Man serving life sentence is wrongfully released from Sacramento jail, found in Stockton

A man serving a life sentence for carjacking and armed robbery was wrongfully released from the Sacramento County Main Jail Wednesday night before being rearrested the next day in Stockton, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.

Sgt. Rod Grassmann said the office was investigating an apparent “human error” that led to Shaquille Lash, 28, being released despite his violent criminal history.

Lash had been transported to the Sacramento County Main Jail from Tehachapi State Prison ahead of a court hearing Friday for EDD unemployment fraud and was released during the booking process around 10:30 p.m., Grassmann said.

The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office confirmed with KCRA 3 he faces one felony count of unemployment benefit fraud. His arraignment hearing on Friday is with five others involved on the fraud case. The EDD said they could not comment on the case.

An error during the day shift had made it appear to the night shift that he was eligible for release.

He said the office was investigating to determine if there was a procedural failure, human failure or a combination of both.

I don’t see how this could happen. He’s a…distinct…looking fellow;

My ex broke my heart — so I sliced off my arm tattoo and mailed it to him

Torz Reynolds – The Crazy is strong with this one

This scorned lover is forever scarred.

Torz Reynolds, a 35-year-old tattoo and body-modification addict, drastically cut off a chunk of her own arm where her then-boyfriend’s name was tattooed after he cheated on her.

The Herefordshire, England, native thought chopping off her limb that was inscribed with her ex’s name was “quicker than lasering it off.”

Reynolds then went the extra mile and mailed the piece of tattooed flesh to her ex-man.

“Years ago, I cut off the tattoo of my ex’s name and sent it back to him in the post,” she told Jam Press.

“He had been a naughty boy and cheated on me so obviously I wasn’t going to keep his name on me anymore,” she continued. “I opted to cut it out purely because I had already done skin removal before. I knew it didn’t hurt that much and it’s much quicker than laser sessions, which is a bit of a long game.”

She went on, “I had totally cut contact with him before I sent it, so I have no idea what his reaction was. This was really just my dark sense of humor at play.”

The Brit runs a body-piercing business and has multiple piercings, tattoos and modifications, including a split tongue, scarification, skin removal and implants.

Apart from her taking off a hunk of arm, she’s also removed her earlobes and clipped off one of her fingers. The extra part of her finger is currently stored in a pendant inside a display cabinet.

She explained that there would be moments that she would tape down her pinkie to see if she could “get along without it and see if it would hinder me in any way.” And well, it turns out it didn’t.

She prefers to do her own work on herself, so for her digit-diminishing procedure, she set up a workstation to ensure it went smoothly. “I have a lot of professional knowledge when it comes to modification, so I knew the risks I was undertaking,” Reynolds said.

She purchased cutters for herself from a local hardware store and set up a sterile environment. After she fashioned a tourniquet for her finger, she made “one quick chop and boom, it was done!”

“It was all over in a second and I couldn’t have been happier,” she said of cutting off her pinky — the detached part of which she has nicknamed Wiggles.

Even though she has the piece of her little finger stored in a necklace, she won’t wear it around her neck because she doesn’t want to lose the precious commodity. “To this day, [Wiggles] just sits at home in my cabinet next to the jar of my earlobes and random dead things,” Reynolds said.

As for her family’s reaction, the ink artist explained they knew that she was “seriously considering” changing her body, “so it didn’t come as much of a shock to them.”

“Like anyone who loves you, they just want me to be safe and happy,” she said.
“I’ve done many other modifications that some might see as extreme, so it was just another Tuesday to them.”

Reynolds also pointed out that she has received some hate for her grisly choices. “After revealing my finger, I got a lot of the usual nonsense: offensive messages, death threats and such, which I always find amusing.”

She added, “It’s bizarre to me that something I do with my body that literally doesn’t affect another single being can upset people that don’t even know me and are unlikely to even ever meet me.”

Death threats? Seems like she’s on the path to an early grave all on her own.

Alleged Seattle hostage-taker cites Dem law to police: ‘SPD is illegally chasing me’

And we thought these soft-on-crime laws and policies would embolden criminals…

A kidnapping suspect called Seattle police officers during a chase, telling them a newly passed Democratic law prevented them from pursuing him, new audio shows.

Isaac Sissel called the Seattle Police Department after allegedly taking his girlfriend and her cat hostage last month to warn them they were participating in “an illegal pursuit” and were “not supposed” to chase him, according to new 911 audio obtained by the Jason Rantz Show on KTTH.

“SPD is illegally chasing me over I don’t know what,” Sissel said to the 911 operator, per the recording. “It’s an illegal pursuit… they’re not supposed to be able to chase.”

When the operator suggested Sissel pull over and speak with the officers, the suspect made an apparent reference to House Bill 1054 as the reason for them being unable to pursue him.

“It is an illegal pursuit and my license is suspended, and this is an illegal pursuit … They’re not supposed to be able to pursue,” the suspect reiterated, KTTH reported.

“Make sure they stop chasing us,” Sissel said in the recording, speaking on behalf of the female in the vehicle, per the report.

While the suspect names “1074” on the call, he appears to be referencing House Bill 1054, which cleared the Democratic-controlled legislature last year amid other law enforcement reform measures.

The legislation restricts how police and law enforcement officers respond to an incident, including a change that affects how officers “pursue after a suspect who is fleeing in a vehicle,” the Pierce County government said.

“Law enforcement officers will only be able to engage in a pursuit if there is ‘probable cause’ to arrest a person in the vehicle for committing a specified violent crime or sex offense,” the government said.

It added: “Law enforcement can no longer pursue after vehicles for any traffic offenses with the exception of Vehicular Assault, Vehicular Homicide, and Driving Under the Influence.”

The law, which went into effect July 25, 2021, also prevents officers from using tear gas, certain defensive tactics, and the use of some equipment.

The legislation appears to allow officers to pursue suspects who commit kidnapping, so it is not immediately clear if the law applied to the situation.

The suspect and the victim had a longstanding relationship, that included routine episodes of abuse, according to a police incident report.

The victim also provided police with private recordings of the suspect threatening her life and the life of her pet cat.

“Officers listened to a recording on [the victim’s] phone recorded on 5/8/22 where Isaac states the following: ‘I’ll stop threatening to kill you if-(recording cuts off)…Your life is not worth more than my car…I would have killed that cat if it were up to me…'” the incident report said.

“[The victim] stated Isaac threatens to kill her approximately 10 times a day. [She] stated Isaac threatens to kill her by shooting her and running her over. [She] stated she was afraid for her life when Isaac made these statements,” it added, per KTTH.

He also regularly evades police, per the incident report, often citing the new law.

According to charging documents, the suspect was previously sentenced for eluding police and criminal mischief with a weapon.

Bus driver from Connecticut charged with reckless endangerment after accidentally eating THC

A commercial bus driver has been charged with 38 counts of reckless endangerment after blacking out behind the steering wheel while snacking on gummies he says he didn’t know were infused with THC.

Jinhuan Chen appeared Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court after being arrested at his home in Boston.

Chen was driving 38 passengers from the Mohegan Sun Casino on March 13 when he stopped the bus on the side of Interstate 95 in Stratford. Police said they found Chen slumped unconscious in the driver’s seat, next to an open package of Smokies Edibles Cannabis Infused Fruit Chews.

Toxicology tests showed Chen had a high level of THC, the active ingredient in cannabis, in his bloodstream, prosecutors said.

Chen told Judge Ndidi Moses on Tuesday that he had no idea he had been snacking on anything but regular candy.

“I didn’t know it was marijuana,” Chen said through a Chinese interpreter, according to Hearst Connecticut Media. “I didn’t know.”

Moses ordered Chen held in lieu of $25,000 bond and set his next court date for Aug. 25.

Victor Chen, the manager of Go Go Sun Tour, the bus company, told Hearst that Jinhuan Chen had been driving for the Boston-based company for 10 years and has an exemplary record.

“He doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, but he has a sweet tooth and likes candy,” Victor Chen said.

“This would never have happened a couple of years ago. But now there’s marijuana everywhere here,” he added.

Who thinks a jury will believe him that he didn’t know “Smokies Edibles Cannabis Infused Fruit Chews” didn’t have weed in them? Show of hands. Nobody? I didn’t think so.

Elephant Kills Woman, Returns to Attack Corpse at Funeral

This isn’t a stupid person so much as a stupid animal. At least a spiteful animal. I guess it’s true that an elephant never forgets.

An elephant trampled a 70-year-old woman to death in eastern India’s Odisha state last week, then returned to attack the same woman’s corpse during her funeral, the National newspaper reported on Monday.

Maya Murmu was collecting water from a well in Odisha’s rural Raipal village on the morning of June 9 when a wild elephant attacked her. The animal “trampled” Murmu, according to the Press Trust of India (PTI), and caused fatal injuries to the older woman. Murmu’s relatives brought her to a local hospital where she died from her wounds hours later.

Murmu’s family arranged a funeral for her at a Raipal residence on the evening of June 9, storing Murmu’s body outside during the ceremony’s preparation.

“[W]hen the family members of Maya Murmu were performing her last rites, the tusker arrived there suddenly and took the body from the pyre,” PTI reported on June 11.

“The elephant again trampled her dead body, threw it and fled. The last rites were conducted after a few hours,” the Indian news agency relayed, citing the account of an eyewitness.

The number of elephant attacks on humans in India has increased in recent decades, according to the National, which is a U.A.E.-based newspaper.

“As many as 3,300 people have been killed in attacks by wild elephants in the country in the last seven years,” the publication reported on Monday, citing Indian government data.

The National further observed on June 13 that at least four people were killed by elephants across India during the previous week. Odisha has recorded the highest number of fatal elephant attacks among Indian states in recent years, with nearly 600 people killed by elephants in the state between 2014 and 2021.

Continuing, the National noted:

India has nearly 27,000 elephants in the wild, according to the last survey conducted in 2017. The numbers are declining amid shrinking forest areas, encroachment of habitats and poaching.

Various state governments are making extensive efforts to curb human-elephant encounters by tagging the animals with radio collars to alert locals of their movement, and raising awareness through campaigns which give tips on dealing with the animals if encountered.

Odisha authorities believe the elephant that killed Murmu on June 9 likely originated from the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary, which is located 124 miles northwest of Raipal village. The closest forest to Raipal is the Krishnachandrapur Betnoti Forest, which is located just 13 miles west of the village.

Hack Stone

Next time that Hack Stone gets a phone call from Jason with the heavy accent from Senior Benefits, he will be sure to ask if coverage includes being stomped to death by a rogue elephant.

The Stranger

I don’t know about that, but this is the first thing that popped into my head when I read the elephant story:

Those pachyderms march better than most Soldiers I’ve run across.

And, naturally, being an Engineer, this was the second:

I remember reading stories about this 20 years ago. Aah, yes, the elephant, Mother Nature’s very own 12N, right down to the drinking!

That chick is why every NCO tells their new Joes “Don’t put your dick in crazy”, but did any of my Joes list to SSG Andy? Nooooo. Did SSG Andy listen to his NCOs when he was a E-nothing? Noooooo. The cycle was endless.

Even though if one digs crazy chicks (da best sex, yo!) the allure wears off when older… i.e., it’s a conscious choice “No!” from experience that hormones don’t provide.

In defense of the Deputy Sheriffs, there are probably 30 inmates with similar facial tattoos as Shaquille Lash.

So, what’s that Bimbo going to lop off next? Oh, and the name Jinhuan Chen, that sounds like American Amish, did he even know enough English to comprehend what the label said? And yeah, Sacramento “accidentally” releases a Convicted Felon serving a life sentence, my bet is the guilty parties will get off as long as they either belong to the right group or are related to the right Politicians.

Ms Thang of The Cray Cray could have a promising career as Chief Surgeon of the FIRST Tranny MASH Unit, ETO. Get the scheduling down and have the addadicktome patient in next to the lopoffadicktome, savings on ORs, staff, and supplies. Win Win. And no, IDC SARC would NOT hit that.

Might be a great idea in seattle to stop all kinds of car chases so this way an LEO won’t get killed on a car stop and he/she could go home at the end of the day.

Berliner

The law affects the whole state because the legislature, from the majority Dems, left out the word “probable” in the text of the new law and refuse to act on legislation submitted to correct it. Lots of stolen car getaways now because of it.

Locally the police were not able to release a K9 after a parking lot murder, They had a report by a person who, after hearing shots outside, came out and saw a person running across an adjacent field.

Had the individual witnessed the person shooting and fleeing they would have had probable cause to release the dog to track.
