Knife-wielding robbery suspects flee Family Dollar when employee presents gun

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — An attempted robbery was foiled after a store clerk presented a gun at two knife-wielding suspects Wednesday night.Birmingham Police say two suspects attempted to rob the Family Dollar Store on Bessemer Road, but quickly sprinted out of the store when the employee showed they had a gun.

Brownsville woman in her 80s defends home from intruder

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — A local woman proves, no matter your age, you can still protect yourself in your own home.“People are tired of being victimized, so she refused to be a victim in this situation, and she stood up for her and her property,” said Assistant Chief Kelvin Evans of the Brownsville Police Department.Early Monday morning, Brownsville police responded to a reported home break-in.
“Once patrol arrived, they found her window – the kitchen window – had been broken into with some kind of brick or stone,” Evans said.
The victim, a woman in her 80s, told police she was in bed when she heard a loud noise, grabbed her weapon and went to check on it.
“She asked the young man ‘what’re you doing in my house?’ He responded by firing a couple of rounds,” Evans said. “Well, she responded back by firing a couple rounds from her weapon.”
This wasn’t the only home break-in from Monday morning.

Intruder killed by tenant while forcing way into SW Houston apartment

HOUSTON – An intruder is dead after he was met with gunfire when he forced his way into a southwest Houston apartment, police said.Officers said the incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the Marquette at Piney Point apartment complex on Westheimer near Fondren Road.
According to authorities, three people were home when the intruder forced his way into the apartment under “suspicious circumstances.”
The intruder shot at the resident, at which point one of the residents tried to wrestle the gun away from him, officers said.
While the intruder and resident were fighting, another roommate rushed to the room and got a gun.

I sold an Anaconda, like the model captioned, last year. It is a heavy revolver, a good thing for moderating recoil.
Can’t remember the year I purchased it but recall paying $250 – $275 for it. It sold for $2,299, thanks to the AG of Massachusetts.
all the guns I own are blued/coated or a matte stainless, how bad does every nick/scratch show up on chromed/nickle finishes?
Mine was stainless, finger prints were never noticeable, to me.

What a relief. I am just crazy, not stoopid or insane…yet.
Them Birmingham Boys need to find a new line of work…or Jesus…or join the choir…or start junior college. Do something to turn their lives around.
Good on Granny for blazing away. FTA she must of nicked him and he still was committing crimes when the popo caught his sorry azz. Maybe he’ll bleed out, catch a nasty staph infection, or better yet suffer from tearing of an orafice from Bubba and the boys. We can only hope.
Houston is a little more safer today, due to another group of citizens that refuse to be a victim. They must be kin to the Granny in the other story.

Well, at least those two yutes lived long enough to learn a lesson. Now the question is, how will they use that lesson?

Again. It’s like the word Dollar is just to much to resist.
And who Nickel plates an Annaconda? That stuff is for pimps and Generals.
The stuff flakes off.
Electroless is much better and looks way cool.
With proper care it will outlast all of us. The trouble is in the cleaning as some solvents can get under the nickel if there is the smallest nick and cause the nickel to flake off. I’m not a fan of the shiny guns. I like them blued.
1/1/2 not too good but 2 knives and 5 guns involved could have been better. So the boys have 2 knives and try to rob store with armed employee, get a real job boys as a butcher at a local meat market, makes for better use of knife and also a way to earn money. 80 and can still hit part of target, way to go lady, you hit him which is better than some here in reports and half your age. DRT, good lesson on actions, never break into a place that has more than one occupant and weapons. Will leave pot to roll over but hope next week is better, 10/10/58 is not too good of week.
Was a time law people said home burglars were almost never armed and wanted only your stuff and didn’t intend harm. Obviously, that has changed. Any homeowner, renter, apartment resident who does not have a firearm is pushing the odds.
Breaking and entering a residence in Houston? That’s pretty much a Darwin Award. I live there.
