How did veteran candidates fare yesterday?
According to Military Times, there were 182 vets running for Congress this year across the US. That’s an increase from last cycle’s 173. I can’t go through the list one by one, but here are the results of some of the higher profile contests. Results are as of the time of writing this, mid-afternoon on Nov 4.
- Alek Skarlatos (R) – Lost to incumbent Peter DeFazio (D-OR) 46.3% to 51.6% with 84% precincts reporting.
- While I’m on Oregon, the state also voted to decriminalize possession of small amounts of hard drugs and legalized the therapeutic use of magic mushrooms. In the closely watched Portland, OR mayoral race, incumbent Ted Wheeler (D) was reelected over Sarah Iannarone (Communist I assume).
- Cal “Jody” Cunningham (D) from North Carolina appears to have lost in his bid to oust Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC). 93% of precincts are reporting, with Tillis up 48.7% to Cunningham’s 46.9%.
- Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) has comfortably won a second term to the US House with 56.1% of the vote against his Democrat opponent’s 42.3%. 100% of precincts are reporting.
- Gil Cisneros (D-CA), Navy vet who won $266M in the lottery, seems to have lost to his Republican challenger and will not serve a second term. 88% reporting and Cisneros is at 49.8% to his Republican opponent’s 50.2%.
- Lindsey Graham (R-SC) fended off a challenger (who spent more than $100M on his losing race) to remain in the Senate. With 91% reporting, Graham has an insurmountable lead of 54.8% to 43.9%.
- In the case of the dueling fighter pilots, Arizona’s sitting Senator, Republican Martha McSally lost to Democrat Mark Kelly. Both have impressive resumes. McSally was the first US fighter pilot to fly in combat and retired from the Air Force as a colonel. Kelly retired from the Navy as a captain and had spent the latter half of his career as a NASA astronaut. He spent 54 days in total in space, and flew four Space Shuttle missions (commanding the final two). Kelly is married to retired Congresswoman Gabby Giffords (D-AZ) who was shot in 2011. With 83% of precincts reporting, Kelly has 52.6% to McSally’s 47.4%.
- Sean Parnell (R) won over incumbent Conor Lamb (D-PA) 53.6% to 46.4% with 94% reporting.
- Doug Collins (R) is coming in third in the Georgia Senate contest behind Raphael Warnock (D) with 32.1% and Kelly Loeffler (R) with 26.3%. This race will go to a runoff.
I’ll add some more later and more results come in.
***Updates***
- Anna Paulina Luna (R) – The Air Force vet running to unseat Congressman Charlie Crist (D-FL) has lost her race 47% to 53% with 100% reporting.
- Congressman Mike Gallagher (R-WI) won reelection, soundly defeating his opponent by 64% to 34% with 100% reporting. *Tip o’the hat to Skyjumper*

You can add Mike Gallagher who just won reelection to the U.S. House in Wisconsin’s 8th Congressional District. Gallagher received 65% of the vote.
Gallagher was a United States Marine Corps officer, serving seven years (2006–2013) on active duty. He twice deployed to the Al Anbar Province, Iraq, serving on General Petraeus’ CENTCOM Assessment Team as a commander of intelligence teams. He assessed American military strategy in the Middle East and Central Asia while as a counterintelligence officer, and member of the CENTCOM (Central Command) assessment team.
His rank was Captain.
Opps, forgot. He’s also Republican.
Jody got stomped. Good.
AOC – First Space Commando (Autistic Company) to walk on the Sun.
Doug Collins (a fine gentleman) conceded/dropped out of the race last night. It was a pretty much known fact that race would go to a runoff. Hell, there were 12 people running for that slot. Trump had actually wanted Collins to be appointed to fill out the rest of the term, but our RINO guvanator sold out to the RNC when Loffler donated nearly a million $ to HQs RNC. Loffler nor her husband are from around here, he owns the brokerage NYSE firm, she’s a poor little rich girl from Indiana that owns a WNBA Team and a 15 million $ house in Buckhead. She was also buddy buddy with Stacy Abrams, but suppressed all of those photo ops during the campaign. Warnock was playing that special card in his deck, using Stacy and the JEF as mouth pieces. The majority of Georgians will have to hold their noses when the vote in that runoff. If Kelly wins, she’ll have gotten that seat the old fashioned way. She bought it.
Like every other state, Georgia’s metro areas Atlanta, Augusta, Columbus, Savannah, Macon, and Albany, have diluted the red vote so much that we are going purple.
It is becoming apparent that we will not be able to keep our Republic much long. Pity that the FSA and SJWs were allowed to destroy it.
Joni Ernst won reelection, after a very expensive challenge, didn’t she?
Joe Collins, R Black Navy vet, got stomped (75-25) by Maxine Waters, sadly
Oh, and Kelly’s prior careers don’t count against his being a LSOS for his wife’s gun ban group.
Or for his pulling a Joe Biden and not taking a position on court packing.
I’ll just leave this here:

His brother and I share an alma mater, and from what I hear Mark is an arrogant sack of crap off camera.
Not surprised.
Apparently he wasn’t the “right” kind of black???
Tell me again which party are the racists??
Fyrfighter,
I had my hopes up for Joe Collins.
Also for Kim Klacik, the Baltimore GOP female hopeful.
Cities don’t fix themselves.
Ugh.
Ugh.
What’s also important is that Nancy Pelosi’s district are a bunch of white supremacists. She won handily over a man of color (Shahid Buttar), also a democrat.
Why did San Francisco pick a rich old white woman over a man of color? Aren’t they supposed to be giving equal opportunity to him?
“equal opportunity”
It’s now called “equality of outcome”
Army vet John James put up a great fight, but got TKO’d in Michigan US Senate race. Fox News reported republican poll watchers were escorted out of a Detroit polling center…and the poll workers cheered.
After the Republican poll watchers were removed from the room, the poll workers put up cardboard on the windows, so that no one could observe that influx of votes for Biden and Gary Dick, er, Peters.
The sjws tell us that the Republicans must diversify, to appeal to all Americans. Then the racist assholes refuse to vote for black or Asian Republicans in any great numbers. Maybe because those Republican minorities don’t subscribe to the FSA mantra?
What about vets that ran by writing in their own name?
Where is their voice in this survey?
Sister Mary, Grade School Grammar Nazi here, wielding the Dreaded Ruler; the title should read “Fare”, not “Fair”. Now hold out your hand.
Ex, why didn’t you catch that?
Because she is AntiGra.
Ex? AntiGra? Perish the thought! Where do you think I got the character of Sister Mary? (long may they both wave)
Now Tox, nobody picks on you and your forays into grammatical fantasy. I’ve likely even corrected a few, unasked, as I will occasionally do.
Yeah, Mason is a new Editor, so be kind. At least, kinder than y’all were to me. And remember, he IS an Editor and all that implies, including getting creative with comments that may piss him off.
Not that I have ever done that, or would condone such behavior.
*grin*
‘Ed, et al,
And I love a’y’all too.
(which may be “grammatical fantasy”, but it’s not incorrect, unlike “fair” vs “fare”)
We fared fairly well at the fair. The fair fare was fair, with the corn dog being crunchy crusty and the chili dog not so fair (chili had beans). The cotton candy fare had a fair scent of unicorn fart to it. The uber fare was fair in that there was a fair amount of us to share the fare. I’m hoping the fare for the Thursday are for Cooking will be along fairly quickly and we will enjoy the fare that our Fair Mi’Lady presents. It would not be fair if the Thursday are for Cooking fare was Ham & Muthers.
In New York, Max Rose (D, U.S. Army, NYARG, representing Staten Island and a bit of Brooklyn) is trailing significantly behind Nicole Malliotakis. Race hasn’t been called yet, but, 58% to 42, with approximately 85% reported.
Name edited to protect PII.
AW1
Have to make a correction: McSally was NOT the “first US fighter pilot to fly in combat.” Depending upon your definition of “fighter pilot,” that record would have been set in WWI. She was, indeed, the first FEMALE fighter pilot to fly in combat, but far from the first pilot.
GEORGE TEAL, the Castle Rock, Colorado town councilman
and phony Desert Storm Times Veteran,
who was kicked out of the VFW,
and beat a legitimate and honored Bronze Star combat veteran
in the spring GOP primary for Douglas County Commissioner,
WON his election,
and is soon to be a County Commissioner.
1 word from me, UGH !!!!!!!

Navy Veteran and GOP hopeful JOE COLLINS,
who ran against Maxine Waters for US Congress,
is losing with only 28% of the counted votes.
Ugh. Again.
I’m glad Graham won in SC. I don’t always agree with his positions as he can be too much of an “establishment swamp creature” from time to time. The amount of “out of state money” being funneled into mostly (D) candidates is something I would like to see stopped. Coastal Libs funding officials elected to represent a state that you don’t live is election interference as much anything else.
Callahan County, Texas (Clyde) has a NEW County Sheriff.
It is NOT Leroy Foley.
Is is NOT Rick Jowers.
Congratulations to Eric Pechacek.
This is real, practical, and significant
benefit and contribution to society,
thanks to the efforts of this website.

Mark Robinson was elected Lt. Gov!!
