If you ever wanted to see a pissed off TSO, come to my office…
So, as you know, we had a milblog conference this weekend. The Washington Times kindly attended and covered it. From their article:
Paul Rieckhoff, executive director of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, lamented “stereotypes” about veterans: Veterans are often presented as “unhinged” and prone to violence. The panelists on veterans affairs were unanimous: The media highlight stories in which violence occurs, they said. What about all the productive work of veterans? Many veterans continue to be community leaders after their military service; they carry on the values of serving the common good and remain role models.
Wow, Paul’s statement almost makes sense doesn’t it?
Except…..PAUL WASN’T THERE, THAT WAS ME THAT SAID THAT!!!!!!
ARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH! I’m joining Cartman’s pirate group, because the rules of our society are too stringent, and the DHS is already watching me.
Ok, On slight edit as the Xanax kicks in, I hate to be mad because honestly this author seemed VERY nice, and getting us print is always a good thing. Always. But confusing me with Paul? Krusty the clown I get. Maybe the time to make the donuts guy. But Paul? I mean, Paul?????

So is it safe to say that TSO = the Ringo of milblogging?
Paul couldn’t have bothered to show up. Or, he knew there were the support your country/God fearing/pro-killing Islamic Militants folks in attendance he doesn’t need to deal with at home in NYC..
…Newman!
Paul Rieckhoff doesn’t admit he’s Paul Rieckhoff, who usually claims he’s just a piano player in a bordello since it’s less embarassing.
TSO, I feel for you dude. You’ve be seriously wronged.
That’s great irony. A quote about the stereotyping of veterans is mis-attributed because of the Times’ perception that all veterans are the same.
I can empathize. In fact every ‘Nam vet can empathize. If this is the worst you have to endure, be glad.
Aside: When I knew Paul wasn’t coming I let AS know. Our teleconference had technical problems anyway.
TSO, you and paul dickoff have about as much in common as hitler had with the Jews!
Yes, I’d be insulted too, and I don’t insult very easily!
lol tso. it was a nice thing to say only if they gave you credit. or the blog good pr or something. he stole your words! i do kindof like cartman’s pirate group — save that as an option.
Karma baby… It’s karma.
I can’t stop laughing but I really don’t think it’s funny. I’m sure Paul’s not very thrilled about it either.
Sorry babe!
AG
Look on the bright side… it could be worse… they could have attributed some of Reikhof’s rantings to you.
Dang comments on the article are diabled, Did vote in their poll to close the border though.
When I read that “quote” attributed to Paul R, I went hmmmm…Somebody got something wrong here since he wasn’t at the milblog conference and it really didn’t sound like him.
Now it makes much more sense.
It’s sad that even “friendly” reporters can’t get shite right.
