Leftist Pissed at Obama; Cultist Down with it

| March 27, 2009

It will never become full blown Bush Derangement Syndrome but some on the far left are realizing that they were rhetorically punked by Obama.

First from Yahoo news:

President Barack Obama’s Afghanistan proposal is under fire from the liberal base, which is becoming increasingly disappointed in his war policies.

Russ Feingold, the liberal and often defiant Wisconsin senator, said today that that Obama’s plan “could make the situation worse, not better.”

Peace Action, a liberal anti-war organization, is organizing a coalition to petition Congress to oppose Obama’s Afghanistan plan.

“It’s a shame President Obama believes he can pursue the same militaristic strategy as his predecessors and produce a different result,” said Kevin Martin, executive director of Peace Action.

And Win Without War, another anti-war group, also slammed Obama.

“I regret that President Obama, in his desire to protect our nation from a genuine threat, has outlined a policy that will undermine our security, not enhance it,” said Tom Andrews, the organization’s executive director. “In short, the president’s policy is playing into the hands of Al Qaeda and the Taliban by providing them with a cause that unites and strengthens them.”

It’s not just the totally wacked out anti-war hippies. No the probable source of most of Southern Democrat’s talking point drivel is also not happy.

This is from the Daily Kos:

After 60 days of comprehensive reviews and leaks about differences over those reviews within the administration, no surprises have emerged in the new strategy for the “good war” in Afghanistan that President Obama announced today. Not even the slightest hint about when the U.S. troop commitment might end. And not a word about the 550 or more prisoners in the infamous Bagram prison, many of them previously tortured and still held without recourse to legal or humanitarian intervention.

While I think these wackos are dead wrong, I will give them credit for a spoonful of intellectual honesty. Obama played them like his personal bitch and they aren’t happy about it. I say good on them, I’d be pissed too if I was a leftist loon who supported a bunch of empty platitudes and discovered that he was just pissing on my leg the whole time.

And we walked the walked. I criticized President Bush on many occasions and don’t get me started on McCain. If some of you remember my old blog, he was Oxygen Thief of the Week, TWICE. That’s because I am a man of integrity and character secure in my own convictions.

The cult of Obama is not distracted by silly things like conviction.

See the post below and explain to me where Jon Soltz has any conviction or integrity for that matter. Soltz is little more than a malcontent making a living shepherding a cult of malcontents.

As for Southern Democrat’s comment:

I believe I read on the wire today that the US is finally getting smart about Afghan, and is sending in civilians to help these people, not soldiers to kill them. We will finally do what should have been the first tactic and have people trained in well digging, agriculture, medicine, schooling, all sorts of benificial programs that will help to bring the people of Afghanistan out of the hole we drove them into.

That could be the most idiotic statement I have read all year. I don’t necessarily disagree with Obama’s plan but understand something dumbass, this is Bush policy doubled down.

“We will finally do what should have been the first tactic”
M’kay Mr. Never Laced up a Desert boot, can you even DEFINE tactics?

“have people trained in well digging, agriculture, medicine, schooling, all sorts of benificial programs that will help to bring the people of Afghanistan out of the hole we drove them into.”

Newsflash, on the Military side of the fence, we have Civil Affairs & they have been doing just that since we invaded. Ever hear of something called a PRT Alleged Democrat? If you discover you have a set of stones, you can man up & enlist in a CA unit and put your “tactic” to use, but I won’t hold my breath on that.
On the civilian side of the fence, we have been doing our best to establish a safe and secure environment so Non-Governmental Organizations can assist the people of Afghanistan as well.

So-called Democrat, in a perfect world, you’d take a night time stroll through Sorubi or Ghazni. The Taliban would enlighten you… Heheheheh.

The statement “help to bring the people of Afghanistan out of the hole we drove them into” is absolutely absurd. The middle east, for all the oil and wealth they have obtained due to their luck as to where they landed upon creation, is still a land that lacks indoor plumbing, kill their people like they are cattle, and cannot get along with one another if you gave each of them 72 virgins.
I am thoroughly happy that the leftist fuckers are getting a piece of the shit pie. Did they honestly think that Obama was going to trade in M-16s for daffodils?
The moment Obama walked into the first briefing several weeks prior to taking the helm, he became a moderate liberal at the least on the spot because for the first time he was privy to the reality of the world…a face of reality that his left leaning cohorts are not entitled to. Obama was told of the true threat facing our nation, how close we are each day to a major destructive attack, the severity of the conflicts throughout the world, etc. It is my guess that he had more grey hair leaving that first debriefing then he did going in…..welcome to the real work Barrack and welcome to real world leftists.

“…from a genuine threat..”

The left wing loons should not have had any expectations of a retreat from Afghanistan. On the contrary, he campaigned on the premise of beefing up forces in the region, and potentially even attacking our ally Pakistan.

The new policy on Afghanistan does not fulfill the miitaristic campaign promises of Obama, it is very broad in some parts (as it should be) and way to specific in others.

It satisfies neither the hawks nor the doves and may be more akin to window dressing than decision making.

Scene on a nearby street corner in my hometown this weekend: Stoned aging hippies with beards and long gray hair, holding a sign up at a busy intersection – “Reaganomics = Facism.” Swear to God.

I only had the heart go walk over and remind them to put down the bong long enuff to realize that Reagan died awhile ago, and that Teleprompter Jesus was in charge now.

They seemed not only unaware of what I was telling them but totally unconcerned at the clownish spectacle they presented.
