Felony charges filed in standoff situation

BEMENT, Ill. (WCIA) — The Iowa man who approached a Bement home with a gun and allegedly created a standoff situation with law enforcement is facing two felony charges.

Nemetorbor Siaway, 23, is facing charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm and aggravated assault with a firearm.

Piatt County State’s Attorney Dana Rhoades said her office is also filing a motion for fitness evaluation, given the unusual series of events Saturday.

Officials say Siaway drove to a home on Mansfield Street around 8:30 a.m. and began firing shots into the air while yelling obscenities.

The homeowner fired warning shots from a shotgun in response.

Multiple law enforcement units — including Bement Police, Illinois State Police and the Piatt County Sheriff’s Office — descended upon the home.

Philadelphia Police Sources: Store Cook Fatally Shoots Man After Being Pinned Down While Intervening In Drug Deal

By Joe Holden
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — Philadelphia police are investigating after a cook fatally shot a man at a corner store in Brewerytown on Monday afternoon. The deadly shooting happened on the 1700 block of North 27th Street around 1:30 p.m.

Initial reports suggested it was a hold-up at Madera Grocery and Deli. High-ranking police sources tell Eyewitness News, though, the man who was shot showed up to buy drugs when he attacked the dealer.

Sources say the store cook intervened and was pinned down.

The cook, sources say, reached for his gun and shot the man twice, killing him.

Sources say evidence suggests the killing was justifiable as the shooter was defending himself.

1 killed, 14 wounded in Chicago weekend shootings
Chicago Sun Times

[The American Colonies were] all democratic governments, where the power is in the hands of the people and where there is not the least difficulty or jealousy about putting arms into the hands of every man in the country. [European countries should not] be ignorant of the strength and the force of such a form of government and how strenuously and almost wonderfully people living under one have sometimes exerted themselves in defence of their rights and liberties and how fatally it has ended with many a man and many a state who have entered into quarrels, wars and contests with them. — George Mason, “Remarks on Annual Elections for the Fairfax Independent Company” in The Papers of George Mason, 1725-1792, ed Robert A. Rutland (Chapel Hill, 1970).

A .475 is indeed a hand cannon!

Toxic Deplorable Racist B Woodman

That IS a handsome hand cannon, .475 Linebaugh (if I can read the engraving properly), unfluted cylinder. What other rounds can fit into that cylinder?

How interchangable are some of these larger rounds? I.E., 38 Special/357 Mag, 44 Special/44 Mag, 45LC/45ACP, (etc)?
I realize that these are one way: (38=>357, but not 357=>38)

You might be able to feed it .45 LC into it but it is doubtful as the .475 is made by shortening .45-70 cases to 1.5 inches and then stuffing a .475 slug in it. The .45-70 case is not the same Dia. as .45 Long Colt. I think you have an orphan cartridge on your hands.
