Andrew Yang, Upstart Democratic Presidential Candidate
Democrat Presidential hopefuls are pulling left as hard as they can, each trying to out-liberal the other. When their platform is to raise taxes, illegals ahead of citizens, take guns away, open the boarders, and most of all impeach Trump, one has to really stretch to stand out from the herd.
Enter Andrew Yang.
By: Will Sommer
Outsider presidential hopeful Andrew Yang’s latest idea is both literally and figuratively his most unorthodox yet: He’s taking a strong public stance against circumcision. The Democratic candidate revealed in a little-noticed tweet last week that he was against the ritualized practice of cutting a newborn’s foreskin. But in an interview with The Daily Beast, he said that if he were elected he would incorporate that view into public policy, mainly by pushing initiatives meant to inform parents that they don’t need to have their infants circumcised for health reasons.
Yang, an entrepreneur whose candidacy is fueled by grassroots donations, appears to be the first presidential candidate in history to take a public position on circumcision. But that’s not a terrible surprise to those who have followed his upstart presidential campaign. There are dozens of position statements on his campaign website, ranging from the obscure to the existential.
Among those statements is The Freedom Dividend, which opines-
Andrew would implement a Universal Basic Income, ‘The Freedom Dividend,’ of $1,000/month, $12,000 a year for every American adult over the age of 18. This is independent of one’s work status or any other factor. This would enable all Americans to pay their bills, educate themselves, start businesses, be more creative, stay healthy, relocate for work, spend time with their children, take care of loved ones, and have a real stake in the future.
Now that’s the way to jump up in the polls! Surprising no one, our own Master Chief has an opinion, which he was kind enough to share with us along with the link. Which can be found here: The Daily Beast
Enjoy. It’s going to be an interesting 20 months, stay tuned.

He’s like Ojos-Locos, except he has the ability to form complete sentences on occasion.
Doesn’t mean they make a shit bit of sense.
I read his Universal Basic Income idea.
He does not address who would pay for it.
He states EVERYONE age 18 and older should receive it, rich, middle class, poor.
He does not address if that income would be taxed.
Circumsion? Really? Tell that to parents whose faith dictates that operation. That is a personal choice of any parents that the Government should have no right being involved in.
Gee Whiz…
It’s more the choice of the child, who cannot have the operation undone if as an adult he would rather not be circumcised.
It is a mutilation. Routine circumcision is comparable to some of the more extreme types of female circumcision. Types of circumcision that are outlawed in the US.
If your point of view is that the government should let the parents mutilate their children because of religious views, then you should support female circumcision.
I never said the government should let parents “mutilate” their children because of religious views.
Please read what I commented.
I said the government should have no right in dictating a parent’s choice on circumcision on their male infants.
If I am not mistaken, that is a belief of those of Jewish faith. Others parents that are not of that faith do it for either hygiene purposes for their child or for social reasons.
Does a male child have any say so in this? Of course not. Same with being given a name they may not like, yet can’t afford to legally change it when they are adults. Same with young female infants getting their ears pierced which could be corrected with plastic surgery, which costs money. Same with uncircumcised males who want to be circumdised, but cannot afford the cost when they become an adult.
Thank You for your feedback.
BTW:
Am sure with today’s technology, any male who wished their parents did not have them circumcised may be able to visit a plastic surgeon to have a his foreskin replaced so that he would look as if he never had that procedure done. At a cost. Same with name change and fixing pierced ears. All at a cost.
You seem to be mistaken and think that circumcision is a solely cosmetic procedure. It is not. The foreskin is the most sensitive part of the male anatomy. It has more nerve endings than the clitoris. Many European countries have laws and agitate against circumcision because of this.
It is undoubtedly a mutilation. I acknowledge that is a strong word, but it is indeed accurate.
Female circumcision, also known in the West as Female Genital Mutilation is also primarily a religious ritual. If you believe FGM should not happen, then you should likewise believe that Male Genital Mutilation should not happen.
I believe that parents should not have the right to mutilate their children. Cutting off a perfectly functional part of the body for social reasons is a mutilation.
Again, please read what I wrote about the Jewish Faith and circumcision. Doubt those parents do it for cosmetic purposes.
Jesus was circumcised because of his parent’s faith.
I will stand firm that our Government should have no right in dictating parent’s decision on having their male infant son circumcised, especially those of the Jewish faith. I don’t care what other Countries do. I care about my Country.
You are entitled to your personal belief on circumcision. You are not going to change my beliefs on the Government intervening on Lang’s personal opinion/assessment on circumcision.
Thank You again for sharing your thoughts.
So, you are saying you’re fine with parents mutilating children because of their religious views?
In your first comment to me you said this:
“I never said the government should let parents “mutilate” their children because of religious views.”
So, which is it? I also note you haven’t bothered to discuss the FGM aspect of it, which is a similarly religious ceremony.
So you are for letting parents mutilate their children for religious reasons? Your first response was this:
“I never said the government should let parents “mutilate” their children because of religious views.”
So which is it?
I never used the word “multilate”. You did. That is why I put it in quotes. I am using your word. Read what I write. I write “circumcision”. You are the one viewing that procedure as a “mutilation”, not me.
I believe our Government should have no right in dictating a parent’s personal choice when it comes to circumcision on a male infant, especially those parents of the Jewish faith.
Anything else you want to debate or twist my words? If you believe that operation is “multilation”, good for you. Have you notice I am not questioning your personal belief?
That is the beauty of living in our country.
Thank You for sharing again.
Webster’s dictionary defines “mutilate” as
“to cut up or alter radically so as to make imperfect” or “to cut off or permanently destroy a limb or essential part of” both of which apply to circumcision. The foreskin is 15 square inches of skin on an adult male. It is the most sensitive part on the male body. Objectively, circumcision is a mutilation.
I am not twisting your words. You believe that religious views should allow parents to circumcise their children. Circumcision is a mutilation. Therefore, you believe that religious views allow parents to mutilate their children. I understand you object to the word “mutilate” but it is accurate.
Would you mind telling me how you feel about the similarly religious ceremony of female circumcision?
This post is about Yang’s view on male
circumcision, not female.
Sorry, you will have to debate with someone else on yor beliefs. I resoect your beliefs. Go for it. We are all cut from fifferent fabrics in our lives.
BTW, I know the definition of “mutilation”. Got to see the ladt Army Butchers do their “ting” when taking apart a quarter of a cow. They were skilled with their knives. And those tenderloins and ribeyes sure tadted good.
Have a great day!
Wait, getting replacement foreskin attached is a thing? Do I even want to know where they get the foreskin?
Mason, with today’s technology on reconstructive surgery, those plastic surgeons probably come up with ideas on how to replace foreskins, to include using cadevers. After all, that is how plastic surgery started…to help those disfigured from War injuries.
They can now create vaginas for males who convert to female and a penis for females who convert to male, so anything is possible.
Really?
I had my son circumcised. The circumcision was a surgical procedure performed by an MD in an operating room with appropriate anesthetic and post-surgical care. My parents had the same thing done to me when I was an infant. I have no problem with it. Can it be done badly? Sure. But when done properly, it is not a bad thing at all, and in no way comparable to FGM. As such, It should not get the same blanket condemnation.
It removes more nerve endings than most common types of female circumcision. Types that are illegal in the US. It also has a fairly high death rate, and a high rate of complications. If you are curious about the origin and usefulness of circumcision, here are some videos you can watch.

Most men in the US aren’t taught about what circumcision really is, and how it affects men. It is a tragedy.
I have yet to meet any US male complaining about their parents circumcising them.
What is interesting is that when I did a Joint Exercise in the Far East, working with Civil Affairs and Doctors, they shared with me that the Number 1 request for medical treatment was circumcision for their male population, young and old. They were not concerned about being vaccinated.
I personally don’t need to watch a video on circumcision. My Doctor explained it to us in detail on what takes place during that operation. So far, our sons are still living…
Good for you, Namerous, for standing up for your own personal beliefs. Are you a vegetarian who does not believe in consuming animal flesh as well? If so, good for you. Are you of a Faith that believes they are the only ones that will go to Heaven and everyone else is going to Hell? Well, good for you.
Thank You, again, for sharing your personal beliefs on circumision. Always good to hear another person’s personal opinion.
Hello. I am an American Male. I am circumcised, and I did not have a choice in the matter. I have chosen to not circumcise my children because it is a barbaric practice. I have spent a lot of time looking into it when I was a young adult and got curious about the process.
The truth about circumcision is it has almost zero benefits, and a large list of drawbacks. It won’t kill a child frequently, but it can. However the medical benefits it imparts are negligible in the extreme. The studies that prove those negligible benefits are also deeply flawed.
For instance, circumcision is supposed to prevent the spread of STDs, by up to 60%. That is a relative rate increase. The real increase is from about 1.5% to 2%. The circumcised men in that study were also taught to use, and provided with condoms. The uncircumcised men were not. Yet this is the basis for an industry that removes the most sensitive part of our children, to sell the organ to the cosmetic industry.
I can understand your reluctance to look at the issue critically. It is a painful realization. Doubly so if you’ve passed on the “tradition”.

I’d like to throw a data point out there, take it or leave it, it’s up to you.
My parents didn’t have the procedure done so I spent the first 23 years of my life ‘whole’.
While in the Army I had to go under for a procedure and thought ‘while I’m here…’. Naively, I thought it was harmless and would reduce complications later, my main concern was an upcoming deployment to Iraq and I thought that the gains would be worth it.
Wrong.
The lose of sensitivity and protection was by far worse than the benefit. You can not put a price on having protection on that thing from cold, heat, impact. The healing alone was nearly a year and was the worst.
But, I’m grateful for my parents giving me the option and one day I may pass it to my son.
Thank You for sharing your personal experience, Roh-Dog.
Your parents had the option of making a choice, a decision for you.
Just as you for your son (future?).
Our government did not dictate their choice for you. It was their decision.
The same applies to circumcision. The government should have no right dictating folk’s personal preference on whether or not to circumcise their male infant, especially those parents who are of Jewish faith.
Agreed. Parents should do their homework just like I should have done mine.
The idea that the gov can legislate something like this is idiotic at best.
I disagree with the procedure and my advocacy is my best weapon.
Now if we can our typing errors while using a smartphone..and I don’t use Apple products!
Thank you, again, Roh, for sharing. Always good to get other folks perspectives.
Fgm is meant to destroy female sexuality. It is preposterous to equate it with male circumcision. I was circumcised and i can tell you it did not destroy my sexual drive or satisfaction.
Circumcision has benefits! Most importantly, circumcision renders the head more prominent so that the hand cannot slip off easily.
Sheesh. Do I have to tell you everything???
Ok, here’s the whole thing put to comedy:

Mr. Yang’s running mate most likely will be Mr. Ying.
I just wonder how much crazier they’ll get, I’m sure it’s going to be one whopper of a FREAKSHOW!!!
Here’s an excellent rebuttal of the idea. Pulls it apart piece by piece.
This idiot drives me crazy. “Self-driving trucks are going to replace all the truck drivers because they can’t understand the software or hardware required to run this equipment”. “Automation is going to take all the jobs”. In other words, the dumb rubes have a blue collar job and are therefore too stupid to figure new tech out.
Tell that to the millions of farmers who routinely whip out laptops to troubleshoot their John Deere GPS equipped harvesters and tractors. The same guys that use UAVs’ to survey their crop yields to determine where to add fertilizer or insect repellent.
And yeah, we heard it all before when computers first came around and you guys claimed we’d all be out of work unless Uncle Sam took care of us.
It’s the same old Democrat story. People are too stupid and too oppressed to get on with life by themselves in today’s world. They must spoon feed everyone and make them reliant on the government to be successful.
Universal Basic Income? GFY, Yang. We’ll all get by just fine without the gimmicky fear mongering thankyouverymuch.
Nice way of saying, “Learn to code,” without the Twitter ban.
That is a great video.
I do like how the underlying precept is the liberal fantasy that if you give poor people money they will spend it on improving their lives and health and NOT on drugs, alcohol, sex and meaningless baubles.
Once again: FREE MONEY FOR EVERYONE!!!!!
Not addressed: WHERE IS THIS MONEY COMING FROM?????
Trust me, if it was for every man/woman over 18 I would quit my job TODAY. Unfortunately, as much as some people want to believe, money does not in fact, grow on trees.
Where from? You.
Anyone who opposes them pays. The, when those folks are gone, someone else will be un-personed and devoured. And do on.
See Venezuela, etc.
“Two young boys were hanging out playing and one said to the other…”You know, when I was a baby, I got circumcised…”
The other kid said “Yeah, was it bad?”
The first boy replied, “Yeah, it was terrible. I couldn’t walk for two years!!”
I expect this from JeffLPH, but not you, Chip.
And where does he plan on getting the money for a “universal income”? And how many times has that experiment failed?
Jeezus…
One more time! We have figured it out! Our Commissars won’t wreck everything this time! And no mountain of starved corpses this time, either! You have to have Faith in the Shining Path to the Radiant Future! Pinky swears!
You have nothing to gain but your chains!
OT – Larsie’s favorite candidate wants illegal aliens to get Social Security:
https://gellerreport.com/2019/03/gillibrand-social-security.html/
She’s also come up with a genius idea to limit opioid prescriptions to seven days.
Her tweet on the topic:
“If we want to end the opioid epidemic, we must work to address the root causes of abuse. That’s why @SenCoryGardner and I introduced legislation to limit opioid prescriptions for acute pain to 7 days. Because no one needs a month’s supply for a wisdom tooth extraction.”
https://www.gillibrand.senate.gov/news/press/release/senators-gillibrand-and-gardner-announce-bipartisan-legislation-to-combat-opioid-crisis-by-limiting-prescriptions-to-seven-days
Sorry grandma, that new hip still hurting? It’s day 8, you should be good to go. Want a smug, contemptuous woman. She sure has learned how to talk down to people from her mentor the Clintons.
Mason, IMHO, the opioid “crisis” is getting out of hand.
Those who die from the “crisis” are using street fentyal, herion. It seems there has always been a problem with herion.
Unfortunately, those who are chronic pain sufferers, those who don’t abuse their prescription are paying the price because of some bad apples. The CDC guidelines were taken out of content. Some Doctors are scared to prescribe pain medication because of “the crisis.”
So what about alcohol? Do you treat it the same since some folks abuse it and have cause deaths to DUIs? What about food? Some folks abuse food, overeat, which may lead to diabetes, high blood pressure, heart attacks, especially if they are overweight.
Same with gambling. Where do you draw the line when governmnent dictates how one lives? Do we ever learn from history? The Prohibition? What about tobacco use, a personal choice? Did taking tobacco commercials off of TV cut back use of tobacco?
Anyone here remember the days of serving in the Military where Energy Conservation was the Flavor of the Month? That program was such a waste of manpower and time and a huge joke (IMHO). It kinda faded away after we started getting involved in conflicts.
It’s hard to consider Andrew Yang as a serious candidate. He’s basically a New York City lawyer who was involved in starting a student test-prep firm that got flipped to a larger company. He then went on to run a very small NGO that apparently got the attention of Barack Obama.
Given his campaign issues of circumcision and guaranteed income, it’s probably a safe bet that Yang’s chances of actually getting into the White House are not very good. What’s more likely is that he might realistically hope to be a political player among Democrats with an eventual shot at a cabinet post or whatever.
What Yang also does is throw into the mix a possible appeal to an Asian voting block which could somewhat alter how Democratic talking points evolve.
Bucking for Surgeon General?
Who has the greater income, a Rabbi or a Priest…
Well Rabbis get to keep the tips.
Winnah winnah chicken dinnah!
Yang is as AstroTurf as it gets his paid troll collective dubbed yang gang recently fell off the face of the earth after they were exposed. I suspect we still have one here though. He’s just a socialist throwing around money trying to pretend he’s not and different. Reality is if you’re a democrat you’re a solciast now whether you like it or not.
“Reality is if you’re a democrat you’re a solciast now whether you like it or not.”
Amen. I think it’s hilarious that the candidates refuse to identify as ‘capitalist’, some down right sh*t on free markets.
The glee I have telling my left-leaning family that the Democrats will get DJT re-elected is priceless.
Typocity.
Sorry folks, the ifone makes it hard to see/edit text on this format. Hell, I can’t select words that are spellchecked to change them so I give up.
I’m surprised that nobody has told the
d-rat clown posse that us Veterans are too dumb to even use a spell check…..
You know it’s coming…
He was interviewed by Howie Carr yesterday.
Seemed to believe in the typical Obama economics model that defies logic.
The Howie Carr show is a hoot.
A Boston favorite for decades.
The whole “you can’t drill your way to lower gas prices?” Yeah, that guy was dense without a teleprompter.
Isn’t is weird how the Donk economic plans only finally seem to get going under Republican presidents and -really- gas up when Republicans also have Congress?
Totally weird.
When my son was going to school in Boston, he turned me on to Howie. My favorite episode is the Chinese cut rate bus that use to run out of Boston “Fung Wah”, I think. If you can find the podcast it’s worth your time.
When comedian Pat Paulson “ran” for president in 1968, his ideas were ludicrously funny, and you knew it was a spoof. In 2019, the left wing of the Democratic party has taken the spoof as gospel…….Perhaps they will legislate pi to an even 3.0 to make the math easier for the Gen X snowflakes. Tires would be a rough ride though….
Taking the whole idea of “I vote for the Democrats because they gib me stuff” to a new level.
Blatantly trying to bribe their voter base is about the only way the Dems will have a chance in 2020. I wonder how many of the other Dem candidates will jump on the UBI train?
The robots are coming! I’m ready and willing to accept Mr. Yang’s “Freedom Dividend” of $1,000 monthly. If he’s elected president, I hope he’ll increase the maximum eligibility age for the dividend from 64 to 70 or better yet, for life. I’d absolutely enjoy an additional $12K annually to fund my domestic and international travel excursions. Receiving the Freedom Dividend will be like winning a small lottery payout.
The national debt is only around $21T – I think America can absorb many more trillions to pay for the dividend, if necessary. With the huge increase in expected future productivity gained from automation and robots, America would easily be able to eliminate the total national debt in a decade or two (even if the US stays in Afghanistan and Iraq for another decade or two). Show me the money Andy!! I’m a registered Republican who likes free and shiny things from Uncle Sam.
That thousand won’t buy half a liter of vodka.
No one is touching or modifying my Willy!
I damned well Roger That Sir!
My Willy is a ’62, but my Willys is a ’55. Both are stock.
Andrew Yang for President? YGBFSM
Our country has gone back to the “ole yeller dog” form of the Democratic Party.
The Freedom Dividend will pay for itself–the government will simply impose a 100% income tax on it.
Then all those who never served in the U.S. Armed Forces will learn first-hand the joys of what those who have served probably experienced, maybe more than once: “No Pay Due.”
What.a.f’ing.fool!
Him and the idiot trying to argue with AnotherPat.
charles w; gonna need to pick up on some more pop corn futures. The packing plants are running at full capacity and we’re opening up 2 new lines to meet demand.
And, yeah only body parts I want trimmed is hair and nails. Wash Mr. Man on a regular basis, no health problems. Not that I’m supporting Yang’s position.
Dayang me..Dayang me..Dayang me…Get out a rope and hang me..!!!!
Looks like someone above got their foreskin in a wad!
I knew this story would send a few over the edge!
By the way … I am at a 5,000 acre camp of a long gone 3 star in Adirondack region through Sunday … we won’t see the subject of this post here.
See you DW’s later.
Sent via satgooglenettwistedpairnet …. OUT.
Non of these people are “liberals”. That implies they are for liberty. They are progressives. They want liberty only for people they deem worthy.
Yang’s “Freedom Dividend” plan is absolute financial idiocy.
In 2017, there were estimated to be a bit over 252,000,000 US residents over the age of 18. The number is higher today by a few million.
252,000,000 x $12,000 = $3.024 trillion.
The Federal government’s annual outlays, including Social Security and other “off budget” programs, is somewhat over $4 trillion annually. His proposal would therefore increase Federal spending by 75% annually.
As I said: financial idiocy.
Stop using that math stuff, Hondo. Didn’t you know that pointing out stuff like that is racist, sexist, ageist, speciest, and probably causes baldness, impotence, priapism, and cancer?
Sheesh! The nerve of this guy!
On the flip side, though, he’d have a killer bumper sticker:
I’M WITH YANG
HANDS OFF MY WANG
