Weekend Open Thread-Red Pill Versus Blue Pill

The younger millennials and older Gen Z have been creating new words to add to debates and conversations. Two of their terms include the “red pill” and the “blue pill”. This is from the Matrix. Take the red pill and one could go further down the rabbit hole of reality. Take the blue pill and one goes back to believing what he thinks is true but isn’t true.
Applied to debate?
You guys have had your fair share of destroying sock puppets that came over here to defend a phony. These accounts could either be that of the phony, or of someone related to the phony.
The phony knows what his real story is unless he believes his own lies. In most cases, family and friends believe the phony’s account as “the real deal”. The later would be considered as “blue pilled”. They believe something about someone that isn’t the case.
The regular commenting community looks at the posted documentation. They use that as a basis to provide the facts about the phony’s actual service, or lack of such service. This act is seen as “dropping or spreading the red pills”. If the family believes us after this, then they’d be considered as “red pilled”
In political debates, it’s usually the conservative side of the argument using these terms. Conservatives, arguing from facts and reality, “spread the red pill”. A person that abandons a progressive position, in favor of a conservative one, would be seen as “red pilled” in that topic. Those on the left advancing a narrative not supported by reality are naturally seen as “blue pilled”.

So if your cat or dog is looking at something and you can’t see it, it’s there. And you don’t need an exorcist. You need a bad temper and a spray bottle of something nasty like vinegar.
They can also sense heat (infrared spectrum) better than we can, so if they’re staring at or fussing over a spot on the wall, it’s a good idea to touch it to see if there’s unexplained heat there. Might be a wiring defect that could set your house on fire.

Oh ain’t this Nation great. Got phone call (recording) from SSA and since I never got a letter I hung up, called real SSA and was given number to call as to fraud. Called it and after going through the recorded BS and on hold for about 1/2 hour finally got a human (?), weird part is he has a slight accent, more foreign than them weird ones here stateside. He also informed me that he did not actually work for SSA but for a company that took reports for the SSA fraud division. Wonder how many other divisions of the govt outsource some of these things to foreign countries, Yeah Pelosi probably has all her dealings outsourced to foreign nations but in my case this one sounded like was India.
What does it say about the integrity of your organization when you outsource your fraud investigations? Unless it’s just the first POC for the reports that outsourced, but even that doesn’t say much good to me.

Will attempt to keep a long story short, but as Keeper of the Coveted Book of WOT Firsts, I was poking around in the archives the other day (looking for something else) and came across the 02 January 2015 WOT.
It was there, in the first comment for the first WOT for the New Year, that A Proud Infidel®™ posted “OOHH, FIRST” at 4:40pm.
After much nail biting, gnashing of teeth, and discussions that almost came to blows, the decision was made that the previous declaration of the first “First” having been posted by AW1Ed at 5:13 pm on the 24 Apr 15 WOT should be rescinded.
The Corinthian Leather bound, Gold Lettered Coveted Book of WOT Firsts has been amended/corrected, and as a result, from this date hence until the end of time, it will be A Proud Infidel®™ who will wear the crown and wield the scepter of having been the Miscreant Dickweed who posted up the initial “First” on the Weekend Open Threads.

I am red pilled thru and thru. I will admit to having ingested a blue pill on occasion, but it was for a specific purpose, vascular constriction. I will agree, too, that many of the phonies families blue pill their way thru to ignore or enable them to “rock the lies” on their service. Friend of mine that is an undertaker has told me of the many times someone’s family was requesting a VA Marker based on their spoken of Military Service, only to be told that there was none. Sad, ain’t it?

I think it or some other form of lube is required, according to the instructions on the blue pill bottle. I am not sure though; maybe we could ask the commie-cuttlefish aka Squidward the socialist, as I imagine he gets a fresh bottle every couple of weeks.

Dang, missed it again. Not even top 10 this week.
For those keeping track of my adventures with the Walther service department: the PPK/S .22 is being returned to me early next week, supposedly repaired correctly this time.
The service department representative was rather snooty about it not being clear that their .22 LR pistol requires the use of High Velocity ammo to function properly – although that is not mentioned in the literature that accompanies the pistol.
Other .22 LR semi-auto pistols may also require High Velocity ammo to work, but if so it is not something I know about.
He also was of the opinion that I didn’t know ATF rules if I asked for a refund. (Which is interesting since Walther is advertising their PPQ’s and now PPS’s as a “love it or your money back” deal.) He suggested I offer it to a local firearms dealer for some money off a firearm of my choice.
By Mittwolk I should know what the ‘repair’ is like.

No way I could call any of what you went thru on this a “customer service.” Maybe I’m too much old school, but if I was that person’s boss, he/she would be looking for a new job. I guess next time you are looking to purchase a firearm it prolly won’t be one of theirs? Keep us posted.
They have definitely soured me on future expenditures of anything marked “Walther” – and their ads in Shooting Illustrated get a snort of disbelief.
I did make a comment on my FB page that I could not recommend Walther, especially the PPK/S .22 I tried to stick to dry facts without invective in my explanations.
While I don’t have a broad readership, a number of those who do are involved in the shooting sports in various ways. It probably won’t hurt Walther Arms in any significant way, but it may help others avoid a problem.
Many .22s have a preference for higher velocity ammo, the GSG 1911-22 for one. However, they TELL you in their manual. Moot point for me, I run CCI Mini Mags in everything .22 I own except for one Browning which loves SuperX…also high velocity. I have the P22 and it is great. However, no customer service has been needed, and from your description, would not be forthcoming!
