Man Allegedly Swings Sword at Police Officers, Gets Shot Dead

A man allegedly armed with a sword and swinging it toward officers was shot dead by Detroit police Thursday.

The Daily Mail reports that the man allegedly ignored an officer’s commands to drop the sword and even went so far as to swing it while allegedly walking toward the officer.

The man also allegedly had an 8-inch dagger, which he threw at an officer as well.

Detroit Police Chief James Craig said, “At some point, I’m not sure if it was before or after (the Taser was used), the suspect took out a second sharp object … an 8-inch dagger; threw it in the direction of the officer, striking the officer below the right eye.”

After the dagger was thrown, the officer’s partner shot the suspect, fatally wounding him.

Craig said a taser was used before resorting to lethal force, but the taser was ineffective because the man had shielded his torso with “something like what a hockey player would wear.”

Man who shot Garrett Foster at downtown Austin protest claims self-defense, attorney says

The person who shot and killed Garrett Foster, who was participating in a protest in downtown Austin last Saturday night, has exposed his identity in an email from his attorney as Daniel Perry.

In the emailed press release from F. Clinton Broden and Broden & Mickelsen, it is said that Perry’s reason for shooting at Foster was solely because he felt like his life was threatened and acted in self-defense.

Foster was shot Saturday night by a motorist, now identified as Perry per his attorney’s email, who had just turned south onto Congress Avenue from Fourth Street and was been surprised by the number of people on the street.

APD is asking anyone with relevant information on the shooting, including original video footage or images, to come forward. Currently, police have not identified Perry, or any other person related to the shooting.

Preliminary reports indicate a car got caught in the crowd and was surrounded by marchers when Foster– who was legally open carrying a rifle–approached the vehicle, which Perry claims he was driving.

The Whitfield County Sheriffs Office is investigating a robbery that occurred at the Pilot Travel Center at 243 Connector 3.

The robbery occurred outside of the business in the back parking lot and involved a truck driver. The truck driver was strong-armed by four white male assailants. During the struggle, the victim retrieved a handgun that he had on him and shot at one of the assailants. Once the victim began shooting, all the assailants dispersed.

One of the robbers fled in a gold Chrysler Town and County van and the remaining three fled on foot.

It was not known if any of the remaining three assailants had another vehicle on the property.

A BOLO was broadcast for the Chrysler. Shortly after the BOLO was issued, the Georgia Department of Public Safety – Motor Carrier Compliance Division located the vehicle traveling on I-75 northbound at approximately the 341 mile marker. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and the driver, Walter Wathen, 52, was taken into custody without incident.

You mean, something like the attached, 11B? A knife by any other name (sword, dagger, ect) is still a knife and a “gun” is still sometimes how a firearm is referred as. And we ALL know what you don’t take to a gunfight.

The Chattanoogan story just proves that the trash comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors.

Go Army Beat Air Farce. Saw that my ownself on a news feed the other night at 0God30 hrs. Sleeze media is still trying to spin it as redneck murders peaceful protester.

The Henry in a .44 was on my to get list after my road trip was finished. Shoulda done it before the Chinesecommunist Originated Virus Infecting Disease of 2019 showed up. Looks like if I want one now, I’ll have to do the special order, wait for it, and take what is shipped thing. Mrs. Winchester and her inside connections to the War Department Procurement Offices put a real hurt on Henry Arms back there in the mid 1860s.

Looks like a fun gun to shoot all afternoon.
Like the Buckhorn sight for quick target aquisition.
    Here is the detail page:

    Note the specifications…”ok for lefties”… that’s funny.

  3. David says:

Saw a pic of the Austin shooter elsewhere, looks to be Cav. He said the shot fella tapped on the window of his car with the barrel of his AK. Sounds to me like the muzzle was close enough to his head to justify the shoot.

  4. Thunderstixx says:

Sgt Perry is stationed at Ft Hood and was working for Uber.
What happened to him is why I refuse to go downtown after 7 PM.
I’m watching this closely as it is indicative of the shit these protesters are pulling all over America.
It’s just that here in Texas…
    You can shoot back…..
I believe he has Texas Law Shield, I hope so. They have yet to lose a case.

Army beats Air Force by one touchdown in last weekend’s matchup.

This was posted by Hack on the original Garrett Foster thread, but may have been overlooked by the lovable Deplorables who frequent This Ain’t Hell.

Q: What were Garrett Foster’s last words?

A: “Is that pussy holding a Glock?”

  5. TallyWhagger says:

I thank Sgt Perry for ridding the street of yet another malicious, depraved and irrational cretin.

    • UpNorth says:

The still pic I saw that was from one of the videos showed that the moron with the AK had it raised to his shoulder, pointing it at SGT Perry. Garret Foster got exactly what he deserved.

      • 26Limabeans says:

Foster was obviously not trained in the
safe carrying of a firearm. Raising the stock to
cheek level is just as threatening as raising the
barrel and deserves the same response.

We were taught “up” and “down range” as safe but
now it is just “down” to the ground with a sling.
Can’t do that with an old battle rifle like the M14.
The muzzle would drag on the ground.

  6. Jarhead says:

You know things are getting bad when Texas sees this type of rioting and looting.

The rioting in major cities across the U.S. has spread to Sun City, Georgetown, Texas, a retirement community of over 12,000.

Looters in Texas’ friendliest hometown have especially broken into stores that sell items like laxatives, vitamins, hearing aids, reading glasses, energy drinks and surgical stockings.

The Seniors were easily caught and arrested since they were using their walkers and golf carts to flee.

The protests have been limited to the evening hours because most of the lawbreakers either had doctor’s appointments during the day or rioting would have interfered with their naps.

The marches didn’t last that long because many of the demonstrators had to get home to pee. In many cases, the demonstrators simply forgot why they were even there.

Officials considered a curfew starting at 8 p.m. but since that’s the time when most of the residents go to bed anyway, it was decided that it wasn’t needed.

Community leaders concluded that part of the problem was that residents were restless because they had too much time on their hands since the recreation centers, pools, theaters, boutique stores and especially the bars were closed due to the corona virus.

Community officials wanted to form a committee to look further into the problem, but the next day no one could remember why they needed a committee.

    • Sarge says:

Its Austin…a festering shithole of liberalism. I’ve got a friend who lives there and wants to move out. In the last five years, lots of Commiefornia peoples have moved in and made things so much worse.
