It seems Paul Rieckhoff took a break from sucking bat guano off cave walls long enough to spew some more of his caustic nonsense.

WASHINGTON — Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert Wilkie on Thursday told a conservative media outlet that President Donald Trump is the first president in more than 100 years to take veteran suicide seriously.“President Trump is the first president since the 1890s who recognized the scourge of veteran suicide,” Wilkie said during an interview on the One America News Network, known as OANN, a pro-Trump media outlet.Wilkie denied making the comment later Thursday during a call with reporters and pointed to the Trump administration’s work on veterans issues.“This president has allowed me to present the two largest budgets in this department’s history,” he said. “No one has ever tackled suicide in a comprehensive way.”

Wilkie’s appearance on OANN is not the first time that the VA secretary has spoken to a conservative news outlet. In March, he was interviewed on Breitbart, where he warned “socialism” will destroy the VA. At the time of the interview, self-identified democratic socialist, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., was the frontrunner in the Democratic presidential primary.

Paul Rieckhoff, who founded Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, a nonprofit veterans advocacy group, challenged Wilkie’s comment on Trump’s efforts with veterans suicide.

“Nobody has done enough, but it’s a lie to say nobody has done anything but Trump,” Rieckhoff said. “Anyone who’s spiking the ball on suicide is way out of touch.”

For those that might not know about Rieckhoff and his band of embellishing blowhards,  they have been on the pages around here for a very long time.  Jonn wrote about his needless embellishments HERE and HERE for example.

His organization has been a safe haven for some of our worst Valor Vultures.  I posted about Megan Morse HERE as another example.  I am not sure what name she is hiding behind these days but if history teaches us anything…she ain’t far.   The video of her lies is a Classic.

The only time I have ever read a quote from Paul Rieckhoff that made any sense… that turned out to be stolen as well.

So, as you know, we had a milblog conference this weekend.  The Washington Times kindly attended and covered it.  From their article:

Paul Rieckhoff, executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, lamented “stereotypes” about veterans: Veterans are often presented as “unhinged” and prone to violence. The panelists on veterans affairs were unanimous: The media highlight stories in which violence occurs, they said. What about all the productive work of veterans? Many veterans continue to be community leaders after their military service; they carry on the values of serving the common good and remain role models.

Wow, Paul’s statement almost makes sense doesn’t it?

Ok, On slight edit as the Xanax kicks in, I hate to be mad because honestly this author seemed VERY nice, and getting us print is always a good thing.  Always.  But confusing me with Paul?  Krusty the clown I get.  Maybe the time to make the donuts guy.  But Paul?  I mean, Paul?????
