DC Tea Party complete with Leftist insurgencies
I’m sorry I took so long to get this up – the rain turned my laptop into an eight pound paperweight so here I am at home with a beer cracked open again.
Here’s the crowd when I first got there;
I guess there were about 500 until the rain started pouring down on us and it thinned out a bit. But there were some good signs;
Some needed spell check;
The pig balloons made another appearance;
There were rumors that some of the Left were going to infiltrate the tea parties. Of course, being DC and being full of liberals, you just know the crack pots would show up to try and disrupt it. Like Code Pink’s Medea Benjamin;
Medea had a piece of pink tape on one of her three corners that said I (heart) Fox like that’d be camoflage. I asked her if she thought her disguise was good enough;
Then there were these clowns from MoveOn who tried to make it look as if we protesting for the rich;
The sign;
This guy made sense until he started ranting about the war;
It was a pretty good turn out until the rain started pounding us. We saw an IVAW shirt and a few Ron Paul shirts. I didn’t get as many pictures as I normally would because of the rain, but I think I captured the mood – as dampened as it became. Surprisingly, a huge number of people stuck around. We had us a good little group of our own. TSO hooked up with LT Nixon and we ran into Hooper and 509th Bob.
As always, there are more pictures at my Flickr PhotoStream. Age of Hooper has more pictures and videos – I especially like the “Did I do that?” sign.

Just got back from the D.C. party myself. I noticed that Code Pink did vanish rather quickly. Thank you for pointing out the Move On folks. I was there when they showed up and had no clue who they were representing.
There was rain, so soap would have scared Media Benjamin away.
Medea looks an awful lot like Ichabod Craine…just sayin’
I could only stop by around 1340, went around the quite a sizable group looking for you guys, did not find any of you, but then I could not really walk in my shoes in many places due to the rain… Did find some of my Freeper friends coming back to the party after waiting out the heavy rain in a nearby food joint… I think this turn out was much better than the one against the bail-outs…
I’m traveling with the family but found a Tea Party in Lima Ohio. Was a pretty good turn out considering the rain and the cold.
Hi guys,
Just got back fromt the Trenton TEA party.
We had a good turnout-considering the nasty weather here.
There were about 200-300.
Saw some “twittering” Huff infiltrators, but we just ignored them.
Keep the faith!
[…] about Sacremento? How about DC? Where Code Pinkos showed up, but apparently the Obamasiah was blissfully ignorant of the goings […]
Ohh, I’m feelin’ the love between you and Susie Benjamin.
Now there is a woman in desperate need of Botox.
Loved the photos, Jonn! During the 30 minutes I was out there, there were some many people under a sea of umbrellas, it was hard to truly sense a size of the crowd. Plus, as I was leaving (in the rain), I saw more people showing up with cameras, which suggests to me that they weren’t mere tourists. For what its worth, if anybody posts photos of a group with green umbrellas, those WERE tourists, from Germany. I don’t count them as Tea Partyers.
Jonn wrote: yeah, I’ve had 14,000 views of my photos today on Flickr most track back to Leftist blogs.
Hi Jonn,
There were over two thousand in Charlotte’s tea party – my husband was interviewed by the local media and was the lead story on the 6pm news. His sign “If you aren’t outraged then you aren’t paying attention”. My favorite sign at the rally: “Reduce spending, elect drunken sailors”
Great turnout, lots of public support, cars honking and lots of support. No loony left present. It was a good day.
Great picture Jonn. I have some posted from the Syracuse Tea Party on two of my blogs.

There are also some pictures on the Syracuse.com/ web site.

Thanks for the DC photos. A few Sacramento Tea Party photos here: http://cancelthebee.blogspot.com/2009/04/sacramento-tax-day-tea-party-update.html
Two thoughts –
One – Code Pink should have wailed, “I’m melting! I’m meellllllltiiiinnnnnggg…” as they left. And two, related :
Two : Has anyone checked to see if Code Pinko’s admission forms REQUIRE that all members be pukeworthy skanks so ugly that they would be turned down by even Janet Reno in a drug stupor wearing a blindfold? Or is this just coincidental?
Thanks for the update on the DC party. My daughter and I went to the Rapid City, SD party. There was a turn out of several hundred, which was good for the middle of a cold work day in a small city. Great signs, great support from passing motorists and great speeches. Participants ranged from young to people my mother’s age (78). No moonbats that I noticed.
Well, I looked for you out there. Between the pouring rain, massive mud puddles and the sea of umbrellas it was a lost cause even tried calling you).
Thought the event went well. I think my pics look similar to yours with the exception of ‘code pink’… thankfully I missed them.
Will it be ok to post your link on RN… Won’t do it unless you say I can.
Wished I could have been in DC with you guys. We had 500 in Reston tonight, despite the rain, cold and last minute location change.
By the way, that was probably Medea’s first shower in weeks!
You need to work on your spelling. Her nom de whatever is spelled “Media”, as in “look at ME!!!look at ME!!!”
The Rapid City Journal said there were nearly 1000 at the RC Tea Party. Shows I can’t judge crowds.
I’m surprised you missed the “Hocus POTUS” sign, that was one of my favorites.
I think I saw you there, there were four guys talking about hot air and I thought, ” I bet I know these guys” but I didn’t say anything.

Atlanta topped out at roughly 20k according to most estimates. There were a bunch of students who wandered in from Georgia State University (commies) who were busy slapping up posters on traffic signals, call boxes, etc. for a site called savetherich.com. Had pics of Hannity on there calling him a traitor. Interesting take. At the top of the poster was something to the effect of “The REAL patriots of the first tea party are spinning in their graves”. Clearly American history isn’t one of these dumb masses core subjects…
One thing, did you notice the cops?
There were 5 of them and they were hanging around on benches near Pennsylvania Avenue, three of them had their backs to the crowd while the other two were looking all around, (over at the Gitmo crew and back to the Tea Party and over to the street and…..).
It’s funny, but when our peace-loving and tolerant types protest against the war, the cops have to pay close attention and the area has to be extensively cleaned up afterwards.
This protest full of hate-filled, racist, arrogant, hillbilly rednecks was mostly ignored by the cops and the ground looked pretty darn clean as I was leaving.
I took some pics, DoublePlusUndead might post them.
Look at pics above and elsewhere and marvel at how clean the ground is at each protest. Not like our eco-conscious types who seem to throw away plastic water bottles the way some people breathe.
Yeah, I noticed that this morning when I crossed the capitol campus to get to my office. The only sign I saw of there being any sort of gathering down here was a single business card someone clearly dropped…it was for a site called thedrakingpoint.com, some political cartoonist/blogger of the rightwing persuasion. Other than that, nothing…not a clue that 20,000 people had been here…now, compare that with the annual Freaknik bullshit we used to endure:

I saw 3 cops standing at the south end of the rally between the Gitmo protest and the TEA party, they were bored. Then the 2 of them paid attention to some guy, had him take off his shoulder bag and a rain poncho. Then they simply escorted him from the lawn onto the roadway of Penn Ave, as I was leaving, I heard one of the officers say “I know you are a well-educated person, I can see it…” The entire incident went down calmly and quietly… Do not know what it was about though…
Marooned,
I did not know you were my neighbor :o)
If any of you wants to go back to the hippies’ 70s, the time machine is working at the Lake Anne Town Center/Plaza…
Glad to know that we have at least 500 reasonable people in Reston left…
Here’s pics from ATL:

It was nice to finally neet you. I think my two favorite signs were:
“I’ve read more of the bailout than my Senator has”
and
“Buck the Fail Out”…works on so many levels.
PS to Veeshir :
“Not like our eco-conscious types who seem to throw away plastic water bottles the way some people breathe.”
Bro – those ain’t water bottles; they say “Massengills Medicated” on the side…. yeah, they are disposable douche bottles, and the sad thing is, the ones who are using & tossing them are the guys.
Remember – Buddy is Only Half The Word.
I’m not shocked at all. I left a posting here yesterday on my point of view.. Now coming back to see if there was any responses to it. With the biggest responses of all..
CENSORSHIP.. bunch of hypocrites I say…
Jonn wrote: I think you’re confused, Mike M. Your comment is here. I’m waiting for your apology.
Yes in deed one is needed from me… Very sorry… when I came here the second time the pictures above I guess confused me in thinking I was on the same site as before…
Again real sorry

How To Oust Tea Party Infiltrators & Provocateurs Instigating Violence Consider how law-abiding protest groups in other countries have uncovered and distanced themselves from Infiltrators and Provocateurs instigating violence: In Belfast, Northern Ireland between 1980-1995 Irish Catholics were inundated with British provocateurs whose mission was to marginalize the efforts of lawful Citizens at protests. Provocateurs that joined with lawful groups appeared to be like everyone else, supporting the cause; and would attend meetings to spy on group members, then offer ideas to cause members to break the law; other provocateurs attending meetings would appear law-abiding sometimes offering constructive ideas; then suddenly one day without warning instigate violence at a protest, attacking the opposition at a protest with words, their signs or e.g., throwing rocks. Lawful protest groups to counter the unexpected violence caused by Provocateurs in their midst or those in opposition groups at a protest, came up with the following counter measures: Law-abiding Protest groups appointed “Stewards” that monitored not only their own members but demonstrators in opposition groups at protests: ACTION TAKEN: When it became apparent at a Protest, someone in their own group was instigating violence or causing confrontation with the opposition at a Protest, “Stewards” would blow a low pitch whistle; then immediately all group members not involved in violence or confrontation would quickly distance themselves many feet from the lawbreakers forming a tight circle, sometimes holding hands, to block out the “instigator” or “Provocateur” from returning or entering their law-abiding circled of Citizens. Meanwhile “Stewards” as a matter of operation always carry a video camera to tape for the record, that their law-abiding members immediately distanced themselves from an “instigator” that caused confrontation or violence. That videotape might be needed later to prove who was and who wasn’t involved in violence. A copy of that videotape might also be provided to the press to expose a provocateur or to marginalize political opposition that employed the provocateur. Keep in mind, that a Provocateur in a group of law-abiding protesters might individually start a fight against a fellow group protester or with another protester also a Provocateur—from… Read more »
