Video of downtown Anchorage shooting appears to show gunman opening fire before being fatally shot by bar security
By Zaz Hollander
A shooting outside a bar in downtown Anchorage early Sunday ended with a man dead and three people wounded, including two security employees at the Gaslight Lounge.Police identified the man killed as 23-year-old Leroy Manogiamanu. They estimated there were roughly 100 people in the area when the shooting took place just before bar break.
Police on Sunday said officers responding just before 3 a.m. to the 700 block of West Fourth Avenue found Manogiamanu dead, another person with life-threatening injuries, and another less seriously wounded. A fourth person was later found with an injury as well.
Two doormen at the Gaslight were shot during the incident, and a female bar patron was grazed by a bullet fired by the shooter that pierced the front window, according to owner John Pattee.
According to Pattee, one doorman was shot seven times and the other once in the hand, and both are expected to survive. The shooter was the only person killed, he said.
Asked if Manogiamanu was the suspected shooter, police spokesman Chris Barraza said Monday that he could not confirm that information.
“This is still an active investigation, so there is information I cannot share or confirm as it may alter the case,” Barraza said in a text message.
The shooting occurred on a block that includes the Gaslight, other retail businesses and the police department’s headquarters, an administrative building that police say is not staffed around the clock.
Reports on social media described a chaotic scene Sunday morning with bystanders taking cover, followed by a massive police response and victims receiving medical treatment before being taken to the hospital.

A trifecta of DRTs. What a way to start a Wednesday. Bravo to OT and KoB! TY!
LOVE how the Po-po cured the pedo of any further juvenile perversions, with the ever proven high speed hard pellet penetration.
Three AM at the Gaslight.
Nobody got shot. No one was killed.
You didn’t see nuttin.
Nuttin happened.
At the “Gaslight”.
Seriously though, prayers for a swift and complete recovery for the door guards and the female drinker.
The Pedo liked penetration until it was he who was penetrated. Now he can be penetrated for eternity by the barbed cock of satan.
Trifecta of DRTs. Somewhere WW smiles.
Lessons from today’s stories:
1) If you go to a bar, leave well before closing time.
2) Choose your relationships wisely. Don’t pick a guy (or gal) you may have to shoot later.
3) If you have picked someone you’ll have to shoot later, shoot straight.
4) Stay away from the apartment complexes in Harris County. They are pre-made slums.
5) If one will not voluntarily seek a cure for pedophilia, a lead injection will work.
6) Dead pedeos harm no children.
Dead pedos have a 0% recidivism rate.
Word.
Sewer side by cop. Yea, its spelled suicide but I felt pretty sewer I could get away with it. See you later Alligator.
I’m still wondering what purpose that snubbie is for?
When you have a barrel barely longer than the cartridge it’s shooting.
Unless you do special handloads of a very quick burning powder (which would introduce its own set of problems – increased recoil & “snap”), that’s gonna throw a fireball as long as your arm, with reduced bullet velocity and downrange stopping power.
Which may be ok if you’re within BBBB (Bad Breath Belly Button) range.
The idea of carrying a combo cordless hole punch and flashbang is an attractive one.
Too bad she don’t have the ability to take a loudener brake.
If the light weight and accuracy are the most important factors, why add extra barrel? Sounds close to being the ideal packin’ pistol, carry a lot and shoot little. A bit bulky in an N-frame, but 33% more rounds on tap. A niche gun, but I could underrstand buying one. ( This from someone who has carried a round butt 3″ K- frame for years.)
I carried the S&W Mod 10 .38 4in barrel from 1970 till 2001 when we were issued S&W Mod 4046’s .40…
The prior wheelgun was a K frame and dificult for me to hold with small hands. years later when Brin’s were hiring Women, They were given J frames S&W’s .38. which could have been a Mod 63 but I don’t remember. If I knew about Frame sizes when I started, I would have asked for something smaller. The 4046 was a bitch to hold when I had to Qualify in our indoor range. Comp shooting at Police El targets with my own S&W Mod 14 .38 6in barrel with added on Bomar rib and front and rear Bomar target sights wasn’t that bad but I had to pracice a lot at the local range. Combat matches had to be with our S&W Mod 10’s wearing our duty belts and speed loaders.
