Red Flag Signalling Revenge Raised Over Iranian Mosque

Signaling that Iran means business this time, the red flag of revenge was raised over Jamkaran Mosque. The Iranian President, and others in the Iranian government, declared that there will be retaliation for the killing of the general, and for the killing of others… There was a follow on drone attack that killed militia commanders associated with Iran.
Many in the U.S., and overseas, have argued that this has escalated the chance that we’d find ourselves fighting World War III. However, President Trump argued that this action prevented war:

NBC’s Ali Arouzi also commented on the severe implications of the flag being raised over the Mosque.
On his Twitter, he said: “Very very unusual to see a red flag flying over the holy Mosque of Jamkaren in Qom, Iran’s holiest city.
“It is almost always blue and the red flag symbolises revenge.”
This talk about World War III, or even a war resulting from the strike is similar to the talk about Ronald Reagan and his policies. The media back then claimed that his policies were going to cause a major war, even a nuclear war if he continued on his policies.

On a side note, the highest, and still active (but quiet) volcano in the Middle East is in Iran. Every now and then, it wiggles. Iran lies at the collision zone between the Eurasian and the Arabian tectonic plates. It has some active intraplate volcanoes, most notably Mt Damavand stratovolcano, which is also the highest mountain of the Middle Eastern region.
The plates wiggle now and then. The Danakil Depression in Ethiopia has Ale Erta, which sits on the triple plate boundary and is quite alive and active, is eroding its way through the crust from underneath.
It would be nice if Damavand could just puff off a few clouds of volcanic gases. The entire eastern end of the Med is slowly stirring. Etna has been in continuous eruption for a while. Just because the giants are sleeping, that don’t mean they can’t wake up.
Seems to me we’ve been at war with Iran since 04 November 1979.
