Stacey Abrams in the news

The media has really been staying on top of Ms. Abrams, probably to aid her election campaign for Georgia Governor against Brian Kemp. Unfortunately for her, all the coverage just shows how like fellow Georgian Hank Johnson (“Guam may tip over if we sent more troops there!”)  she really is.

One bright spot -she has finally conceded her election loss:   from 2018.

“I very clearly say I know I’m not the governor…I acknowledged that Brian Kemp won — I acknowledged it repeatedly in that speech.”  Yahoo News

Think that gives her the recent times record on election loss denial – even the seemingly endless Trump claims have only gone since 2020.  She beat that dead horse from 2018 till Sunday last. (Hillary mentioned recently that Trump won, too. Must be something in the air.)

According to multiple outlets,  one of her biggest problems is a lack of black male support. Black women voted for her overwhelmingly and still support her heavily. But as Bloomberg reports, about a third of black males don’t vote at all and about 20% of those who did vote in 2020 voted for Trump, up from 2016’s numbers.

One-third of Black men registered in Georgia haven’t voted in the past several elections, with pollsters saying these disaffected voters just don’t think the outcome will improve their lives.

“What they’re doing is consciously choosing to stay away from elections,” said W. Mondale Robinson, who founded the Black Male Voter Project in 2015…

In 2018, when Kemp defeated Abrams by 55,000 votes, exit polls found that 97% of Black women had voted for Abrams, compared with 88% of Black men. That 9-point gender gap represented 120,000 votes.

88% is actually an extremely strong showing in any demographic – but pundits are finding that discrepancy concerning. Guess voters are supposed to vote race first, issue later.

Abrams hit the news in September for contravening medical fact and in a pro-abortion speech claiming that:

“There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks. It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have a right to take control of a woman’s body away from her.”

Johns Hopkins Medicine outlines what can be expected during the first trimester of pregnancy online and states “by the end of four weeks” an embryo’s “heart is beating” as it starts forming along with the circulatory system. By the end of eight weeks, Johns Hopkins writes that “you can hear the baby’s heartbeat using an instrument called a Doppler.” After Abrams’ heartbeat comments, it was reported that Planned Parenthood recently changed its fetal heartbeat fact sheet, according to Fox News. Planned Parenthood says online that during week five through six of pregnancy, the embryo demonstrates “cardiac activity” that sounds like a beating heart through an ultrasound, “but it’s not a fully-formed heart — it’s the earliest stage of the heart developing” as of Sept. 23.

I’m not a John’s Hopkins fan in general, but when an organization which has leaned as far left as a medical group can calls it a heartbeat, I am inclined to trust what they say. Not a fully formed heart? It ain’t a fully formed baby, either. Her rationale? Those evil men just want to control women… maybe I am odd, but controlling women, the world, or whatever does not loom large on my to-do list. Shutting a few of them up? As the fella in ‘The Mikado’ sez, “I have a little list”…
