Stupid people of the week

Slight title change on the weekly post. The stupidity is so strong that we often stray into non-crimes.

Wife Alerts Husband of Intruder, Leading to Shootout — But Police Say Man Was Actually Her Lover

Police in Alabama are sorting through a “bizarre” incident in which a homeowner, alerted by his wife, shot an alleged intruder — only to later learn the “intruder” was in a relationship with the homeowner’s wife and had been secretly living in his house.

“I’ve still yet to figure out how somebody can be staying in your house and you not know it,” Mobile County Sheriff’s Capt. Paul Burch told TV station FOX 10 News.

“It’s somewhat bizarre,” he said.

The armed “intruder,” Michael Amacker, was shot in the leg and elbow Sunday night at the home in Creola. But Amacker also fired at the homeowner, Frank Reeves, striking him in the chest.

Both men survived their injuries.

Online jail records show that Amacker is being held on charges of attempted murder, possession of a firearm with an altered ID and possession/receiving of a controlled substance.

At the time of the incident, authorities say that both Amacker and the homeowner’s wife, Tracy Reeves, were high on methamphetamines, reports FOX 10. A possible murder-for-hire plot is under investigation, as a potential explanation for why Tracy Reeves told her husband that Amacker was an intruder whom she did not know.

“Another thing with meth,” Burch said, according to WKRG, “people that are on meth, not only do they have paranoia, they can’t keep their mouth shut. So if there was some kind of diabolical plan, it is very possible Amacker has told some other people.”

A neighbor who did not want to be identified told FOX 10 of the Reeves couple: “I just know that they’ve had some problems in the past.”

She added: “Frank is a very calm person. He’s very nice. He cuts his grass and does things around the house. There’s nothing ever going on over there much, but he is a very good person.”

“I hate that it happened to Frank, because he’s just not the type of person to be a troublemaker, and I hope he’s okay,” she said.

Burch said it was Tracy Reeves who alerted her husband to the alleged intruder.

“He got up and armed himself,” he told FOX 10. “A shootout ensued; he noticed the suspect was armed as well. They began shooting at one another.”

“Mrs. Reeves called her daughter, who lived across the street, or in close proximity. Her and her husband came over and then held Amacker at gunpoint, who was trying to flee the scene, until deputies arrived.

“As we began digging further into the investigation, it was determined that Amacker actually had a relationship with Mrs. Reeves for some period of time,” said Burch. “That relationship involved methamphetamine, as well as a relationship. He had actually been staying in one of the rooms within the house for a period of time. She was supplying him with food.”

Bottles of urine found in the room where Amacker was staying “indicated he had been in there for a little while,” Burch told WKRG.

“It was just a very odd scene,” he said, according to FOX 10.

“He was basically staying at the house in a bedroom without the knowledge of Mr. Reeves,” he told the station. “It’s unclear exactly how long he’d been there, but he was there at least overnight for some period of time.”

UK Parliament Makes Unprecedented Decision to Hold Biden in Contempt

President Biden’s mishandling of the Afghanistan withdrawal may yet prove to be the defining stretch of his administration.

The Taliban’s swift takeover of the country — which the president, only weeks prior, came just short of guaranteeing would not happen so quickly — has left between 10,000 and 15,000 American citizens forsaken within the borders of a country now controlled by terrorists.

The U.S. isn’t the only nation with a presence in Afghanistan, however. Abandoning the country with such haste has also left thousands of foreign citizens from our friends and allies at risk as well.

The U.K. Daily Mail reported on Wednesday that “the UK faces a desperate race to evacuate 6,000 Britons and eligible Afghans amid scenes of stampeding crowds and Islamist fanatics.”

Because of this, on Wednesday, the British Houses of Parliament decided to hold Biden’s handling of the situation in contempt, with lawmakers condemning his withdrawal plan as “catastrophic” and “shameful,” according to The Telegraph.

Members of parliament from across the political spectrum were forceful in their rebuke of Biden.

California man sues after bear in dumpster surprises him

A California man has filed a lawsuit after a bear in a dumpster startled him at a town in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, causing him to flee and injure himself, according to court documents.

John Donaldson was vacationing in the tourist area of Incline Village in September 2019 when he opened a dumpster to toss his dog’s waste when he found a bear that began to approach him.

Donaldson fled the scene, tripped, and injured himself. Court documents say he tore his Achilles tendon and compressed his spine, both of which required surgery.

Donaldson, who is from Davis, California, is suing Incline Crest Condominium Association, which manages the property where he was staying, and Waste Management of Nevada, Inc., for $15,000.

In the lawsuit, Donaldson alleges that Incline Village and other parts of Lake Tahoe have a “serious and persistent bear problem, predominantly trash related.” He also alleges that the dumpster had been malfunctioning for several months.

Waste Management of Nevada declined to comment when reached by Fox News. Neither Donaldson’s lawyer nor Incline Village responded to requests for comment by publication.

Finally, transgenderism and mental illness:

Largest study to date confirms overlap between autism and gender diversity

People who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth are three to six times as likely to be autistic as cisgender people are, according to the largest study yet to examine the connection. Gender-diverse people are also more likely to report autism traits and to suspect they have undiagnosed autism.

Researchers often use ‘gender diverse’ as an umbrella term to describe people whose gender identities — such as transgender, nonbinary or gender-queer — differ from the sex they were assigned at birth. Cisgender, or cis, refers to people whose gender identity and assigned sex match.

The results come from an analysis of five unrelated databases that all include information about autism, mental health and gender.

Alabama??? Not Florida??? WTH?

Dr. Crypto

We have been a bit jealous of Florida for a while and are desperately trying to catch up! I wonder whose beer she held while they shot each other?

Hatchet

My guess would most likely be Amacker, ‘the ‘unknown house-guest’..

KoB

“…wonder whose beer she held…” Her cousin’s, the husband? :leer: (jk Doc, I got kin in AL…that I’m not married to) RTR

You know you’ve arrived as an article contributor when one of your submitted articles makes 2 different thread posts. I’m so proud.

I still say the hubbie should divorce the wife, and two guys live in the house happily ever after.

Hondo

It was IVO Mobile – which as I recall is somewhat “different” than the rest of the state.

Hatchet

Call it an inkling but something tells me that when the dust settles after all of this, Alabama Frank is going to be having a rathervsincere chat with a divorce lawyer..or at least, he really ought to..

Many kudos’ to the stogey fossils in UK Parliament! While not-much will ensue from this non-American decision, it does tell the World that elsewhere, Biden is held in the same contempt that he’s shown the American citizens he’s been sworn to defend and protect.

California man suing a dumpster company because he got ambushed by one of Mother Nature’s finest? Har… Good luck with that one, Chuck!! Think the judge will probably stifle a laugh and straight-faced declare – ‘Don’t feed or antagonize the bears, case dismissed’ and promptly laugh himself silly in chambers..

‘ People who do not identify with the sex they were assigned at birth are three to six times as likely to be autistic as cisgender people are’ – confusing times for those who are already confused… Thank you, Mason.

USAFRetired

Cis and trans are used to describe geometric isomers in Organic chemistry and has nothing to do with gender. And trying to apply them is just ignorant.

The real life irony of a bear, the woods, and shit, is just too much!

Not only is the lady from Alabama the absolute picture of hotness but she was apparently arrested on drug charges as well. Shocking stuff really.

You shouldn’t sugar coat the UK and NATO response to the Biden shit show in Afghanistan. Let’s throw some quotes in there:

From Foreign Times:

“This kind of troop withdrawal caused chaos. Chaos causes additional suffering,” Artis Pabriks, Latvia’s defence minister, told local radio on Tuesday. Such long-term missions were unlikely in the future, he added: “This era is over. Unfortunately, the west, and Europe in particular, are showing they are weaker globally.”

He echoed Ben Wallace, UK defence secretary, who appeared on the verge of tears on Monday as he predicted “some would not get back” from the war-torn country. “It’s sad. Twenty years of sacrifice is what it is,” he said.

Armin Laschet, Germany’s conservative candidate to succeed chancellor Angela Merkel, on Tuesday called the troop withdrawal “the greatest debacle that Nato has experienced since its foundation”.

Hatchet

Agreed. That and more but at least a mostly-credible foreign Gov’t has spoken up..Turd-blossom-Trudeau and Twot-rocket-Freeland? Not so much.

Hatchet

Canada’s got, what? Two CAF C-17’s officially committed to evacuating Canadians, dependents and so-called approved foreign nationals. Guess at this point, Trudeau is trying to look better by saying less and for once in his political-life, trying to be seen or trying to appear to be doing more.

“Hold Biden in Contempt”
Add that to the UN’s strongly worded letter and now we are starting
to see some real action.

KoB

I must be a trendsetter, ‘beans. I’ve held biden in contempt for nearly 50 years now. Took ’em long enough to play catch up.

David

And just today in other articles Biden was denying that any allied governments were upset with him…

5JC

That is why no heads are going to roll. Biden isn’t really in charge, no one is. So there will be no accountability of anyone of importance. Maybe the 3rd undersecretary of State will take one for the team but no one that was really responsible.
