Unicorn 6 this is COB6, WTF? Over.

This is what happens when your President is more interested in being a “citizen of the world” than being a G**Damn American!

Naturally the MSM ignored the story but the Telegraph picked up:

White House officials travelled to France at the start of March to discuss a visit by Mr Obama to Omaha Beach, the site of the American Cemetery, established in 1944 just after D-Day and where 9,387 American personnel are buried. Among them is Theodore Roosevelt Jr the eldest son of the 26th US President.

French officials and senior American military officers walked with White House staff through the cemetery discussing how the two presidents might follow the same route. But even before their trip, the White House had decided that Mr Obama would not travel there this week.

“It wasn’t going to happen,” said an American official in Washington. “We went through the motions to placate President Sarkozy but giving special treatment to France was not on our agenda.

“During this trip, we wanted to maintain a balance between the British, German and France”.

I always suspected that there was more than just amateurish ignorance behind the useless DVD gift to the UK Prime Minister and groping the frigging Queen but this is more than I can take.

“…giving special treatment to France was not on our agenda.”

Mr. President, honoring our dead is not giving special treatment to anyone other than those men who earned it. As far as special treatment for France, there are 9,387 Americans buried there who gave more to France than you could ever imagine in a thousand years.

“…went through the motions to placate President Sarkozy but giving special treatment to France was not on our agenda.”

Give me a break!

If this was not politicizing our greatest heroes, WTF was it?

Apparently honoring your betters was not on the agenda either.

Mr. President, if you need a reminder of what is more important that your latest polls in Berlin, feel free to watch this:

What an absolute friggin’ disgrace!

A disgrace, but not a surprise. Very sad for our country.

proof

Whenever you think the rookie Obama can’t go any lower, he digs in and proves us all wrong!

John

I don’t see how visiting a national treasure to pay respects to the dead would be giving special treatment to france.

what a dork.

Southern Democrat

How is not visiting France a disgrace to American soldiers? Was Omaha beach’s Anniversary this week?

“The White House rejected the offer, but Mr Sarkozy’s most senior aide said Mr Obama had agreed to come back in June for the 65th anniversary of the June 6th 1944, D-Day landings.”

Just because a foreign leader asks the President to visit a US National Cem., doesn’t mean by saying no he is insulting those that are buried there.

How many of you poured out French wine and started calling them Freedom Fries after French responses to US actions overseas? Now you’re worried about what the French think?

Obama seems to be quite busy, and if he ran to every engagement where a foreign leader dangled our fallen in an attempt to pressure a visit, he’d be all over the world every day!

Perhaps the logistics behind the trip were difficult, perhaps the area was too large to secure with the detail he has with him?

You all should be mad at the French for this attempt to cheapen 9000+ graves into pressure to do the French’s bidding.

Confused NCO

As much as I hate to say this, for fear of you bastards…I agree with Small Dick.

If you read the article, the Frog Pres has been salivating since the election to see Obama….hell, he had a plane on standby. I almost applaud the pres for not stroking the French by going…

And really, no one else is pissed that our hero’s in France are being used as political pressure??

509th Bob

Why is Obamamessiah’s deliberate distain and hatred of all things related to the U.S. miliitary a surprise? I’m sure that his failure to meet with LIVING and wounded U.S. troops at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany was equally “justified” so as not to overbalance the Germans.

Ray

Since his inauguration the man has ignored his Nation’s Heros (living and dead), kissed the ass of every tin pot dictator who would do us harm, and while representing the premier Republic in the world overseas, bowed his head to foreign royalty. The term to describe his behaviour is “clueless”.

Southern Democrat

Perhaps he was too busy flying into Iraq to fit in a meaningless visit to France. No one applauds the man for going into a combat zone to see the living breathing troops you all worship so greatly…rather you fault him for not going to a country that holds the US with as much contempt as you hold me????

j3

Anyone with a memory will recall that when Hussein Asshole Obama was going to visit our troops in iraq during his campaign, he cancelled – after announcing his visit
! – because he learned that no cameras would be allowed to show his visit to the wounded. The Kenyan POS ‘make believe president’ sees soldiers as props for his damnable ego and useful fodder for his arrogant photo-ops. He is a treacherous, dishonorable, vile bastard in any light.

UpNorth

Uh, SD, he WAS in France, you moron. He was also at the French-German border, but couldn’t make it to Landstuhl, as 509th Bob pointed out, and you ignored.
And thanks for confirming, with your words quoted, “to see the living breathing troops you all worship so greatly”, that you don’t appreciate the “living, breathing troops”. WE suspected as much, you just confirmed it!!!

Southern Democrat

How does showing support for the President visiting the troops mean I don’t respect them?

You all are pissed he visited the soldiers serving, rather then the hero’s who served.

This boils down to two chocies. If he had gone to Normandy, you’d be pissed he didn’t go to Iraq…..he went to Iraq and you’re pissed he didn’t go to Normandy.

Wow, the French do a great job at getting you to scream injustice to our president!!

Chuck

If he wanted to go to a war zone he should have went to Afganistan.

UpNorth

Stupid Dumbshit, I posted this on Blackfive, but I’ll repeat it for you, even though I think you post there too. He was about 300km from Normandy when he was in Paris, not much of a helicopter trip at all. When he was in Strasbourg, he was about 185 km from Landstuhl Medical Center, where the wounded from Iraq and Afghanistan go, again, not much of a helicopter trip, if he’d wanted to make the trip. Guess he didn’t want to, not like every waking second was taken up during European Vacation II.
Go to Ace of Spades and read the take on the last stop of the European Vacation tour.

Southern Democrat

So then answer me this.

Normandy, Landstuhl, or Iraq…where should he have gone if time permitted him to go one place?

Oh look he went to one. Bush went to one warzone on thanksgiving and you all didnt hoot and holler that he dindt go to both!?! How dare he think one area was more dangerous then the other/one group of soldiers was more important then the other??

Did Bush stop every place that we had wounded or buried when he was close by?

Southern Democrat

What an easy one to win.

WE WON AGAIN!

UpNorth

Stupid Dipshit, I see you can’t answer but that’s no surprise. I doubt you can use Google. And btw, GWB went to both places, he also went to Landstuhl, and WRMC, but he went to the hospitals without the Lame Stream Media along, another reason they hated him.
If you think that’s a win, good for you. Just proves you don’t winning from losing, just like most democrats. And We? Got a turd in your pocket?
