and curator of the Berlin Story Bunker Museum Wieland Giebel stated.”… Ok, the gesture is awesome,

On a related note, Mr Giebel does realize that the Russians WON the battle of Stalingrad, doesn’t he?

We were scratching our heads on that comment, then we found this from the Reuters article…(And we are still scratching our heads…)🤔🙄

“The broken tank signifies downfall. Ukraine is going to be Putin’s Stalingrad,” said Wieland Giebel, curator of the Berlin Story Bunker museum, referring to Germany’s defeat in a major battle in World War Two.”

I believe he is referring to the Russians as being the aggressors in this action, and thus they are now going to find themselves surrounded and defeated by the defenders, the Ukrainians.

Berliner

Love it!

Latvia has also put a destroyed Russian tank in front of the Russian embassy in their capital city Riga.

I like this. Not quite as petty as renaming the streets the embassies are on, but this carries much more symbolism.

RCAF-CHAIRBORNE

Must have been difficult to find one with an un popped turret

Or one that’s not pulling a plow in the Ukraine.

Let alone finding one that wasn’t hit by Western munitions supplied to the Ukrainians!

If I am the Russians I’m grabbing it, slapping a new coat of paint on it and sticking the two dumbest privates that traded their lives for an extra sack or taters to die in the Ukraine.

Tanks for the T-72 post Ed.

Good j.o.b. on tweaking the Bear’s nose. Maybe Fritz has forgotten the last time that Red Army Tanks rolled into Berlin. I bet Ivan hasn’t. We ’bout past due for another population control war for Europe.

Again, my sympathies are with the innocents that are caught up in this madness. Ivan may be running out of tanks, but he still has a lot of canned sunshine. Tyrants will burn down the world so they can rule over the ashes.

Anyone else think it’s odd that THE BITCH of Benghazi nor BJW have not had a whole lot to say about this war?

Sweet! I love the in-your-face. Didn’t AOC say protests are supposed to make us uncomfortable? Speaking of which, this could really benefit by her standing by it in her white suit, in tears.

Don’t forget “tax the rich”, spray painted across her ass

Well at least the turret is still right side up on it. That is a bit of a change from how they destroyed ones are usually found. Now it the turret was resting upside down on the hull it might have been a tad more, shall we say, “meaningful”.
